< 28 year Army Veteran. Stayed until the end and was glad to hear NRVTA is working towards VA Education Accreditation! Good for you!
Hooaahh 11B here, I’m waiting as well.
Retired Coast Guard here.
@@TJ-bl6lr I am getting ready to retire from the coast guard
I like this Q&A thanks for doing it 😄🚌
Our pleasure!
Fantastic that you're working so vigorously to get GI bill funding.
That is the plan. Have the home self study. Looking forward to attending NRVTA.
I hope it works. Being a Veteran can’t wait it will really help me. Thks for all your help for me and all outhers. John W.
Great show are you starting a beauty channel?
What about the Hazlewood Act from the state of Texas for veterans?
Another great video. I love the Q&A style.
Todd, where's the spark plug on my diesel generator, I've looked all over and I can't find it. Just funnin' ya buddy.
;) it’s right under the flux capacitor next to the studder valve
Is there a dipstick for checking blinker fluid?
Great tips. You guys are awesome and I can't wait to get down there in Jan. 👍
Good information
Right on the money!!! Looking into something to make AC start easier GREAT!! Getting ready to upgrade inverter even though I have a 2022 Super C
Love all the info
We have solar, 400 amps of battleborne and victron inverter and soft starts so why do we keep blowing the 300 amp fuse from the panels to the victron charge controller
How can I clean my tankless water heater
How do I find out if I am not hurting my alternator with lithium house battery? I have a 2021 F150 Powerboost with tow package. TY
What about the no install software start
So I have one to test. Currently they are pulling the line for some upgrades. More to come
Can you do a video on lithium batteries? Will my solar package charge them? The camper came with two lead/acid batteries. Thanks..
We have a few videos on lithium. More than likely your converter for your lead acid will not be able to charge the lithium.
Here’s a good video to start with ruclips.net/video/VdS25vgfPE4/видео.html
well done Gentleman !
Can you put a link to the rvta certified technician list
Visit www.rvtaa.org/locate
Yes
I guess I don't understand. I am going to replace my lead-acid batteries with lithium batteries in my class "A" motorhome. Are you saying I have to install something between the alternator and the batteries or I will damage my alternator??
Possibly. Check with your manufacturer and ask. Tony had to add a piece that would block the alternator from charging the batteries while driving because it was too small.
@@NationalRVTrainingAcademy Do you have an example of a DC to DC charger that I can install for the purpose of protecting my alternator??
I attended the E3 even in October and loved hearing what you all are doing and have done.
We are relatively new to RV’ing. We’ve had our rig for approximately 1-1/2 years now.
We have tag/bumper pull trailer with a weight distributing hitch. I was curious how long you should expect the shank and receiver to last before you need to replace one or the other? Or, how much wear is tolerated before you need to be concerned about replacement?
Thank you, and keep up the great work!
Heres a question for tubular tech Tuesday . How to you remove a weathered, sun baked decal off the front cap of a 5 Th wheel .... tried a heat gun with no luck
I just added lithium batteries. Will my alternator be damaged charging the batteries through the 7 pin connector? Where in the system is the dc to dc charger placed?
If you do not upgrade the cables from the alternator/truck battery to the lithium batteries then it will be ok. Ig you are trying to use your alternator as a primary source of charging and increase the size of your wire then you would definitely need a dc to dc charger
You guys are great. I wish I could take every course you offer. This video did frighten me a little. I have a 300Ah LiFePo4 (after market) house battery on my 5th wheel. I have 100 watt factory installed solar. Am I hurting my truck by not having a DC to DC charger between my truck and trailer?
If you haven’t upgraded your wires and simply using your harness the truck came with then no it’s not as bad. You are working the alternator more but not as bad if you had large cables.
How do you clean a tankless water heater? Thanks guys.
Same way you would sanitize the lines. Vinegar water or bleach water
Thank you for the shout out lol. I hope y’all get approve faster. Welcome to working with the government where it’s “Hurry up and wait” lol
Todd, I want to add solar to my motorhome. What I can't seem to get any information is how the inverter/charger, solar and alternator play together. In my case I would have a temp sensor on the inverter/charger and solar charge controller. This might be more than 2 minutes, sorry
I would suggest going with Victron components. Citron components can be tear here together and programmed so they all know how to adjust based on the other components.
Here’s one, I only have room in the bay for my 2 lithium battery’s, however where the original battery was installed the cable hookups are there but the wire length will be a foot longer, will it still charge OK
As long as the wire size is large enough to handle the demand then it would be fine.
No issues then
Quick question. I have Honda 3000 inverter generator. When I put on my tester it shows an open ground. Have checked out several sites. Some say you have to put a ground wire on it and others don't. Bwhat is your take. Thanks
We’ll add this to our tech tip list!
What do you recommend to keep pipes from freezing while traveling in 5th wheel or travel trailers?
Blow the pipes out with air…..carefully.
If you have a heated underbelly is there anything you can do? Blowing lines is a lot of work if you’re traveling for a day
Bloopers at the end?? The whole show is a blooper 😂🤣
I think you need to rename your videos to “Todd’s twelve minute tech tip Tuesday”! LOL
Longer than 2 minutes? Who can complain? ;)
If a water softener is safe for valves & lines etc in your home, should be ok for RV plumbing. They are made of the same products these days.
I use the ClearSource triple filter (first) and softener in-line (second). I also have a built in whole-house filter. The amount of sodium is really low to begin with and after going through the whole house filter, its reduced further. You can't taste it from the kitchen or bathroom tap. If your RV does not have a whole house filter, a small carbon filter after the softener will do the same thing. Once the water is softened, the carbon filter will not add hardness.
Great video but Todd needs to move the mic down- the beard is scratching it and making a crackling sound,
Yea, didn’t notice it until it was over. That’s one problem with having Tony in the video lol
