Beautiful job bringing something broken back to life. I love fixing up and repairing stuff that has been cast aside. Great video, but the OCD part of me would have wanted to replace that bent terminal haha
Thanks for the feedback and I am very glad you enjoyed the video. I totally get where you are coming from, my OCD wanted to change the other terminal but it was such a pain to get the rusted one out, I decided if it isn't broken then leave it alone. 😂
This was an absolutely wonderful and informative video how to fix a wireless 360 controller. I did everything you did and I was surprised that my controller also had some proper corrosion in there. Unfortunately none of the fixes worked, which is a real bummer because it felt like it should work, I was really confident :X.
Thank you for your comment. I am very glad you enjoyed the video. Sorry to hear that you were not able to fix your controller. Unfortunately, some faults are very difficult to spot but it is a really good feeling when you finally solve the issue. Keep trying and good luck 👍
@@ScottFix Unfortunately I don't know what else to try 🙈. I cleaned the insides of the pack with the two metal parts at the end, I tried to put a paper inside that little hole on the backside of it to push the connecting metal inside (was a trick from a different video), I cleaned the springs although they were already in near perfect condition, I opened the controller and cleaned all the corrosion as well as the controller parts themselves, nothing worked. I did order a charging cable so that maybe I can use the controller with the cable at least, but I am not sure whether that will actually work.
@@MrReese The problem with corrosion is that it can damage the components or traces that cannot be seen with the eye. If you have a multimeter, check the continuity around the area or use your camera at maximum zoom to get a better look. Apart from that, it is a process of elimination and how much time you are willing to invest to fix it.
@@StudsNBricks I got a new multimeter recently (needed it for trying to fix my 360 drive, which didn't work - new laser unit is on its way...), but I wouldn't really know where to measure and what else I could try.
@@MrReese I wish I could offer you some better advice but I have only ever worked on the 360 controller from this video. If you have access to a working controller you could compare the multimeter readings between them. Failing that I am sure you will be able to find more helpful videos on RUclips. Best of luck 🤞
I opened up cleaned one up inpsired by you. But it doesn't sync to the console and anther controll does though. Any recommendations? It comes on flashes and doesnt sync to the concole. Followed your video on how to open clean, etc. lol.
Omg the same problem happened to me and i suffered to fix it again i used a aluminium paper and turn it around the batery spring it did the job but i need to always redo it when changing batteries thank you for the tip ill try to fix it later have a good day
@@senseiff5401 Very good eye 🧐Now I remember, I did the testing without the rumble being fitted. Rest assured I did fully restore the controller. I actually made a clean-down video using this controller. 😀
If I come across one I will be sure to do a video for you 😉

Thanks for the guide, I'm having a hard time fixing mine. Have changed both terminals but still doesn't come up, maybe I'll need to clean it up more because it still has white points.

Loved the video, looking forward to seeing more of your journey learning how to do all sorts of repairs.
That you Patrick. I have still got lots to learn but hopefully, the journey will be entertaining. Thanks again for your support 👍

Glad to help and I hope you are able to fix your controller. You have a great day too. 😃
Hey mate, where did you get that battery connection point thung from? Thanks
Hi Kevin, I got them from eBay. Just search for 'Xbox 360 battery terminals' they are only a couple of pounds.
@@ScottFix Many thanks buddy
That's a 5 stars Video, but you forgot to put something back 😅. Well done homie👏
Thanks for the feedback bro. I don't remember forgetting anything, I would love to know what you think was missing 😃
@@ScottFix you forgot the vibration rumble motor 😅

@@ScottFix anyway thats a clean vid 👏
If you do a video of how to fix a xbox 360 controller wire (not the wired controller) i will be thankful 💚
If I come across one I will be sure to do a video for you 😉

Great job! 😊
Great video!
Thanks bro 😉
Did you get this from my freind?
I got this in a job lot from eBay, so I have no idea if this was your friend's.
Ok then probably not
