    I am with a French guy and it’s true about the “dating” part. I wish America would adopt these dating habits. It’s makes everything less complicated.
    Doesn’t mean you are together forever, it could be a week or month etc... but you two are committed and seeing only each other.

    • @CIDILIABRA
      @CIDILIABRA 6 лет назад +75

      @@kibi_112 Dating in America means just that. No more. You're dating, not in a relationship. If two people are just dating, know that there's other people each person is seeing, and that they're also dating them. Dating is to test the waters here. A relationship is a commitment.

    It's 80% true based on my experience. I've been dating a French guy for less a month and the bad thing is I had totally no idea of these signs.
    1.He thought we began the relationship with a kiss and I thought it meant no more than a kiss.
    2. He really was behaving naturally at home..similar as in the video.
    3. The time I told him I made some chinese dessert he was interested. But he didn't even finish a half, and looked a little reluctant to try when he saw it.
    4. He was sensitive of everything and had an extraodinary analysing skill.
    5. He recited me a french poem and translated into english for me on the first night we spent together. Is that unique for the French?
    6. One morning when I was preparing breakfast, he said seriously he was a traditional French and italian(he's half-blood) and not going to have sweet drinks for breakfast or salty bread/biscuit, that would RUIN his breakfast :)
    7. He paid for everything. I think it's the situation with most french guys. They keep their traditions.
    Just for reference

      @@jab3593 There is a french quote for you "Voir un verre a moitié vide ou un verre a moité plein?"
      It's simple, either your reaction is
      "Good thing this glass is not empty yet😀!" The positive one wich is not really a thing in France. We try to smile and ve optimistic. I swear.
      And the second
      " Putain mon verre est a moitié plein va falloir je le remplisse a nouveau... 🙄" The not optimistic one, i call it the "real one" because it depict the bored and true side of the person, not the fake one where you keep smiling despite all your daily problems. (My brain can't procede how you manage to smile this much btw. Too much cheerfull.)
      Don't get me wrong the not optimisstic one is easily paired with depression, sadness, lack of motivation... I think it's a result of a lack of motivation and above all "hope"

    As a French man in relationship with a Scottish woman I think she would agree on the food and being too comfortable at home. She forces me to wear clothes sometimes at home while it's so hot outside !
    And first time I tried their British cheeses at Christmas I was honestly shocked. It was orange, purple, red etc. I'm polite so I tried but I struggled to finish. Now for Christmas I come with wine, cheese and foie gras (they are not fond of it so it's almost all for me that's a good plan) and everybody is happy but yeah I confess I can be a bit difficult with bread and cheese.
    When I complain too much for her she just kisses me so she found a solution to this problem.

    • @alix4543

      Sofie Desprez You're so right 👏🏻👏🏻 Paris or one person symbolize for some people a country. Lot of foreigners are real haters about us for no good reasons. I really don't understand. Personally before judging I am travelling, searching... before saying "these people are crap !" Just because. I see that a lot. It's really sad, we're just really timid and defensive so we appear cold I guess, but again, not everyone is like that. However, thank you 😊

    • @sofie5048
      @sofie5048 8 лет назад +7

      I do agree with that too.
      I still do think that a lot of people that only visited the capital have most of the time bad experiences with people there or think that everywhere else in France is the same way 😕. I actually do understand why, I'm from the french country side but I worked 3 months in Paris once. It was the best job I ever had (THE BEST), but it was so incredibly stressful and tiring because of how fast-paced everything is, how claustrophobic it's there and how people can be so rude because they are tiered and stressed too. So every night after work, I would take the metro home (45mins) and all everyone want at that time of the day is peace and quiet. So you just don't want to socialize or interact with anything or anyone, and that's the moment where people can get very rude.
      Also the other thing, this happened pretty often to me (as a woman) people interpret a lot basic manners as flitting and it's a pain in the ass. The simple "Thank you", "excuse me" or "do you want my seat?" can be interpreted as flirting. From my 3 months experience, the only people that don't think that are old people (there either scared or happy that a younger person has interest in speaking with him/her), and also moms (they love to talk about there kid, and you have a nice time too 😁).
      Again this is my personal experience and my opinion on the clicher of "rude French people" based on only Paris. 😃

      Reece Swaby you are right, "Je m'attends à ce que ..." = "I expect that ... ", kind of
      "attendre" means "waiting"
      "s'attendre/ je m'attends" means waiting with having an idea of what will occur, kind of being prepared.
      It's a expression not meant to be literally translated ( "I'm waiting for myself that" doesn't make really sense), but meant to express that you know what will happen in the future and you are waiting for it.

      While dating you just test the waters and see if you like each other and if you fit to be in an relationship (at least from what I know)
      @diana martinki: I don't know the details about your case, but as a german I assume your “jerk“ wasn't wishing you ill at all, that's just how things work here.
      I've got a friend who is dating some guy and a friend of his at the same time. But then again, that's just my personal experience...

    • @stormbringer2840
      @stormbringer2840 6 лет назад +30

      Basically dating is when we try to do things together and see if the chemistry is here , if one week passed without anyone doing anything we come to the conclusion that we are just friend . If one tried to kiss the other but got rejected ...then rejection it is .
      If one tried something and it was mutual then you moved from "dating" to "in a relationship".
      And no we don't date multiple girls ...I mean some do but "ce sont des enculés ." .

    "Sensitive about food" I remember I was about to meet a French guy that I met in an online dating app. He ate a food (I don't know what was it). His tummy didn't agree with the food which causes LBM. We have to cancel our supposedly first date. Too sad, his flight to another country was the day after that night. I'm not free on his flight date. Ending, we didn't meet. But, the communication is still good up to now. It's hard tho thinking if you can really meet this person one day.

      +Skerdy what do you mean by 'fake shit' ? Vegan cheese is often made of milk aswell, not cows milk but nut- or soymilk, so it technically is a cheese like any other...

    • @Skerdy
      @Skerdy 8 лет назад +12

      Franzay You really think that just because that nut/soy juice is *"called"* milk that means is the same as real milk... let me guess: you also believe in Santa Claus, don't you?
      Aren't you cute?!

    • @franz_no
      @franz_no 8 лет назад +5

      Skerdy
      I'm well aware that it's just blendet up nuts and water, but your 'real' milk is not meant to be consumed by humans, it's supposed to help the calf grow. The only 'real' milkl is the one you probably drank when you were a baby, but you would not think about doing that now, would you? So why drink another Babys milk? Just like your mom only produced milk when she was pregnant, a cow only produces milk when it is pregnant, meaning that everytime you are consuming any dairy product you are taking away the milk a calf would have needed, causing it to die. So while you are believing every lie the dairy and meat industry is telling you (just like CokaCola with Santa Claus ;) ) i'll stick to my 'fake' cheese and nut Juice, without killing and tortouring innocent creatures, which often tastes like the 'real' ones btw :) So please, next time try and Research a little more about veganism and 'normal' animal products before spreading lies and hate. Thank you and have a nice day.

    So true for the "overanalysing everything"' part (from a french girl) ! It can be great at first because it's always interesting to have deep conversations, but when it comes to analysing even the smallest meaningless things, it can become very tiring... However, of course, not all french men act like the guy in the video and I pretty thing you can find this kind of men (or women, because girls can do that too !) in every country, especially if the guy/girl happens to be cultivated, to have made studies and to read.

    • @natsunohoshi7952

      Not all of our cheeses are yellow, but, yes, most of them are. I think it was sometime in the mid 20th century when cheese manufacturers added the coloring in an attempt to make the cheese more appetizing and therefore sell better. It worked for some reason.

    it s fun to see how food is important in the french culture and very casual in anglosaxon countries, even in ex colonized country you can tell it was run by french or by English just on a quick visit in a market, in France eating is an art, in england it s almost a shame , and in the old day it was just rude to mention your stomach , in France the saying " ca va" means did your food went well, had a good digestion,

      Well I think it's more a "latin" thing, in Italy food is at least as important. That being said, even Germans aren't AS casual about food as English people.
      Also, I noticed that East-Asian cultures have also a lot of respect for food: Japan and Korea for example are like that. I even heard a Japanese guy saying that the cuisine of a country is its souls (I hope he's wrong, considering England and America...).

    This is why I love this channel. They keep it funny and entertaining by KEEPING THE STEREOTYPES. Of course majority act the same and normal for every country out there. But it's more unique and interesting if you add the stereotypes which most videos fail to do. Thanks for the laugh.

      Oh, please don't ! Most of them aren't like this (romantic and all that cute shit) ! Nowadays, they are all (the young ones, from their teenagehood to their mid-twenies) trying to put that "gangster" look that French girls love so much... Pathetic, right ?

    I'm a french woman and this is my german boyfriend who showed to me this channel. All these videos are very funny (and I laughed so much at the german man video, so much truth in it, less sure about french men being so romantic :p), please, make a video on dating a french woman, I would be sooooo curious!

    I'm very attracted to Slavic men, mostly because of the language, but from these videos, damn the French men seem perfect. That overanalyzing stuff, I LOVE it.
