My aunt lived in Paris for 4 years....during the 70's. She had similar complexion to yours and a full blown "Afro". She was super popular with men in Paris. They absolutely loved her!!
I had a very cute French boyfriend on my trip to Paris and he was totally like this! It was a bit much for me but it was one of the most wonderful relationships I've ever had. He would call me a princess and pour his heart out to me in texts, he would have done anything for me. The things he said to me were the things women dream about and wait a lifetime for. I still have his picture tucked into my old Paris guidebook. My week with him in Paris is one of my most beautiful life memories. ❤
I think that's older generation stuff cuz as a 27 year old, ive done this before and get cut off the next min. Ive been given bs reasons as to why. One woman told her friend when she taugh I couldnt hear "he's just to nice"
When you mentioned that “you feel attractive as a Black woman in France” I completely agree! I am an American dating a French man and when I am In France I feel seen and attractive and all in my natural state ( with just my natural hair) my French boyfriend doesn't understand why I don't wear my natural hair as often because he thinks it's absolutely gorgeous. I can completely relate and agree with all the other things you said too but the Black woman comment just hit me deep.
Juju loves my natural hair. He is always telling me that I look so pretty with it. I mean my gosh after being in a society where I’m told it’s not professional, it’s so nice.
Generally speaking in France people prefer natural beauty. Same they would prefer a Black woman who keeps her natural complexion vs one using whitening products.

My husband is Parisien and when we started dating (in the USA) it was very different because we have been together ever since our first date 20 years ago!
So honest & open with your observations & experiences!!! Thank you for sharing!!! Your self confidence & balance in perspective positives/negatives very refreshing. I wish there were classes in the USA where such open discussions about relationships, dating & sex could be available for all our children as they are growing up. I think it would make for much healthier relationships & expectations. Recognizing differences in culture & communicating your personal needs & boundaries. So healthy!!!
Yes. I’ve been super observant since birth (according to my mom). Totally agree that the U.S. would benefit from those types of classes. It’s so weird how we just don’t talk openly about it in the U.S. but all relationships (even friendships) need to be nurtured and encouraged but in different ways. My parents were pretty conservative Christian so they didn’t talk to us about sex although my dad gave me lots of advice about men when I was under the age of 13 that all turned out to be totally spot on.
I agree that American men are not committed. I am a Mexican woman and I had my share of bad experiences with American men , they like to play games, so at this point I don’t mind meeting someone from another country.
That's interesting. Being from Texas, I've dated many Mexican women (tbf most of them were Mexican-American), and my experience was that a shocking number of them were possessive, jealous, and played a lot of 'trust games' that I didn't even know we were playing. Their approach to relationships was very... severe is how I would describe it. This usually pushed me away. I'm honestly not sticking up for American men, there's plenty of them who are dirtbags. But, there's also two sides to everything. I'm sure you're a perfectly wonderful person. However, if you act anything like the Mexican women from my past, that may also play a part in why men seem noncommittal.
I went to Paris again for the 2024 Olympics and was so blown away by all the attention I received in Paris as a black woman. I don’t recall getting that much attention the 1st time but I definitely stepped my fashion/ appearance up. Cute but not over the top and I was received differently! Because of that I’m now interested in living in Paris, definitely go where you are appreciated. ❤
I love it. One day, a bunch of young men just stopped and stared at me and my little curly hair as it blew in the wind while walking past them. It was SUCH an ego boost. haha
It's so interesting that the French men want to be in committed relationships so quickly but then as a culture they have no problem with infidelity. The US is the polar opposite. Men avoid the commitment as long as possible because they know infidelity is not acceptable after they decide on "the one."
I know, it really is interesting. On two separate occasions I've been talking with a French couple and the husband is checking me out and the wife doesn't even seem to care. That would never be acceptable in the U.S., but here, it's okay. It really is an interesting approach to relationships.

@@adrielfeliseThank you for your frank views. You are a great teacher. We have the law of attraction by Denny Ray Johnson in his book, 'What The Eye Reveals', and he has observed that brown eyed people are attracted to blue-eyed people and vice versa. It works subliminally. Probably natures way to retain balance and harmony. Tolerance and peace are the key to a long and happy marriage. Romance wins the day and doesn't dilly dally along the way. We met a New York plastic surgeon in our southern coastal town in Borders coffee shop. My friend chatted with him. Eventually, he told her that he was 'a player'. Mm, an off-limits player. It's better to be with nobody than to be with the wrong one. Italy has a zero birthrate these days for their economy. Ending balkanisation.
Your presentations of different topics are very good. I watched another American woman who said the same thing about how French women keep being so slim and she said that at work, when they go eat together they might have very unpleasant comments on what someone eats etc... This episode is also very interesting and it confirms what others said too. Very interesting.
One American I know who met her French husband during trips to and from Paris used Meetic. Tinder is also a big deal here. I know a lot of people who have met their French husbands on Tinder.
I am French living in France. Believe me, the majority of French people do not accept infidelity at all, and prefer to end the relationship immediately if it happens. Infidelity is not accepted in romantic relationships. ""Les gens heureux n'ont pas d'histoire", "happy people have no history", we don't talk about couples who do not allow infidelity (it represents 99% of French people, these are the real statistics extracted from my personal... mind) but we remember the stories of the others, of the cheaters, because the French talk without taboo about facts to share and exchange opinions and like to provoke to joke in order to laugh together about disturbing subjects! 😏 Freely talking about this (and that) doesn't mean we are cheaters at all in our lives.
I died laughing when you talked about you find yourself debating the definition of a word 😂 I was on a date with a French guy and he did that, but I just found it funny and we suddenly had the most hilarious batter ever!
I just love watching your videos you always have an interesting topic on France that others don’t cover. And your videos always give me a lift when I’m low- I love your positive vibe! Thanks and I hope your channel keeps growing!
We move quickly only in Paris or big city because appartement are expensive. In countryside, we move less fast together but it's usual to buy a house together and move at this moment. For the marriage, I think french people don't believe anymore in marriage so we married each other only for protect the child in case of death and for the other legal aspect.
I would expect that a person that is not starved of intimacy and feels free to have other options somewhat quickly. Would not feel the urge to pressure anyone into sex right away. That would just make sense to me.
American guys can tend to be brusque/overbearing whereas French men are a lot more refined and sensitive/respectful. When you find the exception to the rule it's wonderful❤ i dated a French guy in college and learned a lot. Those gender role differences, whew! I waa not ready for that😂
The gender role differences were the biggest shock. Just the sheer fact he takes so much joy in cooking, my gosh!! I remember my mom coming home every day after work and cooking. My dad cooked on Sunday but that was it.
Isn't it amazing how that happens!!! All the black female lawyers I know either married someone from law school or the moment they started practicing, they met a black male doctor and just married him.
I enforce gender roles. 50/50 is not for me. I am 100 % in this so I do not need a contractual and transactional relationship. I find that people are high strung and want drama. I do not like drama. Brutal honesty is alight but we have to be kind to one another. My man is French. He is very kind and gentle.
assuming what you said about most people cheating, it makes sense that people are more respectful to not having sex since they could always just get it somewhere else
I like to know if it’s common for French men to take forever to reply to texts and also ghost people if they aren’t a priority. I understand individualism as well as family and friends are highest priority. I feel like if your not in that inner circle your ignored for only God knows how long. Someone I know is behaving like that ever since he moved back there from the US. Im very frustrated cuz I reached out to him via his social media platforms and finally wrote on his fb wall but he deleted it. We’re talking about leaving me hanging for more than a month. And no I’m not harassing him everyday about it I give him 2-3wks before reaching out. I thought the French men were direct and don’t pussyfoot around 🤷♀️ . I find it rude that b/c I’m not being treated with respect and dignity. My time is valuable.
I think that any man who does that - French or not-French - is probably someone you should just stop contacting. That is disrespectful and you deserve better.
Unfortunately, I really don't know. I know there are some similarities but I think their culture is more macho than France. I just know that Italians were the cutest darn men. I was like "go Juju, I've found a whole country of lovers." Haha
Yes, there are similarities especially in the North of Italy. Met my husband online 19 years ago and he proposed within 4 months of a long distance relationship.
As a German this "You're a lawyer? Oh.... well, do you even need me?" baffles me!!!! Like WTF O.O Those guys seem to not understand at all what a partnership or relationship is about. What a weird thing.
Yes being 60…. And single just a partner…. Education and money here in the US IS RIDICULOUS………. why can’t they be more relaxed here too…..I love to sing my partner gets irritated/ I cook I clean and it’s just fine with him/ so yes girl HE IS TOTAKE OUT THE GARBAGE LOL!!!!!!! I have never been to Paris France I need to go just to see how the Parisian men feel towards PUERTO Rican Women?..my partner does not really appreciate what he has
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that your partner doesn't appreciate what he has. Dating in the US was so ridiculous; men just did and said the weirdest things and always acted like they were the greatest thing on the face of the earth. I really started to wonder what happened to all the good men.
I am black British and have never felt unattractive - neither my black friends. Good that you've met someone but it is harder for me due to being a practising Christian. And yes in France and Italy having a side person is sadly acceptable.
I’m a practicing Christian too. You never felt unattractive in America? That’s not unexpected, I’ve found that black people from other countries never experience the sting that black Americans experience. We grow up with it, it’s in our DNA.
I feel like U.S. Americans have this very strange culture around intimacy, very unnatural and kinda toxic. Of course my opinion is only based on what I see in movies and shows and what people tell here on RUclips. But this is what I've gathered: First off it's a hush hush thing that's not shown on TV and pretty consealed between two people. In school it's this secret forbidden thing that teenagers are not supposed to do (while hormones are raging and it's a very natural age for discovering and exploring your body and pleasure, first crushes ect.). Especially girls are condemmned and seen as impure or "not a good girl" or even a whore by society. It's very linked to the fear of teen pregnancies. (Btw when teens are properly educated and allowed to be sexually active and talk about it without being shamed, there is a much lover risk of pregnancies than when it's simply forbidden and a taboo). But then in College at least guys are expected to get "laid" as much as possible and have tons of intimate relations. Later on it becomes this "thing" (again very unnatural): like a prize that a man has to win. There is all of this talk about first base, second base, lots anticipation, controvery - do you do it on the first date? The third date? What's ok, what's too soon, does it mean that it can't be serious, is the woman too slutty, does the man only want sex, is she too guarded or prude...? Like what's up with all that? Can't it just be a natural thing that two (or more) people engage in when they feel like it and want it and feel ready? Why does it have to have so much stigma, so many rules... why so complicated?
Adriel, I can tell you you right now, if you aren’t comfortable with multiple partners , your relationship isn’t going to work. It’s b say not to date French men in that case. Find a man from a culture that respects monogamy and marriage. Otherwise, your heart will break.
I don't think I said in the video that every man doesn't respect monogamy or marriage. I just said that it is something more culturally acceptable for both the man and the woman. That being said, I actually think French men respect monogamy and marriage very much - I noted how one friend told her partner she wanted to wait until marriage and he said okay with no questions asked. Men (or women) from all cultures are capable of cheating so its really about finding a partner on the same wavelength.
Have you ever read Lessons From Madame Chic byJennifer L. Scott? The mother of the host family had a conversation with Jennifer about a pea green sweater she was wearing. It wasn’t her color, and the host mother brought that to her attention, which I thought was interesting, in a good way.
Highly disagree with your “very American” view on the level of difficulty for a foreigner in America vs France. While it may be a bit more difficult to gain French citizenship, as a child of immigrants taxes were not the only thing my parents had to endure to live in this country. From operating daily with limited language proficiency to getting the correct documents and authorizations to work, meeting with lawyers, waiting years for appointments, having to leave the country every 6months to renew your visa while you wait, finding a job that will sponsor your work visa and not screw you over, the difficulty finding housing because you don’t have “credit history” so you have to pay months in advance, then adding children to the mix. Yeah….taxes are the tip of the iceberg.
Well thank you for your comment. However, this was not a video about the level of difficulty of being in a foreigner in America vs France. This was a video about the differences between dating in France vs the U.S. I can’t do a video on the differences or difficulties between being a foreigner in the U.S. vs France because I have never been a foreigner in the U.S. I am a U.S. citizen by birth. Please note, however, that we do have a policy of respect on this account.
The divorce rate for people who live together before marriage is 80 % or higher‼️It’s so much better to save sex until the wedding night, doing it God’s way as it says in the Bible❣️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻👫❤️
@@coreymyers7409“Abstain from fornication.” (1 Thessalonians 4:3) The term “fornication” refers to all sexual relations outside of marriage. That would include sex between a cohabiting couple, even if they intend to get married.
Jesus’ mom had him before marriage. I think you’re just regurgitating your culture, and applying to the Bible and others. Don’t say what isn’t there. Take off your cultural lenses, or please don’t travel. Please keep your religious views in your area where it’s acceptable. What is normal to you is insane to others. If it works for you, then by all means do you. But stop stop stop inferring that others should get onboard with your religion, and that you have found the “correct” way.
The comparison is very interresting, but i thing that a lot of thing you said apply to white french people only. Infidelity is definitly not a norm in France. Infidelity is the first cause of divorce, money the 2nd. Gender role is really strong among french diversity ( African, arabic, indian etc ...). In Paris most white people are atheis that why they don't married but get a pacs. The pacs allow you to pay less tax

I’ll do a live in the coming weeks and I’ll chat about that.
Yeah, the level of criticism in this country is very high. I can't imagine growing up like that; it would've made me feel so insecure.
Yep! I felt unseen by men in the US.
So sorry; know that feeling.
How do you set up dates in advanced? What platforms / apps do you recommend?
One American I know who met her French husband during trips to and from Paris used Meetic. Tinder is also a big deal here. I know a lot of people who have met their French husbands on Tinder.
@ I can’t believe it. Where I’m from tinder is just for hook ups and they won’t even take you seriously if they met you there. IM MOVING TO FRANCE 🇫🇷
Great video !! 😃
Oh my gosh. I’m so glad it made you laugh. It makes me go insane hahaha
Wonderful. Being in the States, we are considered undesirable. I’m glad you are having success there. ❤
I just love watching your videos you always have an interesting topic on France that others don’t cover. And your videos always give me a lift when I’m low- I love your positive vibe! Thanks and I hope your channel keeps growing!
Thank you so much! I’m glad I can help.
@@adrielfelise same!
"This is not a communal activity!" LOL MDR!
It is not!! Hahaha
OMG. I am a black female lawyer in the States. This has killed my love life.
I am so happy. I found Your channel.
Awww. Im happy you’re here.
I am happy that you feel confident and attractive. You should ❤
assuming what you said about most people cheating, it makes sense that people are more respectful to not having sex since they could always just get it somewhere else
@7:35 aaw! ❤️
What line of work are you in over there in Paris? European mean in general are far more chivalrous and respectful say than American or Australian men
I do legal consulting.
Adriel, do you know if the men in Italy are the same way as French men?
Unfortunately, I really don't know. I know there are some similarities but I think their culture is more macho than France. I just know that Italians were the cutest darn men. I was like "go Juju, I've found a whole country of lovers." Haha
@@adrielfelise 😄
Yes, there are similarities especially in the North of Italy. Met my husband online 19 years ago and he proposed within 4 months of a long distance relationship.
These French social norms regarding relationships are heavily replicated in Haitian culture.
As a German this "You're a lawyer? Oh.... well, do you even need me?" baffles me!!!! Like WTF O.O Those guys seem to not understand at all what a partnership or relationship is about. What a weird thing.
That's why they can't handle a woman as president. American men don't know what to do with strong women.
9:30 She is a beautiful woman. How can she say she was feeling 'undesirable"?; 15:39
@@adrielfelise no more good ones…not in US at least.
I don’t like the lover crap either…. If you sleep with several lovers you sleep with the last 20 people they have slept with.
The male ego is real fragile in Amerikkk, the men now consider themselves the prize😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes, the eating thing! What's with that? I'm glad it's not just me thinking that.
Why does it have to have so much stigma, so many rules... why so complicated?
yes, whoa!!! ha ha.... slow down, boys.
I have to find my dads sister. I know my grandfathers buried in La Havre. So I guess I’ll land in Normandy
I love Normandy. It’s beautiful.
I love your viideo.
Merci
Are you working as a lawyer in Paris?
Noooooo
Oh, boy. That’s not what that means…
What's not what what means?
Have you ever read Lessons From Madame Chic byJennifer L. Scott? The mother of the host family had a conversation with Jennifer about a pea green sweater she was wearing. It wasn’t her color, and the host mother brought that to her attention, which I thought was interesting, in a good way.
No, I haven't heard that. But that is a classic French mom comment right there - not surprising in the least haha.
@@adrielfeliseJennifer has a wonderful RUclips channel
Amerikkk is moraless.
I think it is better to have kids before getting married. Then you are sure he is a good father before making that commitment.
Huh? That logic is backwards. A child is a permanent relative and marriage isn’t permanent
The divorce rate for people who live together before marriage is 80 % or higher‼️It’s so much better to save sex until the wedding night, doing it God’s way as it says in the Bible❣️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻👫❤️
Where in the bible does it says this
The bible doesn't say that.
And what is it for people who wait? And, who says those people not divorcing are happy?
Sharing my man?!🤯
The comparison is very interresting, but i thing that a lot of thing you said apply to white french people only.
