Picked up some good tips from this video. One thing people should know is KDP does not recommend uploading a Kindle manuscript as a pdf file because they do not convert well to EPUB format. You should move your Word manuscript into Kindle Create or Google Docs (both of which are free), check the formatting and save the manuscript as an EPUB file. Pdfs work great for paperback or hardcover versions of the manuscript but not for ebooks.
