I have felted a ball and felted around multi needles, it’s great like a lightbulb shape. Also as I see you can colour the right one for the colour code of your needle. Gods job phillipa.😊

@@feltsbyphilippa I have tried single needle it works but for me the bulb of wool is too constricting on control of my needle. By all means give it a go, I recommend multi needle though it’s really good.

If you have an air fryer that can go low enough in temperature to bake the clay use that. Just remember to secure them down somehow, so they dont fly off. Then I use one of them universal metal pan steamers placed upside down over the clay. Cx

I love your channel so much, thanks for all your effort ❤ I don’t suppose you would consider doing a felted sushi tutorial? I’ve been desperate to try and felt different sushi and for most types I have an idea on how to do it, but it’s that one that just has rice and a slice of salmon on top, I’m not quite sure how to do the white marbling parts of the salmon slice if that makes sense? Much love from Hertfordshire ❤

Ahh... I thought they were reusable and I wondered how you would form the hole where the needle goes in.
I thought it might be a fun thing for schools, first have the kids from their clay holder and next time have them start felting. But of course with all beginners - especially kids - there will likely be more breakage so it would be a waste. :(
    -
The wool in the glass jar is my method (only it's a plastic jar my partners Tox screws were in, better than throwing it away and the plastic, even if it breaks will not be able to do as much damage as broken glass would).
    -
Just went and checked... In my Groz Beckert needle sheet I found a fork needle, a conical needle and one of their special patented needles that are available in 43 gauge - wouldn't that also be mixing life and death?
The sheet only says the range of gauges, (e.g. 18-43) so maybe they even have the unlucky ones. 43 is the highest gauge for the three needles I mentioned, that's why I know about them especially.
Then again, they are Germans. They probably just gave it a number unaware of the Chinese superstition.

Really great video Pippa and I’m absolutely loving the fox so far - if will be fabulous when finished. I make some of my handles with Polydoh Mouldable plastic. You warm it up and mould it round the needle like you’ve already done but if the needle breaks you can rewarm it, take the old needle out and then remould it. Might be worth you trying sometime xx

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  7 месяцев назад

Oh yes, I have heard of that needle, actually, I think I have one as I ordered a set of Groz Beckert a while ago. That is that theory out the window, I will continue to search! Hope you are well xx

Did you get that Groz Beckert set off Etsy? I buy from them directly, which means 500 per needle minimum. But the price per needle is amazing if you buy in bulk so I don't mind. The 1500 I have will hopefully last me a LOOOONG time.
Doing well, mostly, a little stressed. Got offered a shelf-board in a second shop for 10€ a month and no commision. They open on the 20th. So now I am speed-felting (what an oxymoron :D ) a kind of Valentines collection of tiny animals and things with hearts.
As soon as they are done I need to get ready for my course on the 26th - 28th.
I love that they want me in the new shop, but I had planned to use January for intense course prep and that's not happening as much now... It's a great problem to have, though.
Sunday before Christmas we came round to building my wool shelf. And then I finally decided on my organization concept for the wool. It's so much better and easier now the way (most of my) wool is organized. No more searching for a colour out of plastic containers.@@feltsbyphilippa
