Creepy Motion Detecting Teddy Bear

  • Once upon a time, I hacked a talking teddy bear (see link below). The talking teddy bear was creepy on its own. But in the spirit of Halloween, I wanted to make it creepier by making it motion detecting so that it would start talking right when a person enters the room. This project basically adds a new element to a previous project. That might be something I start doing regularly (sprucing up old projects). So if you have any old projects you'd like to see me re-do, let me know!

Maybe a Bluetooth/Wifi sensor. That way it could do different things when different people are in the room.
Perhaps a "possessed" mode when it only detects the "lucky" victim is alone
    *evil grin*

You hooked the PIR Vcc up to +5V, so unless the module manual specifically says the sense line is 3V safe (which is unusual), you risk frying gpio pin 11. It's *probably* fine because a 5V output from the sensor rarely if ever occurs. If you wanted to be safe, you could use a BSS138 or similar mosfet as a level shifter between RPi and the PIR sense pin.
