    Ready Made RC, LLC is a wonderful company. I've placed multiple orders and have no complaints at all. If they carried the same stock as HobbyKing I'd be ordering via #RMRC a ton more.... But I understand how hard a task that is to fill.

  • @hughhemington9559

    At $380, it's quite a jump from a Sky Eye at $170, and it's 2060mm as opposed to 2000mm -- not that much larger. I suppose the fuselage has more space, but you've gotta need that space to pay twice as much.

    Good review, as usual. I would like to see more of the actual recorded FPV video from this flight to get more of a feel for what you see on the LCD screen when flying with another aircraft. I'm assuming the other model is pretty darn small. I know it's not nearly as pretty. That view is all you would be seeing if the aircraft was out of visual range, and I would like to see how the dark and light transitions look from the camera as well.Any comments on how easy or difficult it is to fly strictly from the LCD? Would make a great challenge to fly FPV only with the LCD through some kind of course, then compare with goggles, and normal line of site flying to see what's best. Always within actual line of site of course to keep the FAA happy.

    That GoPro footage from the Anaconda was very shaky - did nobody balance the prop, or is that T-motor shot ?

    • @FliteTest
      @FliteTest  10 лет назад +7

      The issue was prop balance and the T-motor bearings. We talked to ReadyMade and the bearings are an isolated incident. It being a maiden we didn't know what to expect!

    Very nice vid. That take off was a little sketchy. Great explanation on stall recovery. Speed first! I was just showing that on my FPV Raptor this morning and then let my buddy fly it. He did well til it stalled ugly. By the time I took the controls, I just had to wait and let it recover itself. Even the Eagle Tree Guardian in self level mode won't help prevent the stall but it does help recover right after.

  • @Eugensdiet
    @Eugensdiet 10 лет назад

    Nice video. I agree with Josh about the nose gear being a little longer to help get the plane off the ground. The high wing loading should make it a good platform for surveying. The Mooney looks nice but again I agree with Josh that it should have landing gear.

    I'd like to see how the slats are done, any chance you could get a close up video? any chance that future speed build kits or other flite test designs might include LE slats? Is there a reason people aren't using nitro or another form of fuel for the motor for the longer range stuff?

      As long as the item is in stock they are quick. I bought my Penguin in June and didn't receive my order until September! Everything was on hold because of a back-order on the Penguin. And when I did finally get it, they only shipped the Penguin and not all of the electronics I ordered with it. I had to follow up to get them to straighten the order out and send me all my stuff after waiting over 4 months for it!

    Nice plane, maybe needs a little tweaking (connectors and tip stalling)
    What was the conclusion on the vibrations (jello on the GoPro video) ?, prop maybe or something worse ?

    • @ulaB
      @ulaB 10 лет назад

      RIDERZcouk Perhaps it's the motor bearings? Peter was talking about them making strange noises.

    • @FliteTest
      @FliteTest  10 лет назад +1

      In retrospect, the aggressiveness of the tip stall could have been CG off on the plane. The jello was an unbalanced prop and bad bearings on the T-motor. We confirmed with ReadyMade the t-motor was an isolated incident.

    I have a question, what do you need to consider before buying a new quadcopter

    • @ulaB
      @ulaB 10 лет назад

      hazcoper First thing should be: Do you want to buy or build? :) Second question is: "What do I want to do with it?" Carry a big cam requires a bigger copter, acrobatic flying is done with smaller ones. Big props make a copter slow, etc. Third question should be: What budget do I have?

    • @ze3312
      @ze3312 10 лет назад

      Balu i am looking for a beginner quad for fpv. What would be the main features that I would look to?

    • @ulaB
      @ulaB 10 лет назад

      hazcoper I wouldn't start with FPV before I knew how to fly properly. FPV equipment usually is quite expensive to replace in case of a crash.If you want to start simple, get something small like the Nano Qx. It helps a lot to learn orientation and getting the feel for it. If you know that this hobby is for you and want to got full in FPV, you might want to consider building one yourself or depending on if you want speed, general flying or long flight times a commercial multirotor for that area.Personally I really like the ImmersionRC Xugong Pro (which is just not available yet and probably will be quite expensive) that I've seen them fly in France. It has a really cool folding mechanism so you can put the copter in your backpack. Check out the FliteTest / ImmersionRC videos from about a month ago where they show that quad.

    Was mentioned a couple of times, and I agree. Making a military looking hobby aircraft isn't the best idea for improving public image. Average Joe is going to see this flying around his park/neighbourhood and flood the social media with pictures/comments about drones. Just my 2 cents. Well, 5 cents, since they got rid of pennies in Canada.

    • @STRK3R1234567
      @STRK3R1234567 9 лет назад

      YellowBlue RC I went ahead with the Skyhunter actually. At the time of this review, the Air Titan had just come out and I was unsure on how well the plane actually performed. But now that its been out for a while, I can tell you that both platforms will get similar flight characteristics.
      Besides the uncertainty of buying a 'unproven' airframe, my decision boiled down to 2 points:
      1.) The Skyhunter was made to belly land. The areas where I fly with LRS typically don't have graded runways (usually a hiking trail) so I decided a plane with landing gear would be a bad idea.
      2.) Skyhunter was around 45% less expensive and It helped me rationalize purchasing a Pepperbox antenna. (actually a very good decision right there!)
      In the end, I found another perk of the skyhunter is that its ridiculously easy to disassemble.

    • @STRK3R1234567
      @STRK3R1234567 9 лет назад

      YellowBlue RC
      where did you buy the skyhunter? >> CambriaHobby.com, but that was before ReadyMadeRC started selling it. I recommend buying from RMRC because they are the only American retailer that sells the skyhunter- saves money on shipping.
      What glue did you use to put it together? >> Actually brings up a really good point... I used hot glue for all foam to foam contacts and foam to carbon fiber contacts (because im cheap) and I used foam safe CA for all foam to plastic contacts. Reason being, is the plastic pieces are very smooth; they do not have rough area for hot glue to bind to. I recommend scratching up the plastic contact areas before you glue them. You will get a much better bind.
      Did you reinforce the plane anymore that the standard reinforcements? >> Yes. I added 2 thin carbon fiber spars to the vertical stabilizers to stiffen the entire empennage. 1 spar per vertical stabilizer. Also, make sure you install the elevator servo so that the servo arm is on the TOP of the horizontal stabilizer, not the bottom as you will commonly see it pictured at vendor sites. Look at a a skyhunter built in the real world, and youll see the servo installed on the top. Lastly, put some clear packing tape on the belly to protect the foam on belly landings (duh).
      Have fun!

    • @STRK3R1234567
      @STRK3R1234567 9 лет назад

      YellowBlue RC If you plan on carrying more than 10Ah of battery capacity, you may want rudder for your approach on landing. I havn't had this issue yet, but as a plane gets heavier, it becomes more prone to tip stalls at low speeds.
      I don't have ruder in yet only because I'm still packing light with a 8Ah (light in a relative sense haha). Bank and yank flying at low speeds has no negative tendencies at that weight.
