What are some of your OC ideas? I'd love to hear them and maybe draw some based off the reference sheets you made!!! Once you finish this video, check out this one! 🔴How To Make a 3D vTuber for FREE bit.ly/3zKre3m
At first I imagine him/her in my head, write it down before I fall asleep. And on next daybInrun through tags to find the picture that might fit the character I wish to create :)
So.... any ideas here, huh? Guess i'll go for it then.... (skip to end if you don't care) My character is Imago Dralin Minus, a soul gifted with greatness, but held back by corruption. his physical appearance is usually that of a regular humans, just with the purple eyes with a black base. His build is less masculine, even feminine in most ways, which is only disguised by rather baggy clothes. He stands tall at 5"11 feet, or 1.80 meters, with grey-ish skin ("looks dead"), and he looks as unfit as he really is. His hairstyle is rather common, chocolate brown mid length hair with only a slight gap in his bangs above his right eye. His facial expressions are usually on the serious, but tired side, with less smiling and more focus. He wears casual clothes consisting of an open baggy black jacket, purple shirt, dark blue jeans and black sneakers. In addition, he wears purple sweatbands on both arms and always has a facemask prepared for "dirty-air"-situations. All that however is only part of his "sealed" appearance. To explain that, you'd need to know the story, and since his sealed form is as bland as it looks, i can get into it right away: By fate, he was meant to be the hope of humanity, destined to develop his powers to fight the greatest eveil there is (the usual). However, before he was even born, the corruption found him and manipulated his body, mind and his life to severely limit his potential to that of a below average human. His emotions are to be kept within to ensure that nothing goes wrong, whilst he could never enjoy his life for he lacked the freedom, ability, understanding and even the mercy of coincidence to do anything he wanted. That has left his mind unstable, and if his self control finally fails, he will enter a new "unleashed" state, which changes his demeanor, appearance and the intensity of his powers to a beastlike persona: As this unleashed self, his hair lengthens midway to his torso, getting partially "spiky" from the wild energy and partially shining red, and in the gap of his bangs forms a single red glowing horn. His eyes turn a glowing red, and black stripes flow down from his eyes parallel down his cheeks. His once tired look is now menacing, crazy, that of bloodlust, aggression and no more worries. His ears get pointy as well and his teeth are like fangs. Where his casual outfit once was is now a strange kind of crystallin tighter dark/black armor with lines of red light emanating from any edges and gaps. It covers his upper torso and his entire lower body, leaving the midriff partially exposed with a strange blood-red fabric covering that. It is also on his forearms like bracelets, and the red energy is focused on his chest and the backsides of those bracelets. Red see-through shapes manifest around his body, further adding to the mysterious and threatening aura. Energy also emanates from his being like in Dragon Ball. His movements are much faster and chaotic as well. (a "harmonic" form is planned in the future, which would partially resemble my current avatar's appearance plus some extra details and changes. It would be achieved by becoming the destined "Soul Avenger", by encountering the lost souls in the void and harmonizing his two personas into one dynamic being.) I hope this is fine, just tell me if it isn't. I don't really know what was to be expected from your comment. (where do i put the reference sheets? i know not here, so where else then? Just warning though: i am loaded with ideas!)

I actually use this method for commissions and character art. Quite a few of my clients find it strange that I ask for so many details, but it really does help me better understand what they want me to draw. I think the thing that weirds them out the most when I do this is that I ask about the personality of the character(s) they want me to draw. This actually helps me a great deal in figuring out how they present themselves and how to really bring them to life. When I get the answers to these questions, the final result always succeeds in blowing my clients away. I may not be the most skilled artist in the world, but I do know how to give life to my drawings and make them feel real and fill them with emotion. It's a talent I've had ever since I was little. @@reaperr__scythe__5763 Well, I guess it depends on the artist and the quality of their art. For me, my cheapest price is $6 for a simple line art headshot without any base coloring. My prices go up from there for colored art to greater details.

Thanks. I suck when it comes to drawing but I'm pretty good describing my characters, so having a way to organize my ideas to make it easier to commission is a super great help
This was really helpful! I had an idea for a very warm cozy character like a cup of tea and using Pinterest or mapping out the specifics of my character helped a lot! Now I have almost everything i need to start. All i need left is a story!
Well, I am studying at an art school because I want to specialize in the area of conceptual art and animation, but I would still like to do commissions for people who want to be VTubers, so this is too useful for me to practice and improve, thanks!
This is actually very helpful for me since I don't do 2D characters because my drawing skills SUCK I can use a description type character sheet and make a 3D model biased off of it
First of all, this is insanely helpful! I can draw a bit, but sometimes references are a pain to detail, so especially the templates help a lot in this situations Second of all, honestly i can't see myself using anything other than a victorian era banshee as an OC. They're regular spirits until provoked, which i kinda like as a base
I'd like to add, as an artist, even a crappy crayon drawing can be super extremely helpful as a reference. It can be scratchy, sloppy, lopsided, and poorly done, but it gives a super solid base for the artist to apply the descriptions to later
This is such a good idea! Even if you can draw, actually creating a moodboard or ref sheet here before going into your character design would be so helpful. Im currently going through designing/redesigning my OC to start creating my model, and im not being very consistant, this would be super helpful to keep me on track!!
Hi! im new to your channel (and youtube) and i just recently found interest in being a roblox youtuber. but when i saw a few vtuber videos, they looked super fun and i wanted to try it but i couldnt draw that well. I then saw your video and helped me realize the basics! this really stepped up my game and now im currently working on a character! thank you so much for helping me and others. you bring kindness to this world :>
Omg i never thought youtube would help me create my vtuber model cuz i was planning to do vtubing soon, I've been planning my model in quite weeks now (done some sketch and details) but I'm taking as much as i can will prolly take more years to finish. This actually helps me tysm!!
I generally find a base and start drawing stuff on it. I literally have NO skill at drawing, but with the base, I can give the general inforation I want, like the shape of the neckline and sleeves, hair, shorts of skirt, what kind of shoes, etc. It's a lot easier to understand than a paragraph description. I do use refs, but just for me really. I want to be the one to design the outfit myself.
I’m so glad I already have my own original character developed anime on the other hand really is a lot more detailed so I guess you would need a character sheet like this.
some character creators like charat or heroforge are pretty good solution too, I personally use them a lot to develop an idea of characters and then draw my own based on them
Thanks so much for making this video. I'm terrible at drawing detailed designs, (and serious drawing in general) but this video helped me draw out a character sheet for my Vtube avatar just using basic shapes and colors. From there my artist I commissioned was able to take my very basic drawing and give it life. It just made everything go so much smoother. I wouldn't have had the confidence to draw my design without this video. ❤
I can make 3-D models but this was very helpful and a very simple were just using a character sheet. I really appreciate this trip very helpful it’s been a conundrum for a while and now I feel like I can find that flow again
I'm learning to draw but it was very interesting to watch this. Going to watch more of your tutorials in regards to art and Vtuber stuff to sate my curiosity.
This was perfect! Thank you so much, I've wanted to start for so long but I had no idea how to make a character sheet or even where to start. You're a legend!
I am so excited to start creating my vtuber! I’m very thankful that I have a bit of both skills so I can draw my model and also create the ✨lore✨ required! Thank you so much for the informative videos!!
I wish I had seen this before I commissioned my own model ( which I'm already waiting for sketches of ). Now I know if I ever end up needing a new model.
As a character designer and reference sheet artist I'll def recommend this to anyone willing to comm me next time. Some people have very vague descriptions or ideas too general to make anything decent out of. Thx for the great vid, not useful for me personally since I'm an artist, but definitely recommending it to clients and friends that aren't comfy art wise
i can draw but this is still good advice to anyone who does having that as reference is so helpful i use google images instead of pinterest but it still gives so many good ideas and helps me not to repeat anything to many times
Once again, amazing video! I can obviously draw and did my OC (dream VTuber? lol) and owned a few I designed myself, but this is helpful on capturing the mood or an idea! - Reppanyo
i'm planning on trying out drawing my own oc as a model, but I have no idea how vtube models work since I've only worked on illustrations in the past, so this does help a lot with my workflow in the future
thank you! im starting a pngtuber (more of a basic vtuber) and i dont have money to hire someone, so the 3d model has really helped me make a character!!
ohmygosh this is so helpful!! I wanted to make a vtuber design but had no idea what I really wanted to go for yet and kept drawing random ideas but they dont feel right! ♥
This is so detailed. I'm hoping to do this so I can possibly jump into trying out being a VTuber. I'm no artist, but this can help give me what I'd want..
When i realised what this consisted of i Kinda cheated, but I literally used reality to start my sheet it may be basic but thats my design. 😊 even made PNG images for a more realistic look. Then I just started making lore. 😅 imma have to commission you hehe (eventually)
I'm loving your videos. Looking to create my own vtuber model. you and a few others have been really helping me understand how this works. As for a model, I've been thinking of a cozy, kinda lazy kitsune boy. He has a red and white color scheme, but more of a drab red rather than super bright. He's a bit chonky and he has no tails yet because well, he hasn't achieved anything. Even though he's kinda lazy he is eager to prove himself because of this. lol I know that went a little long, but I have been thinking about this for a while now and really like the concept.
Thank you so much for all of your helpful videos. I binge watched every single one and you helped me a lot in making the decision to start my own vtubing journey. I saw your first video about two weeks ago and I'm so happy to see that your numbers here on RUclips are rising fast. Your tutorials and the whole branding of your channel are amazing and I love listening to your voice which also fits your characters extremely well. It's very entertaining. Wish you all the best for your channel and I also hope many more people and opportunities will find you :) Keep up the great work!
Your videos help me so much with my vtuber model!! it's my first time ever putting so much work into a project and it's quite overwhelming... My vtuber is based around a soft pastel aesthetic so i really hope i can bring that vibe to life
This really helped me with creating my character sheet, I'm really excited to start drawing my character's general design, after that is completed I will very soon be able to pick a pose in which I will make my very first 2D avatar model, I'm looking forward to testing my skills and abilities in the field of animation and character design, wish me luck! thanks for all the help ^v^
This is so useful! I know how to draw but starting to draw is the difficult part, I somehow wanna progress but not draw at the moment. Thank you! I love your editing skills and visuals.
I don't plan to become a Vtuber, but I play a lot of TTRPGs and sometimes it can be a real pain (if not impossible) to find that perfect reference. Having this kind of set up to piece meal it together for yourself is amazing (and then if you're feeling comfy and confident you'll stick with the character, can give it to an artist as a commission). Thanks for the lovely idea~

This makes a lot of sense. I'm gonna have to commission someone to make mine. I have the artistic skills of an out-of-water trout. I have a few ideas, TBH. Jim Sockman - A sweaty, dirty sock puppet with googly eyes and a backward navy blue hat Oranji Pansā - An anthropomorphic panther in a kilt Subarashī Onaka - An anthropomorphic ankylosaurus in a business suit
i like the style of looking badass but i also like cutesy looks but i dont wanna look like a pastel goth so this decinitely helped me control my style lol
it's easier to be honest to make your oc in gacha club/gacha life whatever you have, since it has a lot of accessories. I recommend gacha club though since it has adjustments and more accessories than gacha life. It's basically just assembling your character with the clothes and things you have then you can screenshot the parts you want for the character sheet then you're done hope this helps :DDD

This was really helpful! I had an idea for a very warm cozy character like a cup of tea and using Pinterest or mapping out the specifics of my character helped a lot! Now I have almost everything i need to start. All i need left is a story!
Probably thinking about becoming a VTuber in the future- I can draw but my skills are limited, so I really appreciate this video!
good luck :D
Well, I am studying at an art school because I want to specialize in the area of conceptual art and animation, but I would still like to do commissions for people who want to be VTubers, so this is too useful for me to practice and improve, thanks!
This is actually very helpful for me since I don't do 2D characters because my drawing skills SUCK I can use a description type character sheet and make a 3D model biased off of it
First of all, this is insanely helpful! I can draw a bit, but sometimes references are a pain to detail, so especially the templates help a lot in this situations
Second of all, honestly i can't see myself using anything other than a victorian era banshee as an OC. They're regular spirits until provoked, which i kinda like as a base
Thank you, updated my vtube order and the artist was much happier now that it was more structured.
I fact that she had baby cats on her “Ideas for you” is just 🌸⭐️
Hi! im new to your channel (and youtube) and i just recently found interest in being a roblox youtuber. but when i saw a few vtuber videos, they looked super fun and i wanted to try it but i couldnt draw that well.
This actually helps me tysm!!
i’m an artist but this video was still so helpful for coming up with character designs!!
You out here saving lives, so glad I found this video
I generally find a base and start drawing stuff on it. I literally have NO skill at drawing, but with the base, I can give the general inforation I want, like the shape of the neckline and sleeves, hair, shorts of skirt, what kind of shoes, etc. It's a lot easier to understand than a paragraph description. I do use refs, but just for me really. I want to be the one to design the outfit myself.
fool! You have given me the power to create a chaotic space jellyfish persona! It's all coming together...
mwhaahaah DO IT!
@@MariYumeCh OH I'M WORKING ON IT HAHAH!
Though I wish I could show it somehow-
I’m so glad I already have my own original character developed anime on the other hand really is a lot more detailed so I guess you would need a character sheet like this.
some character creators like charat or heroforge are pretty good solution too, I personally use them a lot to develop an idea of characters and then draw my own based on them
Thank You Very Much, The Idea Of Browsing Pinterest For Drawing You're Vtube Model was Very Helpful.
Ty yume chan it was very helpful and very easy to make a vtuber character
I’m so glad I found you
I can make 3-D models but this was very helpful and a very simple were just using a character sheet. I really appreciate this trip very helpful it’s been a conundrum for a while and now I feel like I can find that flow again
I'm learning to draw but it was very interesting to watch this. Going to watch more of your tutorials in regards to art and Vtuber stuff to sate my curiosity.
Thanks for letting me know about the basics.
This is actually useful for my game character sheet which I haven't decided the design until now.
I've been watching SO MANY videos on how to make a 2D Vtuber, and you have really helped me! Thank you, Mari!!
i can draw but this is still good advice to anyone who does having that as reference is so helpful i use google images instead of pinterest but it still gives so many good ideas and helps me not to repeat anything to many times
Once again, amazing video! I can obviously draw and did my OC (dream VTuber? lol) and owned a few I designed myself, but this is helpful on capturing the mood or an idea!
- Reppanyo
this was a great help for in my journey to find myself/Avatar
I never thought doing things this way... This was helpful
I don't want to make a vtuber but this method could actually be useful when designing a character!
To be honest I wasn't even thinking about making a vtuber oc, until this video but I will most likely save this information for the future.
pinterest is my best friend, so this was really easy to make! ty for the vid
i'm planning on trying out drawing my own oc as a model, but I have no idea how vtube models work since I've only worked on illustrations in the past, so this does help a lot with my workflow in the future
thank you! im starting a pngtuber (more of a basic vtuber) and i dont have money to hire someone, so the 3d model has really helped me make a character!!
Thank you, this is very helpful.
Glad it was helpful! I look forward to seeing your OC design Katsujiwa!!!
I already had the pinterest board and was looking for how to narrow down choices then came across your video! Super helpful, thanks so much!
ohmygosh this is so helpful!!
If I were ever to be a vtuber I would use my gacha oc it would save time for me and for the commissioner
I wonder if gacha is still popular, its deff something you can try!
Even though he's kinda lazy he is eager to prove himself because of this. lol I know that went a little long, but I have been thinking about this for a while now and really like the concept.
mine is like me: lazy, loves food, crazy hair, and loves meh dog and bunnny named chewy lol
hehe that is perfect!
Wish you all the best for your channel and I also hope many more people and opportunities will find you :) Keep up the great work!
me after watching this video: motivation up
Me 3 seconds later: motivation down.
I totally relate. Its a struggle!
It took me 83 tries to draw a model before I saw this video, ITS SO HELPFUL OMGGGG
I don't know if I watch your videos cuz I need help or just how soothing your voice it 😭😭😭
id say doing picrews is a good idea too, try different combos. And save reference images from there too.
Is it me or your cuteness of your oc and voice is super cute ^^
Thank you sooo much for helping me on making my own oc and omg a discord yes definitely yes and mood board YASSSS thanks again!!!
Thank you so much Mari Yumi, you know it's my first time watching your video and it already helps, thank you so much for your guide.
Your words are your power bobas! Use them!
*You are legit my new favourite vtuber*

Funnily enough I literally installed Pinterest earlier today. I'm using it for anatomy practice so I can draw my models. Thanks for reaffirming my decision. I'm a lazy learner and easily distracted so I needed this. Btw love your vids :D
Ok I am a Ameture drawer BUT THIS HELPED A BUNCH tysm!!!
This makes a lot of sense. I'm gonna have to commission someone to make mine. I have the artistic skills of an out-of-water trout.
I have a few ideas, TBH.
Jim Sockman - A sweaty, dirty sock puppet with googly eyes and a backward navy blue hat
Oranji Pansā - An anthropomorphic panther in a kilt
Subarashī Onaka - An anthropomorphic ankylosaurus in a business suit
Ur such a mood it’s funny and iconic.
You were the reason I love VTubers
i like the style of looking badass but i also like cutesy looks but i dont wanna look like a pastel goth so this decinitely helped me control my style lol
i always feel like i can go and accomplish whatever the subject of your videos are thank you!
I just found this on my recommended page yet it was interesting
it's easier to be honest to make your oc in gacha club/gacha life whatever you have, since it has a lot of accessories. I recommend gacha club though since it has adjustments and more accessories than gacha life. It's basically just assembling your character with the clothes and things you have
then you can screenshot the parts you want for the character sheet
then you're done
hope this helps
:DDD
what backwards kindergarten teaches art theory? mine just taught me not to eat mud or get marbles up my nose
Imagine being so lucky to be picked out from all these people to get ur vtuber drawn
Ahhh I didnt get picked out, I commissioned an artist to draw my new model
@@MariYumeCh aaaah i see thanks for telling me
Another tip if you just can’t draw the body, on ibis paint there is free to use models!
Oooo- this'll be helpful for if I ever do this in the future, thanks! I can draw, I just can't draw eyes that well, and I can barely draw from the shoulder down-
I totally feel that, just make sure you are only using this as a reference and not full on copying from other models/artists :)
