would an xpipe not be desirable with the 180 headers, or was the xpipe invented as a bandaid for standard headers to try and scavenge those out of sync pulses?
Excellent Video! I accidentally made my Suzuki GS400 Parallel Twin sound like a Subaru when I built the turbo setup for it. I would weld longitudinally , welding around the tube can cause a stress fracture leading to a bent or even worse , broken tube especially on a reasonably heavy car ( 2550 lbs ). Did you consider going to a pair of flanges bolted face to face under the pan? For "easier" install/removal.
Seem to recall 180 degree headers on a big Ford (Fairlane?) having that feature. "Bundle of Snakes"?
I definitely considered it, but didn't think it would be necessary. It's pretty much an "engine out" process to get the headers off anyways.
Heck yeah i'm glad your dad is recovering nicely from that awful wreck he had.
and thats how you should be feeding your turbos, work with the pulses.
Always loved the “ball of snakes” sounds. Or 8 into 1. One of the best aspects of rear engine buggies
Yeah. The 8 into 1s don't seem to have the same sound.
@@Calvin-Nelson not exactly, no. Not not a burble either though. More than anything, I like cars that aren’t stamped in the mold ‘the done thing’ cars. Thats why I like your channel.
Great job on the 180* headers. Maybe next a tri-y 180* with 15-18" primaries to a Y and cross over with just 2 pipes and then Y collector to a Y pipe. Instead of a tri Y it will be a 7 Y.
Yeah. They don't have the same sound. Not sure why.
I really want to end up with a v8 in my Wrangler. And I've been wanting to do this. It would confuse so many people.
I'd go without the Y just to maximize the confusion. The TJ generation had a 4 and 6 cylinder option but no v8. Making it sound like a weird 4 but having v8 torque would be the point for me.
Heck yeah. Do it!!
Although I'm 66 I vote for junior. Would like to see his shopping list as I will be copying it. Digging the manual trans.
Absolutely the best description of how they work! I have always wanted to make a set, one of these days... lol
Thanks!
"Totally tubular!" Headers that is! lol
