Hey, I wanted to let you know your ads are showing up everywhere for me. This is unrelated to anything RUclips. You must have done some Google ads & I wanted to let you know they're working on my end! I hope you get some candidates from your ad dollars! ✌🇺🇸
I am on Vancouver Island. My TT has a cover and 2 containers of dryasair. It's plugged into 30 amp to keep the batteries up over the winter. Is it a good idea to have a space heater running in the trailer through the winter? It may get down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Lots of rain and some snow. The unit is winterized. My opion is no to the heater as it will cause moisture. Thanks guys
I have the suspension upgrade, Morryde 3000 with wet bolts, and I want to know how often do you grease the wet bolts and the wheel bearings? Perhaps this will be covered in your suspension video? Thanks so much for the valuable info.
I thought Red was talking about the crimped bands on the plastic plumbing (I can't remember the name right now). If that is the case would tightening them up with a crimp tool work?
i have a cable driven slide that leans from top down took apart facia on inside cables are tight slides are perpendicular to each other, chains are of equal lengths but bottom kick plates are off about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch equally slide does not have ant problems retracting or moving out and no objects under slide to keep from going out all the way is there a way to adjust this and how so thanks dave
Port and Starboard. Those are always the same, no matter what direction you are facing. Port is always the left side when facing forward (driver's side). Starboard is always the right side when facing foward (passenger side).
My wheels have a very large metal cone over the wheel hub. It appears to me that I cannot get an accurate wheel hub temperature because of the cone. Is this true? My TPMS has been showing that the right rear tire is running 10-15 degrees warmer than all of the other tires. Is this a possible indication that the bearings need inspected or repacked?
That’s a tough one, due to the temp difference you’re going to have some moisture. Especially if you’re running propane appliances like your cooktop or oven. We’ve seen some success with keeping the cabinets open to allow them to come up to room temp.
Just found your channel a week ago. Love your videos are short and sweet into the point. My question is looking to upgrade to lithium batteries do I need to upgrade the converter charger. Icurrently have a WFCO 9835 converter charger. If I do need to upgrade which one would you guys recommend?
That model does not appear to have the correct charging Voltage for lithium batteries. We are fans of brands like Victron & Go Solar. If you’re planning to upgrade to lithium, we’d recommend talking to one of our graduates who have completed our solar installation class. You can find some of them in this group. facebook.com/groups/nrvta/
Here's question you guys may want to cover: We have Carefree Awnings. If the motor goes bad and the awning is out, there seems to be no way to manually retract it. What would you do? (We would check it for 12v power first of course). Hope it never happens, but something we wonder. Love your channel!
Question: I had a passenger side wheel bearing fail, the repair company had to use a 6K 6 stud rated axel to replace a 4K 5 stud axel. Having the wheels aligned this next week, should I go to the DOT to have the upgraded axel rating show on the weight ratings for the trailer?
We are being told that the reason some of the rv’s not having ladders is because of shortages. Is that true or is it really because they don’t want us on the roof? How do you recalibrate a Bigfoot leveling systems?
I would add that ash is very abrasive as well as caustic, especially if it is raining. Think about it. The way to make lye is to run water through ashes. If it's damp and that stuff is sitting on you roof, you may want to check for any degradation on metals, glass (can be etched by alkaloids), even some plastics are susceptible to alkaloids like Lye. Normally I wouldn't bring this up, but the question mentioned 4 months of ashfall. I'd treat it as if you just spent 4 months in a heavily salty environment and give the RV a good bath and check the entire outside of the RV and change or rinse out any filters. The best bet is to not stay in a place with ashfall for long periods. That's why RV's have wheels.
I asked for a ladder to be installed on my used travel trailer when I purchased it. I was told if it didn’t have one it shouldn’t be added. Never mentioned anything about NOT walking on the TPO roof! Ugh, living and learning.
The last question I believe he was asking about the gray plastic lines where they would put in the fitting and then have a metal band and crimp it to seal it. It’s the type of plumbing that they put in my 1998 Alfa Ideal. To repair it I like to use the Flair-It brand fittings. Because of numerous leakage problems and lawsuits against the manufacturers, polybutylene pipe (PB) manufacture was stopped after 1995. It is no longer an approved pipe for water supply or distribution by the building codes, although approval was not immediately rescinded after it was removed from the market.Jan 29, 2020
In reference to the leaking crimped fitting: I think they were talking about where the water line terminates at a faucet, or other fixture. The "clamps" they use on Pex lines can weaken with age and vibration. Those have to be cut off and reclamped. Either with a new crimped clamp, or a worm gear clamp. I use a Dremel tool with an abrasive cutting wheel. Being very careful to no damage the water line. Of course, as you advised, turn off the water, and drain the pressure. Or else prepare for a shower.
Okay I was just resandtly in an area were there was major livestock and dairy and the flies and yellow jackets was so bad in my trailer that I added an exteria bug zapper. I'm serious 300 flies in 24 hours and 20 yellow jackets. When I got home to paradise Texas I opened up trailer and the next day found 30 flys and 10 yellow jackets. After opening vanity and stove slide found a 3 inch hole for 1 inch worth of wires and the bathroom skylight had a half inch cap between outside cap and inside cap. I am so sick of crap construction in campers. Until I build my own after your classes what can I do. This is a 319 MLOK Jayco Eagel for Christ sake. I expect a good quality product but found out shortly after purchase that Jaco was bought by out by another company and instead of making the ppast company good for there company they just scrapped Jaco's quality to there standards to make there company worth more. This is the reason I need to do you classes and hand build my retirement camper. Wether it be motorized or not.keep class talk comeing. Love be it

I love Tech Tip Tuesday
I want to take your online class and come in the summer after my daughter gets out of school to a class.
I use 2” heavy duty foam boards to move around (knees and hands) on my no walk roof.
My roof in north walk on and I need a recommendation on a ladder that won’t scratch my RV and one that’s very sturdy.
Thanks guys!! 😊
Why are 3 way refrigerators not offered in rvs? We had a 1992 Jayco with one and seems more versatile.
Thanks for answering my question!👍
Thanks for the info Guys. Great show 👏
So you would recommend a good ash cleaning... 😂 Couldn't resist

Great explanation’s You really know what’s up with RV’s.
I have a pop up with a/c. No
ladder. Somerset e3rd Rolled aluminum roof. plywood rule apply to this also. Love you y'all videos.
And hopefully it goes without saying but don’t walk on the roof with the camper opened up!
Fiberglass trailer with rounded front cap. I can't keep the cap shiny. Wash and wax every six months. What can I use on it that will last?
Port(left). Starboard (right), forward (front, aft (rear), good job guys, just came across your channel, became regular, keep up the good job
Front = Fore.
An aide to remember, port and left both have four letters.
Good information.
Why does my fresh water tank leak the water after I fill it up?
Don't forget to check out this week's Q&A part2 tech tip, where Todd answers your question!

Got it! Thanks 🙏🏻.
@@NationalRVTrainingAcademy You can easily remember which is which. Both Left and Port have four letters.
@@NationalRVTrainingAcademy I guess you could also say camp and non-camp sides or driver/passenger side

Even with a dehumidifier there is moisture in the slide cupboards… suggestions?! 20 degrees outside/64 inside
Thanks in advance 😁

Yup my question as well!!!!
So let’s say you DO have a walk on roof. What kind of limits are there weight wise for walking around up there (generally)?
When I asked that at the local RV dealer, they said “If you have to ask, you probably shouldn’t be working on the roof”…
If your total weight has not exceeded the GVWR then I wouldn’t worry about that.
After some research, my understanding is that DOT won't change the weight sticker when it is aftermarket.
We are being told that the reason some of the rv’s not having ladders is because of shortages. Is that true or is it really because they don’t want us on the roof? How do you recalibrate a Bigfoot leveling systems?
I like the little change up you guys are doing it’s great 👍
Due to ladder shortages, several units now come ladder prepped. Those are also walkable.

How can I find a solar installer that is certified to do this?
Reach out to Todd. @ thenson@nrvta.com and he can locate one for you.
