Thank you for mentioning that throwing away stuff and not repairing them is essentially insanity because the other route is right to landfill and we can't continue down an unsustainable path. Also, repairing things will give any one a sense of achievement. This fix is easy enough that if you are successful you might move on to bigger projects. Thumbs up!!
Got mine up and running again, thanks a bunch. FYI I was able to get the ferrite bead out with an exacto knife, then threaded it back on before reattaching everything, so I’ll be able to keep that on there and can just tape or glue it into place I hate throwing stuff out just because one component isn’t working, so this was very satisfying to pull off
Controller just stopped working while I was playing a game last night. I thought it was the cord simply because of how long I've had it. Cut out the section I thought was bad, soldered the wires back in and plugged back in... still didn't work. Tried it on my laptop, it then worked.... So I restarted the first computer and surprise, it worked. SO after all that, all I ended up doing was wasting several hours plus unnecessarily shorten my cable by a few inches lol Stupid computer. Thanks for the video nonetheless!
This is not an amplifier but quite the opposite. It is a Ferrite Bead. This is meant to "clean" the signals coming through the wire of noise. Like a filter.
Do you know how to fix a controller that buttons and the left trigger constantly do whatever they do depending on what your doing without being touched if you can reply that'll be great.
Greetings ! Do you still have this issue ? I see that you posted 3 weeks ago so maaaaybe you did manage to fix it. Otherwise, what controller is it exactly? And what did you already try, if anything ?

I've been through like 3 wired controllers over the years, If I had known it was this simple I would still have 3 controllers 🤣👍

Did you cut the bead in half? How did you get the bead out with an exacto knife?

I wondered if anyone had pointed that out. :)

@@retronexusnet Yes indeed. He's doing a fine job.
Had my puppy chew through the cable of my wired 360 controller. I've used it for my PC for over 12 years. Thanks to you it's not done yet!
Thanks!
Great video. Helped me out a lot.
I have issues soldering small stuff like these :(
thank you bro for educative video

can I do this without soldering iron or is it really important?
I hope you answer me soon
You will need a soldering iron
Thanks, i had this problem and you fix it :)
@Magna Europa , any way of soldering a usb-c cable to make it work with smartphone ?
Use otg bro
You can...but as "I Noob" said...OTG adapter is a much better solution.
Nice
turn it to 1.75 for better
These controllers are so poorly designed, it genuinely pisses me off
You mean like all the xbox controllers?
Yeah not a great tutorial…wouldn’t do this
You sound like Turbish from Disenchantment lol
The wire colour code is the problem 😬
well that's damn accurate
