Both bands he was in before slipknot said the exact same thing - to the point that he would go behind the bands back at shows and tell the lighting guys to focus all the lights on him..bruh..youre not the star lol..usually thats the lead singer or the entire band people want to see most not the fkn drummer. Joey was beloved and obviously SLipknot loved to show him off with his upside down/spinning drum solos..thats when you let a member shine, Jay didnt earn that and he didnt deserve that treatment to think he was top shit. So we can stop with the Jay was kicked for no reason shit - just because slipknot isnt speaking out on it, staff is and again previous bands.. if 2 bands are saying he was a problem are you going to say slipknot was wrong? or MAYBEEE ..Jays a fkn dick head that cant perform Joeys music live correctly - which are some of Slipknots biggest hits. and im sure slipknot brought these things to his attention multiple times before booting him, you dont just boot your drummer and have to find someone that can play all the music and train them and all that shit.. Jay is a great drummer but that dont mean much if youre an asshole that the band doesnt like and youre fuckin up shows. Bands are a business, i know that hurts some peoples feely feels but they arent doing it just for fun, its their livelihood. What happens when 10,000 fans that experienced a bad show get on reddit and say it was a bad show and the people thinking about purchasing tickets are like ehhh maybe i wont buy those slipknot tickets? now youre losing money for the band, now you gotta go.
They way I heard it is Joey started having lower neuro muscular problems and it depressed him he may have taken drugs but his health issues is why he left at same time he was trying to form another band. So it wasn't all negative.
They loved Joey so much that none of them spoke a word or reached out to him for 8 years before he passed. Such stand up dudes. Unfortunately this band died when Paul died.
Joey in my book was and is still the best drummer of all times he was so different with what he came up with in those songs he just blew my minded and my thoughts on how drums are suppost to be played and Paul was the same in my eyes one of the best of all time and i miss them both so fUc#!Ng much it brings tears to my eyes 9n a daily basis slipknot Will always be my favorite bad of all-time i hope to work with Cory Taylor it's my dream i have been playing guitar since I was 7 years old not one lesson but i think I'm pretty good but o. I miss both of them so much & I think about them quite often . I have two slipknot tatts , so it's a constant reminder for me ... I'm sorry, how did being heartbroken kill Joey? He was suffering from transverse myelitis, neurological diseases are nasty and pretty fatal. Joey was kicked from Slipknot so long ago that he had plenty of time to move on, he formed a band n shit, and didn't hold a grudge against Slipknot, at least that's what he said. I don't condone what Slipknot is doing or rather what Corey and Shawn are doing because they are by law the only members of Slipknot with rest being employees, but you just have to get over the fact that Joey died because of a disease, not because of being heartbroken.

Yeah. But I can understand why. Your bassist dies of an overdose, and all of a sudden your drummer is high out of his mind all the time (early stages of joeys condition looked like the side effects of hard drugs) I can see why.
