Extra tips: Easiest way to justify text (makes life easier for long books) is to hit +A to highlight the entire book and then hit justify. Also - if you want all your Heading to be centered, right click Heading at the top and chose "center". Then every time you click something as a Heading, it will automatically center it. Works the same for body paragraphs and justified. Right click the Normal style at the top and set it to justify.

The reason it picked up Title of the book is because you used a page break instead of a section break after the table of contents page. You can also not use H1 for the title to solve this issue. Good video.

1. Can I put a small hyperlink on in the footer to return back to the Chapter page?
2. Can I keep the same 6x9 formatting as in my paper and hardcover books?

Just wanna know though, I have that ONE DAMN PAGE that when I page break, has an entire blank page before the next chapter and it's so annoying! When I upload this to KDP, will they remove the page for me? Or when people read my book will they just have to deal with it?

Great video! I am just curious since I look at competition it will say they have for example 324 pages. When I check out their books on Kindle there is like 160 words on 2 pages. So does Amazon format it that way? I am designing and building my pages like you show and a full book will have like 20 - 50 pages. I feel like when I publish Amazon would make the pages shorter and the books would be the same length as others who are publishing since their pages are so small if that makes sense? Any helpful insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Sean. Do you know about hyphenation in KDP for my print book? I created my book using Word, with the hyphenation option turned on ( so it appears like most other books), but in the KDP print book preview, there are no hyphens, then the formatting is off, the chapters are a little longer and the Table of Contents is no longer accurate. thanks
Always upload print ready PDF for paperback. If you are trying to upload a word file, it may not work.

I have a question. I uploaded my manuscript to kindle and now I uploaded a new manuscript Ed correcting all the errors I found but when I download then2024 version, which the sample shows, it actually downloads the older version. Am I missing something. Any suggestions as to why this is happening.

There's no need to justify the text, in my experience.

You still have return marks (Enter key) at the end of each line on the contents page. I've heard that there should be no "Enter keys" AT ALL? How would we go about fixing that? By adding line breaks for each line? I can't find this info anywhere arrrrrrgh!

You make "distance" 5 or 6 points, after paragraphs, it looks good, here Amazon writes: "Make no "distance" after paragraphs" ??? And it looks boring, I will try at least 2 or 3 points after most paragraphs. Helpful, your information, thx. The kindle display is small, and they want not great "distances" with the sentences, I suppose.
But what are the page sizes? Indents if any????

none of those work for Ebook. doc, docx, OR rtf files only.
