This is gonna sound weird, but it’s kind of refreshing to hear that you have a degree in game design. So many RUclipsrs are amateur researchers (not that there’s anything wrong with that) or just Wikipedia page readers, and it shows. It’s cool that you actually have authority in the field you discuss, proof that you’ve studied it.
I remember over a year ago I wondered where you had gone after the Persona 5 video and went to Twitch to see if you may have been there. Honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. The streams have filled me with so much laughter and inspiration for videos that I wouldn't be the person I am without the community over there. If anyone is reading this comment please go watch them. You don't even have to chat often just say things like "big balls" or "raw meat" every once in a while (trust me you'll understand those phrases if you watch the streams). Only been viewing your channel recently, but I love the energy you display in your content, and the pure passion you have for games design. I took games development as a course straight after I left school, but unfortunately dropped out halfway through the 3rd year due to being seperated from all my friends I made (classes got shifted around) & losing encouragement to keep going (was very shy & introverted at the time), but I've really been thinking about getting back into it, especially as I feel more confident in my communication skills compared to back then. I have always been a gamer, and have never really had any other passions, but becoming more aware of my own passion for gaming makes me want to pursue the field itself, especially seeing you as a prime example of someone who is clearly passionate about your work.
I remember in January of 2021 I started getting into Twitch because I needed something to listen to while building a Lego set. I've never considered myself a Sonic fan and have only played Sonic 1, but I've always had a weird fascination with hearing people talk about the games, mainly because there's rarely a consensus about whether any of them are good or bad, so it's always weirdly fresh hearing people's opinions on them despite never playing them. Guess who was being traumatized by Sonic '06 at the time? If you got nothing else out of streaming that game, you at least got yourself a lifetime fan. I have seen a few other familiar faces sharing their stories about how they found the Twitch channel and their appreciation of Andrew here, so I might as well go on as well. (no one is probably going to read this, but that is totally fine. Just wanted to share. Warning, this gets long and kind of detailed.) So, I think it was May 2020. It had been a while since Andrew posted his Persona 5 video. I knew of the existence of the Beta64 Live archive channel for a while at that point, but I didn't think he used it anymore since it had been, what, 2 years since his last upload? But sometime around May, because for some reason I still checked out the channel, I noticed new VOD uploads, and an updated channel banner with the Twitch link to boot. And this is what got me curious to check out the streams for the first time. ... I didn't say a thing. I was overwhelmed, I couldn't keep up, and while it brought a smile to my face to see him like this here... I just could not bring myself to stay on Twitch. So I stayed over on the archive channel for a while, since he continued uploading VODs. It was far less intimidating to me because it was not happening live with a whole bunch of other people, which was honestly one of the most intimidating factors. Especially since it was pandemic, my already low social interaction and capabilities were at their all time lowest. I hadn't ever felt like I belonged in any community I was in previously, but that was fine at the time. I was really introverted (and still am to be fair), and me not belonging felt like a good thing before. So just having the stream provided to me via the VODs and not having to really worry about chat felt a lot more manageable. The streams were very fun to watch, and I genuinely have nostalgic memories over some. But the more I watched, the more I started to pay attention to chat. And even though there were not very many common faces there then, I could tell there were some good people there and... I really wanted to be there with them to watch funny beet man do funny things. So starting September, I made it my goal to get back on the Twitch and eventually, when the time felt right, finally join on in the community, my biggest fear of all. And that day was his 2020 Game Awards stream (which is why I consider the Game Awards streams my "streamaversary" day

I started with Clickteam Fusion Developer, which doesn't require any programming but teaches some important coding concepts. Maybe give that game engine a try and see how it goes 👍

Then went full I wanna be funny I'm le quirky Scott the Woz too.. It didnt work out for him. People were outspoken and commented on the cringe factor on his latest videos. He makes a massive amount of money from donors and says fuck yall I'm no longer making videos. But since yall maintain my lifestyle im just gonna make a game. Sorry had to get this off my chest. I used to love this guys videos.

I have been going through my subscriptions looking at the RUclipsrs that I follow and go to the ones that haven’t uploaded in a while. Surprisingly a lot of them don’t explain their radio silence. Their twitters are either entirely inactive or don’t have posts mentioning their hiatus and if they have discord serves they don’t even have a channel mentioning if they have quit or gone on hiatus or anything. I came across your channel and saw that you had posted this video 3 months ago. I watched it back then but it made me want to write this comment about me thanking you for communicating your abscesses.
