    I’m probably a medium to large runner at 5’ 11” and 197 lbs. I still think much of what you said applies to runners in my category as well.
    I love the Boston 10 (the 11 is nearly the same). The SuperBlast and PXS are two great do it all shoes as well! It’s sometimes hard for me to gauge a shoe based on Meg or Robbe’s recommendations since my marathon PR is 4:20 and I’m a lot bigger than them… so your perspectives are very helpful!
    Great video, guys!!

    Very heavy runner here at 5’11” and 265lbs. Just got the Prime X 2 Strung after i fell in love with the Prime X Strung. It’s the first shoe that made me feel like I’m actually running in a super shoe. The first version still lowkey scares me, and i find myself making a conscious effort to stabilize my feet on every landing lest i roll my ankle.

    Thanks very much gents! I appreciate you giving us insights into which running shoes work best for bigger guys. I’m overweight at 176cm and ~108kg (238lb?) and need shoes that can take some punishment and keep going!
    I’m just getting back into running after a long break. I’m running in a mixture of shoes.
    I’m enjoying my old Asics GT1000 and always ran in Asics back in the day.
    Of new runners, so far I like Saucony Ride 14s, they feel firm but in a good way!
    Hoka Clifton 7s. These feel so big on my feet and provide softness for a run, encouraging me to go slow. I’m not a big fan of these as the big platform softness is not what I am used to.

    I am absolutely loving both the Superblast and the Boston 12, though they feel very different. At 235lb I find that the Bostons work really well for me, especially as they are one of the few Adidas shoes that are available in a wide fit. That being said, the Brooks Glycerin 20 in wide are the best fitting running shoes I've ever had, and I've happily run a half marathon in them, so I would say they're the best daily trainers foe me right now. Overall, there are plenty of options for us generously proportioned guys!

    I’m here for the Big Dude reviews, also very helpful for the big girls 😊
    I have the Boston 10 (looking forward to the 12s) and the Clifton 9. I love the latter but it doesn’t encourage you to run faster, whereas the Boston has a bit more flexibility.
    I think for someone who’s starting off, buy a non-plated shoe as your first do-it-all.
    What I’d like to know is, if you’re travelling (and there’s a race involved), which is the one running shoe you would take? I’m currently having this dilemma as I don’t have room for 2 in my luggage. Plus it’s going to be hot.

    • @chadwzimm
      @chadwzimm 9 месяцев назад +1

      If I could only have one shoe, it’s likely the Boston 12. In fact, I’m facing that exact dilemma as my family and I are leaving for Disney World this week and I can really only bring two pairs of shoes. Going with the Boston 12s (daily miles) and Superblasts (long run).

    Do bigger guys and gals shoes wear out quicker? I'm assuming it's just more load on the foam and wear and tear on the sole right? I'm about 165 pounds so medium build i guess.

    • @chadwzimm
      @chadwzimm 9 месяцев назад +1

      Truth be told, and I don’t have the exact science to back it up, but I would imagine more mass compression on the foam would cause it to lose pop faster, that is, assuming the outsole doesn’t get wrecked before the foam.

      @chadwzimm 9 месяцев назад

      Three words: Take It Slow! That has two meanings; don’t try to get this all done in a quick time frame, and make sure you’re running your miles slowly. You want to build your aerobic base, so try doing some alternating run/walks to build up your running base. Pretty soon, you’ll find yourself running a mile no problem. Then it will be 1.5 miles no problem. Then 2, and 3. Once you build that base, you can work on speeding things up to meet your goal, which requires 8:00 min/mile pace.
