Adult female goats are not known as ewes, but as does. It is frustrating to hear the incorrect reference. Is the script proof read before production?

"8 rarest goats" in the world??? Nope. Oberhasli is one of the most POPULAR 😅
Valais goats are not rare either - quiet famous and popular in the Alps.
Golden guernsey are gorgeous (i had them!) But not that rare any more (thank God!) Quite popular all around the UK.
There are dozens of feral goat populations in the world, most islands in the world had them tbh, as sailors used to release goats on uninhabited islands for future food source.
Bagot goats come from the same genetics as Valais from Switzerland- which were originally brought to Europe by the crusaders from the middle east, where to this day yoi find similar looking goats. Bagot goats were kept as ornamental animals in the large estate in Staffordshire, England for centuries.
Girgentana is a cool goat! Descendes from "goat antilope"??? What the hell is that??? They are definitelly NOT mistaken as sheep. 😂 they are really cool though!
There are HUNDREDS of goat breeds in the world which are way rarer than any of the ones you mentioned!
E.g. in Poland there are beautiful Carpathian goat - very small, with large horns, pure white in colour, long fur with a very distinctive fringe! They look amazing! They were onky kept alive by highlanders in Poland - otherwise lost! Only recently becoming popularised in Poland
Another one is Sandomierz goat - another small breed mostly speckled with all sorts of colours and markings - good homestead milking goat.
Lastly Kazimierz goat (from the region of my grandfather) only rediscovered in few remote farms few years ago - completely black with yellow eyes.
Polish government in 1940s (i.e. the communists) declared goats as "non agricultural animals" therefore cutting down on all subsidies and actively discouraging from keeping them 😢. Fortunately there were some stubborn highlanders and smallholders who kept them through 50 years of communism in Poland!

There aren't alot of pure bred oberhasli's. The original alpine line are plentiful, but the US line is a breed in its own right. And there aren't alot of them around that are registered for breeding. So most of the ones in circulation are not pure at all

@maciejgronowski oh good gracious. The US line and the Alpine lines, are two separate species. Yes they started at the same point, but the US line has been classed as a breed in its own right
