      Hello Ant-Man (thanks autocorrect) whose video made me get a Gabro airbox for my 22 tuono. Kind of wish I didn't use my free gabro map code on the stock setup, and just got a slipon with a map to begin with. The airbox only seems to give a bit more torque everywhere, power wise not really noticeable until 8-10k.

    Had a Tuono Factory and it was absolutely my favorite street bike. Amazing machine that can do it all, just about. Once you get really deep into the track scene the electronic suspension starts to work against you. But outside of that very niche use case the Tuono is incredible. That sound is also unbeatable. Love it!

    I have a 2017 Tuono V4 RR (the Factory is actually the "cooler" version). I'm extremely happy with it. It is an absolutely brutal bike that is very rideable and shockingly good for mid distance rides i.e. less than 3 hours. It has 11k miles on it and it has given me zero issues. If* I ever sell it, it would realistically only be for a new one. Cruise Control, quick shifter, on the fly Wheelie control and TC, pit function, lean sensitive TC and ABS, and that incredible V4. Just absolute perfection and worth every penny I spent.

    I've owned and ridden many bikes in my day, most of them liter bikes and my tuono v4 factory is hands down the best bike ive ever owned. Near perfection in every way stock but its fun to mod some. Ive installed motogadet bar end mirrors, upmap, a tasty pipe (currently acrapovic but have austin racing on order. The stock pipe contains the cat and a valve so a map is necessary as well as deleting the valve motor and cables which takes a little time), rizoma brake reservoir, new rage fender eliminator, carbon fenders/side panels, crg clutch/brake levers, factory gel seat, factory usb add. Honestly the mirrors were the only thing I couldnt deal with but that goes for most naked bike mirrors where you can see your shoulders really well and not much else but the bike is just brilliant otherwise.

    Had looked at the non-factory version of this. Looks like an amazing bike. Have a 16 Aprillia shiver and want a tuono 1100. Makes me want to test ride a factory version. My favorite part of my shiver is how torquey it is imagine that tuono has torque to spare.

    • @DukeOfTwist
      @DukeOfTwist Год назад +2

      Get the non-factory, if you can set the suspension yourself you don't need to waste the extra $. Rear seat n grab handle makes attaching any luggage a breeze. Wind protection is heaps better even if you ditch the big screen as there are extra little fairing pieces that stop wind blast up your armpits. Also non-factory is geared higher 15/40 compared to 15/42 on factory.

      BMW is good but that inline 4 does not give you the same feel as the Tuono. So go with the Tuono they are addictive.

      Aprilia don't change much in between the years... 2016 was probably the first of the newer generation... 2017/2018 had new colours, nicer dash and blipper; 2019 got semi-active suspension... 2020/2021 they changed the looks and upgraded electronics... the moment you see the newer fairing (2020/2021) they're 99.9% the same as the subsequent years, just different colour schemes... (RR vs Factory is of course always a bit different in the suspension area, and since the newest gen the RR is also a bit different in handlebar, passenger seat, windscreen etc)

    What are you comparing this bike to? As usual, when it comes to this bike, there's lots of gushing and praise, with very little insight. For example, how does this compare to the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS? It's okay to love this bike, but everything I hear about it makes it seem as if all of the other bike makers in this segment might as well close up shop, because this bike is unbeatable.

    How do you think this compares to the S1000R?

    • @joeridestrijcker445
      @joeridestrijcker445 4 месяца назад

      my gf had a S1000R for 4 years while I had the Tuono 2016... The S1000R is nigh perfect: stable, excellent build quality, the semi-active suspension worked well, front brake was very sharp (at least on the road)... IMHO it was 99.9% perfect, objectively. But the perfection, linear acceleration and raspy-metallic exhaust sound got boring very quickly. I'm on a 2023 Tuono now and had an RSV4 in between... The Aprilias NEVER get boring and the exhaust note keeps giving people eargasms. I let a friend (experienced racer and rider) ride both back to back... and on the 3rd part of our trip I let him choose which bike to ride back to my place: he didn't hesitate for a seconde: 'let me ride the Tuono!!' ; If you buy with your brain, the S1000R is probably the very best choice

    I love love the aprilia sound so much. But I heard the reliability isn’t very good. I have 3 friends with aprilia’s and they are always in the shop. My friends aprilia was in the shop for 3 months due to a oil leakage. My other friends aprilia is busted due to his ecu 🤷🏻 there is always something wrong with their bikes. It felt great to ride tho with all the rider aids but man I just can’t purchase one. But I do have a R1 and I love it. It’s the greatest bike I probably owned. ❤

      I can't speak for everyone but I've got several thousand miles on my 22 v4 factory with no issues and I ride it decently hard. I also do all of the service myself. One area to be careful of is the oil drain plug and it's essential to torque that properly but everything should be torqued properly anyway.
