---------------------------------
*To stop fabric edges from fraying, mix white glue and water about 50/50 and lightly brush mixture on the cut edges of your wings. Let dry before proceeding.
*Sewing vein patterns or around edges of wings and adding beads or toupee is purely optional.
*Fabric weights vary greatly. For the wings, I like to use canvas, heavy twill, tapestry or lightweight upholstery fabrics.
*The body pieces were cut from polar fleece. The toupee' was cut from craft fur. The one I cut was a similar shape as the body pieces, just smaller. this is something you can experiment with to find the look you like best because wing placement may differ from one moth to another.

good morning, Eileen! Thank you, my friend 🥰
Adorable moth brooch! I think he needs some eye pattern, cute!
I agree, that would be very cool! =)
Thank's Nik, you make my day when I open the computer in the morning and there is a Nik the Booksmith video waiting for me. I made 5 book/library brooches to give as Christmas gifts, and i love the moth brooch as well. I'm so grateful that you have the strenght to continue making videos, but remember allso to make time to take care of your self. I know from experience it's not easy, when the inspiration hits and you forget the world around you...and then have to take medicine to cope the rest of the day. So thank you for this early Christmas gift, I think I make at least one moth fly before this year ends.
🥰 yes, ma'am, I promise!
thank-you Nik. I imagine this was a lot of work and I appreciate you GIVING us this cute guy
Ahh yes, welcome back x 3 you lovely lady. Thank you for the moth brooch, thank you for all you do. Love you .. from me .. in NZ.
Absolutely love this dog the bounty hunter moth
Thanks Nik. I laughed so hard at the toupee that I spilled coffee all over my desk. It was worth every drop. Thank you for not subjecting us to yet another Santa tag video! I needed this escape from Christmas Craft island.
The Textile Dog the Bounty Hunter Brooch is Fabulous! I laughed so hard when you said that and showed his picture. This is wonderful thanks for sharing!
So creative and cute.
Besides being a journal maker I am a textile, fabric artist. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you make this brooch. So sweet and I see one coming to the front cover of a journal soon. Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial. Donna, in California.
perhaps she'll also need to make a lightbulb or lantern that the moth is on it's way to visit. It would be fun to have removable wearable parts on the cover of a journal. I noticed she used her little needle book she made in an earlier episode.
I thought about going to the craft store today, but the line was way too long.
Lol, love the toupee reference. This is adorable! Thak you!
So cute!! As was the real moth in the pic!
Awesome! Gonna try it a bit bigger for doll wings. Love being able to pin to dress back. Thank you!
Unique!
This is great! I think I might be able to do it. Thanks for sharing the details.

I wanted to repair another book today but a moth broach is so much better. Love the wig ;) I hope you are doing OK. Have a nice pre Christmas time with the cat complaining and all!
Okaaaay. I do confess: I started repairing the book. I will do the moth later :D
I just finished a moth. Mine is brown/sand/blue with paisley fabric for the bottom wings. I used some jersey for the body. Just need to add the needle and the antennae.
That is so cute, how did you ever come up with the idea for this project. You always keep it interesting, TFS Hugs and Smiles
Good moth :)
