No mention of opening the hot water valves on the fixtures supplied by the heater? They're not going to drain very well if you're not allowing air to replace the water in the tanks and filling them will be an issue if the air in the tanks can't be pushed out the hot fixtures to allow the cold water to fill the tanks again.
You forgot to turn on a hot-water faucet in the house to let the air in so it would drain. Otherwise if you just open the valve, nothing will drain out of the hose due to lack of air.
What about cleaning the gas chamber filter at the bottom of the tank? I have a bradford white and had to clean it. Gets clogged with dust, dog hair and lint trips the high limit switch shutting the unit down.
I have a Bradford White 75 Gallon gas water heater and the hot water side of the connection is badly corroded and I think it's because it's plumbed with dissimilar metals, copper & steel. Anyway, so I have to replace it and I'll replace the anode rod as well. The question I have is that my connections are 1" NPT rather than the standard 3/4." I looked through Bradford's specifications and this model shows 3/4" NPT. What gives?
My plumber has told me that pressure relief valves are not made very well these days and sometimes they will not shut off all the way when you manually open them. Then you're looking at replacing the valve. So he recommends not doing it. I've done it without issue, but who knows?
Excellent video. You didn’t skip over how to open and close the tank drain valve. Thank you.
Look at all those ProPress fittings....nice.

Thanks for noting that things have to be equal for the tandem to work. We see to many out there that don’t understand that key detail

Thank you, sir!
Great video! I did it myself! Woohooo!
Mine took a lot longer to drain completely during each step. Drain wide open with 4’ garden hose to floor drain.

This model of heater is the rg250t6n right? Does it always need a chimney?
very good vid. thank you.
Thank you so much. Any idea where i can find the thermocoupler for MI40S6LN10? I can’t seem to find it online
Could this same procedure be carried out on a power direct vent model, Bradford White or is this only for an atmospheric version? thanks

My heater shuts off every within few minutes . Not sure what the deal is.
Why do I have air pressure always, always, always coming out of the hot water side of my B W Natural gas heater? Any suggestions?
Thank you for video.
BW website says to release the pressure valve before draining.
You recommend to not do that.
Who is right?
