Bands of their time payed their dues on the road. Many of them got their song ideas from jamming. That's why almost all debut records sounded like a live jam. They had so little time in the studio that they had to nail it fast. If the first record was a hit they got more time to polish the songs a bit. Sabbath released their first two record in the same year, 1970. I guess their original jams spilled off somewhat to their second record. They where still very young at that time. But you can see their progression to more complex writing.
Bill Ward once said in an interview, regarding how the band put out 3 albums so quickly, that, "the guys would get together to write and it was as if the songs were already written, as if by some mystical fifth member of the band."

Full speed ahead !! Thanx for watching Mora
Half of Paranoid was well underway when they recorded the first album. What gets me is how good they were by the fourth and fifth albums.
Incredible workrate!!

On to the "evil" riffs of Vol. 4
Definitely a few riffs Ryan
Smokin and trippin is ALL that you do... that about sums up the story of this song don't you think
Sums up a lot of these sabbath tunes I’ve been hearing !!
