- Unboxing and review of the Baofeng BF-T20 "Ham radio" No, it's not a walkie talkie by the UK definition or by the description on the box BUT if you want an ultra lightweight and pocketable UHF 70cm HAM band radio for the UK it might be worth considering?

Is listed under Download/Baofeng/BF-T20
Fascinating that you have a dual USB-C charging cable. The charging ports on mine (and all other versions that I have seen including WLN KD-C1, Luiton, LT-316, Retevis RT-22 and Zastone ZT-X6) are "mini USB."
Chirp Next does now list and support this model directly, and NOT via support for any the other comparable models (as you encountered).
@@DirtRoadie ....yep, it's usb-c charging on my Baofeng versions. Thanks for the update on the chirp programming. Will save a lot of faffing about trying to get software! 👍😎 Appreciate your comments. 👍😎
@@bigwill4423 To clarify - I just acquired several of the Baofengs. ALL mini-USB.
@@bigwill4423 It turns out that Chirp has a bug so that any BF-T20 programmed with "privacy codes" will not communicate with OTHER radios, although such BF-T20s will communicate with each other. The KD-C1 software does not have this issue.
@@DirtRoadie ...that's good to know. Thank you! 👍😎
i wonder if baofeng t20 has the same internal with WLN kd-c1?
@@badd.syntaxx yes, I believe they are the same radio but with different name badges.
@@bigwill4423 thanks it looks like it. just curious if they do have the same speaker and power output. can you compare it?
@badd.syntaxx unfortunately because the t20 has a fixed antenna I have no means of testing the power output but I imagine they are identical. 🤔
@@bigwill4423 oh yes you are correct, the antennas are fixed and no way to test its power output. thanks for pointing that out. i just recently ordered these unit and still waiting on the mail. i can't wait to test it out. thank you so much, appreciate your response.
where can I get the interface? I can't find it anywhere
More creative marketing from Baofeng. So a uhf HAM radio sold as a walkie talkie 😂
Other issues recently have been HAM radios advertised as CB’s
Seems to be a common issue with these pocket sized "fixed antenna" UHF radios from china Matt which for all the world look like UK compliant pmr446 "walkie talkies" but when you look a bit deeper under the skin their power output gives the game away and they are just UHF 70cm ham radios thinly disguised as "walkie talkies" . The worrying thing is that many users who buy these in the UK think they are getting a "license free" walkie talkie which they can use straight out of the box and they end up transmitting on illegal frequencies for the UK and even if they program it for pmr446 the chances are that they are still transmitting at illegal power outputs for the pmr446 band! 😲
Oh it got worse! Those frequencies are slap bang in the middle of the UK Area Assigned Business Radio frequencies. 🤦
Mines wont connect to each other

You should title your videos with meaningful information. RUclips shit this into my recommendations because RUclips sometimes does that with random videos. I only clicked through to see what the bullshit was before clicking "Don't Recommend Channel" because you don't actually want people to watch your content.
That's why you don't title your videos, right? Because you want them to be hidden forever and ever except for people specifically looking for the particular string in your title?
....truth is, I'm just an amateur and don't even know how to title a video. It's just a hobby for me and you're right, if people see it, fine, but if they don't then that's fine with me too. Apologies if it wasn't your thing.
Jeez buddy. Chill out. I thought it was a great video, really helped me on my choice of radio.
@@marcdarwin Thank you so much. 👍
Well, I searched for it by the name (BF T20) and found it. So it's perfectly labeled.
Perfect title, I found it easily. Interesting content if your thinking about buying one. 😃👍.
I saw another video about reprogramming these on Chirp; he did the same as you but had to try 2 to 3 times.
Thanks for sharing.
