    Great job! It will shove that little tractor sideways... guaranteed. Especially sticking out that far...

      Thanks. Yeah this angle view is a little deceiving, but it does stick out quite a bit. I plowed a few times last year with it and didn't have much trouble with it sliding the tractor sideways, but I see what you are saying. Just got to take it easy. Thanks for checking it out

      Oh yea, LOTS of Projection-Difflection. Just about the same "deal" with ALL loader mounted Plows. I would of just "slapped it on" the front axle & went "direct-drive".

    I'm building the same setup now. The only thing I would change is where you have the chain hanging, I'm going to run a piece of 2x2 square stock down to plow. That way I have down pressure on the blade I have a lot of places in front of garage doors where I have to back drag. For all the people saying it's too big, I agree with you. If you have one laying around why not use it.

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis  2 года назад

      Thanks! Yes I thought about that also but ultimately decided to leave the chain and also some of the sloppiness in the blade to follow the contour of the ground, allowing smoother operation and less possible damage to the driveway and or plow. Thanks again and good luck with your project

    Made mine in 2009 attached to a Kubota L2550. The main difference is I used large angle iron in place of the plate. The plate wasn't available back then. The biggest advantage to this idea is the capability of curling the cutting edge to different angles and the capability of piling the snow way up high. The only damages over the years was a piss poor weld of mine broke. I also have a grader box on. It's makes a great ballast.

    I love stick welding with shorts and t shirt. You get to pick chunks of slag out from under the first layer of your skin for the next day or so.

    That's a great idea! Can you explain why you needed two hydraulic cylinders? It seems like just one is needed on one side, extending and retracting which would move the blade back and forth.

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis  4 года назад

      Thanks for watching! Yes I am sure one cylinder would be fine. It might have actually worked out better with just one. The blade originally did have 2 cylinders, and therefore had a spot for 2, so that's what I decided to put on it. I am still waiting for some snow to give it its first real go.

      Plow cylinders only push out . You need 2 to angle both ways

    i recently got a compact tractor which came with a snow way plow, one with clear mold board. its a vehicle plow, the pump was taken off. the plow latches into the mount as it was meant to but the mount fits my loader in place of the bucket, if someone modified it to fit they did good.

      That sounds like a great set up.

    Have you trued this yet? I am contemplating the same thing but concerned at angle, if it will stress the loader arms too much? I have a mahindra 2638 hst

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis  3 года назад

      I have used it. I have a video of it being used on my channel. I haven't pushed it real hard because I had the same concern. I do think for plowing straight on it's fine. It is when you angle that I think you might overdue it with the loader arms. That being said I have used mine and it works really well and my loader is fine. If you're really concerned you could get a smaller or narrower plow...and they do make a snow plow attachment for tractors. Thanks

    Hey. New kubota lx3310 owner. I have a old cj7 plow laying around. After pushing my first snowfall i thought of this yesterday. Didn't search for it. Google must read minds. 😂 bam
    Great job. Thank you for the video. Wws debating the hydraulics since i also have a 3rd function. Considering the grapple simply opens and closes. It might work with one. Did you get hydraulics done yet?
    Saw the kubota setup at the dealer. Looks very similar. Was planning to drive back and take a picture this time. 😂

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis  2 года назад

      Yes I did the hydraulics and they do run on my 3rd function of the tractor and it does work well. Thanks for watching!

    Very nice 👍 I also repurposed old equipment and scrap metal to make tractor implements. I'm buying a Kioti 3510 this Friday adding it to our channel. If you get time stop by and check out our fabrication and build videos we have 2 good ones and more are in the works. Looking forward to Part 2 the hydraulic system on the plow. Thanks for sharing.

      I will definitely come check that out. I’ve had a great experience with the 3510 so far. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! Thanks for stopping by and watching!

    Seems a bit big for your Kioti.

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis  4 года назад

      Yes, it may be too big for the tractor. We had the plow laying around for years and I didn't have to invest that much money or time to get it up and running. On top of that we also have a skid steer that it will fit on as well. If we get any snow to plow this year I'm sure we'll try it out. Thanks for stopping by and watching.

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis  2 года назад

      Yes, it’s your standard size snow plow for a pickup truck. I’ve used it quite a few times and the tractor does fine with it. We also have a good sized skid steer/track loader, and with the plate I converted this plow to I can use it with that machine as well.
