I love how the mod community has essentially started remaking the entire series into KH3; the infinite remix. Also, nitpick, I love strike raid, but this version is thrown horizontally, not vertically. I think that’s how Xion performs it while Kairi sort of does it diagonally.
This is so friggin cool. And it's great seeing that Square Enix absolutely knows about this and are chill with it. You know damn well if KH was a game owned by the company where Sora recently got into their most prominent fighting game, that all these mod efforts would be shut down before they ever came to be.
At first I hated the idea of KH on PC because I thought people would vandalize the games with their crappy mods. But looking at them now they are the most authentic shit ever and I'm glad these games came to PC.

BTW, as others have pointed out, during Strike Raid, you can press X/A when the keyblade flashes to keep throwing it like in the first game. As far as I know, there's no good way to get the button prompt UI to show up, so the flash was my workaround, lol.

No lie, this is probably my favorite mod! Despite KH2 being my favorite in the series, you CAN'T forget the first game! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! So just to see any references to the first game, has my attention!! God bless these KH mod creators! I can't wait to see what else they have in store next!
I'm SO glad they fixed his hair. I know it might seem a bit silly, but it's actually vital if you're attempting to replicate that iconic KH1 silhouette. The side-by-side comparison at 3:14 is like night and day to me.

Kairi kind of had a Strike Raid attack as part of her base combo during Re:Mind where she throws the keyblade but then teleports to it! So cool seeing proper strike raid here! (some other commenters pointed out that you can continue throwing the keyblade if you repeatedly press triangle when in second form!)
I'll be she learned that variant of Strike Raid when training with Lea! As in CoM (and Re:CoM) his does that very same thing with his Chakrams when you fight against him. xD

My mans had me at "K1 Sora Battle Quotes" like whooooa, I never thought that lil detail would add so much depth and immersion. So now I understand much better why people complained about the Ventus vs Roxas-original battle quotes, when it didn't make much difference to me. Now I get it!
I could be a douche and be like: ''Technically the game has been remade cause when they made HD they had to rewrite the code" but in all seriousness, I like KH1 as it is, the game already looks amazing even though it was a ps2 game from 2002, and KH1 and 2 put a lot of other ps2 graphics to shame. Art style > graphics to me, and the KH art style is timeless to me, so I don't really see a need for a full remake, especially when they could make new games instead.
@@ntrg3248 i actually prefer the old art style and character models in the remastered versions to the KH3 models. I think its just something about the shading where the characters are trying to look realistic but emote in a strange or cartoonish fashion. To me it looked like a final fantasy game but where everyone acted like cartoons. I think the hyper expressive childlike model movements fit better with the more cartoon/anime style it was going for in the originals. I also feel like the originals had an iconic look to them with the uniquely patterned eyes and disporportioned clothes. It truly felt like Disney trying meld with anime and I loved it.

Strike raid is in KH3. Its part of second formn S for the Kingdom Key. It's the second finisher that comes available for that form. It's stun impact, strike raid, sonic raid, and finally Ars Arcanum. It just retraces past moves for that keyblade and those combos. What I thought was interesting is that infinity strike, zantetsuken, whatever you wanna call it, it's simply a shot lock in this game. Strike raid is very much in KH3. This mod might kill that source code, but it's definitely in there.
This really makes me want a KH1 remake from the ground up. I am predicting that could be announced at the KH event in April. It would make sense for the 20th anniversary and they just remade FF7 from the ground up.
Sora has 2 different strike raids. Risk raid: risk dodge over a large body. Rage raid: after a successful block in rage form, press the attack button when the command changes to “Raid” But those are the only two Sora can do as far as I know.
I love this! There was also another KH 1 Sora mod but as you mentioned, the proportions are different, so the KH1 Sora model in that mod was stretched to fit the KH3 Sora proportions and it looked very weird
I know a lot of people were upset when KH3 came to PC, but its so ridiculously awesome to see custom mods for the game. Fans really said "Wow, KH3 really missed out on a lot of opportunities. I guess we'll just make all of this content ourselves" LOL
Just seeing my iconic determined hopeful kh1 boy is enough to make me happy. But this is just god tier, up there with the Terra mod. Hope the Xion and Ventus mod will be just as neat when they'll be completed. Still waiting on a Lea mod though.
so 2 things to point out the strike raid thing yeah u can throw that multiple times. and i didn't know if u spammed the attack button it makes his attacks faster but what i do know is that like in kh1 if u time ur hits and don't spam it'll actually deal more damage. it was a thing in kh1 and they implemented it into the kh1 sora mod. which is cool
Personally I’m waiting for fans to remake 358/2 days (without the filler) using assets from kh1, 2, com and bbs all combined along with the scenes from the HD cinematic. It would keep the aesthetic consistent and many of the resources would be theoretically accessible. I’m surprised no one has started doing this publicly yet, unless the older games are harder to mod or something?
Hey uh you made a small mistake on 7:30. Strike raid works how it worked back on KH1. You can press X continue throwing the Keyblade a limited about of times (Pretty sure it's 5 times max). Other than that great video the mod looks really good!
Seeing modding like this in KH3 is fucking insane, considering how many years and how difficult it was to mod KH2. Just something like adding Axel as a neutral superboss to your party where he'd attack enemies *and you* was seen as revolutionary.
This just reinforces how much I want a KH1 remake. Maybe with a bit of rebalancing to be less grindy and for the synth items to be less annoying to be obtained.
So I see modding is where this game is at. I might have to come back to KH3 just for that. Especially if people mod in KH2 Sora and all of his drive forms, including Limit Form.

Now what we need is an actual KH2 Sora mod (which should be easy to do model wise as we play as KH2 Sora for the entirety of the II.9 portion of the game) but this time, with actual working Drive forms which could replace the Formchanges Sora has

I’d love to hear Nomura’s thoughts on some of these KH3 mods like Playable Waluigi, Explorable Quadratum, Comically Large Spoon, etc.
