Thank you, I already wrote my book a few years back, but i never was able to do correct indents, paragraphs etc. Because I wrote the book first and didn't have the book format set up in Microsoft Word (novice). This seems easier for me to do it the way you suggested it. I appreciate your directions on how to format the book correctly.
If you have formatted margins via Kdps site for the Graphic Novel paperback , can I use my pdf for the e-book version , or do I have to use the kindle create format (kpf) ? Also, Will the hyperlinks only work if I convert to kindle create? Thanks. Great video!
Can't say I'm impressed with KindleCreate. It imports doc files but adds a space between the first and second letter of every paragraph, title and subtitle in the book!
Sounds like a glitch in KC - it probably has something to do with the original word file that you are uploading. So what I would do is see how I can clear ALL formatting from it, except for line breaks, sizes, page breaks and the TOC, and then resubmit it. The issue is that there can be invisible characters and encoding in a word doc that when converted to KC creates some strange issues.
Hi, nice video. If I insert an image into KC and include caption text in Alt Txt window... how does that text get inserted as a image caption? how does this work?

Two questions: 1. Although this is a great program and facilitates the creation of Kindle books brilliantly, don't you also have to make sure the Word.doc (or whatever source) of your book is updated in Word too? 2. Is Kindle Creat good for stripping away any unwanted Word clutter, as I have heard that Word is notorious for adding unneeded code symbols?
Hey Alan, 1) yes, generally that's a good idea and 2) yes, Kindle Create should be able to clean up any unwanted weirdness created by MS Word. I also think that's what the preview feature is good for, you can see pretty much exactly what the kindles will show. Even if KC let's something slip through the cracks now (wouldn't really expect it to be perfect), with time we can expect KC to keep getting better, just like the KDP platform has done steadily since it's inception.
Thank you for your excellent tutorial. However, when I wanted to click on "publish" after finished my work there was no "publish" button to hit. There was nothing after the "generate" button. Please help...thank you.
Did you use Microsoft Word before going to Kindle Create❓I'm new to this and my daughter want to publish a ebook that she typed up already, but it's only on paper 📃. She never did save it on the computer 🖥.
Thank you for this tutorial and getting to the point...the other videos I was looking for did not show the extra steps you did to upload into KDP. Thank you!
The idea behind Kindle Create is to skip having to make the PDF altogether (if we're talking about getting your book up on Amazon). You export the .KPF file and upload it straight to Amazon KDP, no PDF required. Here's how to use KC for print books: ruclips.net/video/32SmA-ZpLSc/видео.html
Sure thing! :) Kindle Create is pretty simple at this point and doesn't have a feature to do that. So you could just combine all the word files into one file and then proceed onto KC from there.
I have written a book on iPad notes but when moving it from my Mac to kindle create I can not move them as you can see their there but they are faded so won’t let me add them? Any help appreciated

For an ebook on kdp, is it okay to not have citations/ references? I am writing a health book talking about studies but have not cited them, is this okay to publish?
Citing them would be best of course, since that would increase the credibility and quality of your book. And that probably is something you would want :) However, if you go ahead and put it out there anyway nobody will really stop you from doing that.
Great tutorial video. Thanks for putting this out. I have a question though, why is my file saved as .kcb instead of a .kpf? Is there any setting that needs to be adjusted that I should know? I can't upload my book to kdp because of this issue. Hope you can help me out. Thanks.
Glad its useful! If you've saved a .kcb file that means you've saved the actual Kindle Create work file instead of the kpf file that's meant for uploading to KDP. So you can open .kcb files with Kindle Create and keep working on them. Kindle Create actually asks you to save a .kcb file before you can export a .kpf file, so perhaps you stopped before the second part happened. What you can do is just hit the publish button again and follow through with the steps once more, and you should have your file! :)
Hello Tomass. It is me again. First off, sorry for keep throwing these questions at you. You seem to be the best person on RUclips for this thing. Hope to purchase at least one of your books once I get through this. My next question is on KDP. I have edited my Kindle version on Kindle Create. I was wondering if I could export this to PDF (with the appropriate formatting for 6*9) or should I start again with Word to make it ready for Amazon paperback? Thanks again.
Hi again, I am pretty sure you can't use Kindle Create for creating your print book interior file, and kindle create is first and foremost made for kindle book formatting, at least for now. So I'd suggest that you go for MS Word, it's not incredibly complex although there are some catches like setting up the page layout, correct margins and page numbering. Good luck!

Yes, you can do it. Can you do it easily? Debatable. They don't really have any special features for that stringing multiple books into one eBook. I'd say just putting them in MS Word first would be easier. Other people may prefer working directly inside of Kindle Create. So to each their own! :)
Well, in a sense this is like KDP helping with formatting since it's their software :) But in a more direct sense, no, KDP doesn't allow for any edits in your interior file.
Not really relevant for the digital format since all kindles and e-readers have different screen sizes and options to customise fonts. So the pages will look different for every reader.

Thanks! Just to make sure I understand....Once the pdf is converted to the Kindle Create format, it can be uploaded to Amazon and can be sold, right? There's no other formatting that needs to be done?
Yeah, once you're done doing your tweaks (if any) on Kindle Create, just hit the publish button and it will save your file in KPF format. Then KPF file can be uploaded straight to Amazon KDP!
Every tutorial I've viewed contains no instructions after you click on "publishing." Where do you add the cover art? Is it after you hit "publishing?"
Here, this one covers that part: ruclips.net/video/H_UVMm32OGA/видео.html
Cover art is uploaded on KDP, not here.
HI, great video! But I have one question, when preview in kindle create, which should we preview in Tablet or Kindle? Because it shows diffenrent

How do I prevent hyphenation in KDP...?
When I try to make the first paragraph start midway down the page, the preview feature shows how I want it to look. However, when I actually download my own book to check it, the first paragraph starts way up at the top of the page. It does this no matter what device I view it on.
Would I be able to import a microsoft word file?
Yes, you would.
@@BookBeam ok thanks a mil. Im about done with my first book but its all written on actual paper. Im going to transfer it from paper to Mword and then to kindle create. Do you see that as a smart course of action?
@@JNIGHTification Yup, that sounds like a good plan. Hand written -> MS Word -> Kindle Create (for kindle eBook) and then MS Word reformatted -> Print Interior for the print version later on 👍
@@BookBeam ok great....youve been a great help. Ive seen tutorials on formatting an ebook on Word but it seems to be much easier to format on kindle create.
@@JNIGHTification for sure. Especially that what you'll see in KC as you're formatting it will also be what your readers see in their devices when they read it.
With MS Word it does not always match 100% and that can cause issues.
what pictures can I insert??
Just any standard pictures should be fine - JPEGs, PNGs and so on. Best to have them high quality - 300 ppi.
thanks bro!

Sure thing - more videos coming soon!
Kindle create download link is in the description 👍
Does no one cover page numbering?
You are not supposed to do any page numbering for kindle books. Kindle books work differently - readers have the ability to change text sizes, different devices have different screen sizes, so there is no page numbering.
Thank you

great vid!
Hi, thanks for this video. Is there a way to apply a standard formatting for all body pages, instead of formatting each page?
Yes, once you choose your theme it actually applies it for each and every page. Then you can just swim through the file and clean it up here and there if you spot any formatting that you don't like.
You forgot to post link.
Just put it in the description box - thanks for the reminder, David!
Go to Google and type Kindle Create. Why is that so difficult?
