All my wires were severed. I cut the wire holder off, stored the wires, twisted them back together and put the unit back after using insulation tape . I just duct taped the wire around the bar to the unit and it's solid. Works great.
Excellent. thanks. Got this issue with two wired controllers. obviously a design fault or poor/cheap material choice... but looks relatively easy to fix. thanks again for the video :-)
Thank you a lot, I repaired my controller. In my case I didn't find any cuts or twists among the wires so I had to remove about 4 inches from the cable to make sure I got over the broken wire then connected it again, Thought someone might find a similar problem.
Familiarize yourself with your camera's minimum focus distance. Also, you want the wire to wick up the solder. You might need to add some flux into the mesh of wires you tied together to get them to suck up the solder a little better.
Yea, and if you don't have a soldering iron, it'll most likely still work if you wrap the wires together and tape them (insulate them from the other wires!).
MyCoolester: I'm no expert, but let me weigh in! Are you absolutely sure? I think a broken cable is often not clearly visible. Does it matter whether you move the controller or the cable or does it keep happening even if it's perfectly still? If it still happens then, well, I don't think anyone here knows how to fix that. If the controller is not old, you should contact Customer Support. If it is, I'd just throw it out. If you're into DIY projects, you can save both the cable and analog sticks for future projects (you have to unsolder them though). The cable often breaks and you can replace it, you analog sticks get crappy when they get really old.
you will need to strip some of the red coating of both ends of the red wire and twist them together, it should work. I hight recommend a soldering iron if it persists. Sorry to hear that.
Thanks for the video, having the same problem, might try it out. About your focus issue though. :p If you want the camera to focus, you need to move the cam away from the thing you are filming. You keep moving it closer, which means the closer it is, the harder it is to find the focus. Move it away, find the focus, then slowly move it closer until it unfocuses again. Right before that happens is sweet spot. That's the closest you can get with the cam you have. If it's a phone, you can tap the screen on the spot you want to focus on, then you tell the camera which part is the important part and it will try to focus on that. Just a friendly tip for the future :) Thanks for the video.
I'm glad I came across your video after countless hours of softwarerelated troubleshooting. Question: Was in your case the insulation also damaged? Because mine was fine and it took me some time to find the spot where the wire was disconnected
The case insulation was fine nothing damaged there, the problem was located underneath where the wire had broken off, I had to cut the insulation open to get to the wire basically.
@@Danjovisagat encountered this problem today. I was about to break my controller until i found your video. even though the whole quality may not have been the best, you still helped me out. thanks to you i took a look between the conductor part ( the round black thing) and the controller itself. indeed i encountered a broken wire. thanks dude!
The black "Xbox 360 controller for Windows" had a cable that was a piece of crap. I remember buying a white one when the console was still on sale and it works perfectly fine until today, except for one of the bumpers, that also was a hassle when it bended.

You video gave me the confidence to tear the cord apart and I found the broken black wire and fixed it!!! I used big heat shrink wrap tubing and put it over all of the wires to insulate them.
For me it fixed the problem when I looped the cable on the back of the controller and fasten it with a rubber band. Seems like the weight of the cable while moving the controller caused my disconnects.

Try folding the cable backwards until you find an angle that works, then use duct tape to affix the cable to the back of the controller. As long as you don't touch the cable anymore it should work well
i lost patience i trash mine, too bad to throw a working device i have since 2005 with day one xbox 360 ! i have already xbox one controller so right now is doing everything
Well it worked after I took an hour and change just to jerry rig the thing since the wire is so small. Since these controllers are made by possibly the worst work force in history and using the lowest quality materials the fix lasted 6 days before the POS started shorting out again then out right died. Good idea though since it was clearly a problem for me, too bad Microshit has such poor QC for such a simple item.

Try folding the cable backwards until you find an angle that works, then use duct tape to affix the cable to the back of the controller. As long as you don't touch the cable anymore it should work well
thank you >:)
yes i have the same thing happening to my controler.
i lost patience i trash mine, too bad to throw a working device i have since 2005 with day one xbox 360 ! i have already xbox one controller so right now is doing everything
That's the reason Xbox will always be behind of PlayStation
Thanks, but please practice your camera work.
What I did is roll the wire around the controller 3 times
cannot seem to find broken wire..
Most commonly it will be located underneath the adaptor as that is the part of the wire which gets the most wear and tear over time.
The problem of my controller is the other end of the wire, the one with the usb
I can't remove the screws from the back >:(
Glad to hear you got them off in the end, some are badly made.
none of my wires have a problem i dont understand
"DUCK" Tape?
Well it worked after I took an hour and change just to jerry rig the thing since the wire is so small. Since these controllers are made by possibly the worst work force in history and using the lowest quality materials the fix lasted 6 days before the POS started shorting out again then out right died. Good idea though since it was clearly a problem for me, too bad Microshit has such poor QC for such a simple item.
The inside of my remote is yellow
I have this problem with my ps3 controller
this is really useful, but holy shit i can't see shit.
