Interviewer has absolutely no emotional skills whatsoever. She should never have been hired to interview him for this.

@@bradical8445 True, but as a professional reporter she should be able to maintain a professional posture. I hope she was reprimanded by her employer for appearing so ghoulish. Imagine how you would feel if someone was grinning as your heart broke from the loss of your cherished loved one.
Did you actually watch and listen to the interview? I watched it several times and each time I saw the compassionate and respectful journalist Eva Pilgrim give Eric an outlet for his grief and did not interrupt him. She gave him an opportunity to tell Eric and Sam's love story and to "tell the world about the Sam he knew". Do you expect her to have her head down and make the tragic circumstances be told awkwardly? You don't know Eva Pilgrim, so I would hold judgement and focus on her journalism instead of presumptions. It seemed to me that she was also trying to get Eric to recant happy moments of their wedding and relationship.

I know your beautiful bride would want you to heal from this , that time will take away some of the pain, but the memories will remain of her always... @@tony4534 Because Tony, I have been at the bedside of many people dying and under unsurmountable stress and have years of experience with people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. I have seen and been through tragedies that are inconceivable... to the human mind . So,Tony,I do understand the pain of what this man is going through...Having been a Nurse , I have a lot of patience, love and compassion for people...it is part of me,what I identify with... and sometimes Tony, when I offer comfort to someone my words may not be perfect to others, around me,(you), but at least they are offered and come from my heart. Are you here to judge me, or offer comfort?

She’s 25 years ago and said she didn’t mean to kill the bride, exactly what did she think would happen when you drink and drive. The judge need to give her the maximum penalty for her stupidity and reckless behavior.

There's no reason for drinking and driving now a days. That's something has always scared the heck out of me. Take a Uber call a friend, a family member etc. This never should have happened so sad and tragic!! My thoughts and prayers are with this groom.

My friends and I went out as younger kids, always had one person was DD. This was just at the brink of being allowed to still drink and drive, and we didn’t do it.
Call a cab, call your Dad, call a friend, UBER .. many options to never drink and drive. PLAN before you go out.
My thoughts are with this man and the families’. Such a tragic day for all of them.

This story has taken a sad turn. His wife’s mother is trying to get the marriage declared invalid due to they did not “consummate “ the marriage. There is a multi million dollar lawsuit against the bars that served the girl that hit them. MIL refers to her daughter by her maiden name only. This poor man suffers the unimaginable and now has to deal with this on top of it. Greed knows no bounds.

My husband owned a security company for bars and we would deal with this CONSTANTLY. The bouncers would have to turn visibly intoxicated people away or remove them into another area until they can get an uber or a ride. Unfortunately there was an issue once when someone came in sober and left through a back door in the kitchen (friends of the staff) they were being served drinks by two different staff since one left and the other just started they just kept serving the person. They got into their car and drove the wrong way on the high way killing 2-3 people. It was a mess! We were eliminated from court after reviewing security cams and body cams they wore. But the wait staff and owner definitely got sued- and rightfully so. Of course the drunk driver lived - not a single scratch. I'll never understand that. They are definitely in jail now

My condolences to this man and the families. Darn right, sue all those parties indicated. A strong message has to be sent for accountability. Many are focused on "gun violence" with merit but, vehicle violence" due to the choice of becoming intoxicated and getting behind a wheel has to be dealt with in every way possible. I can't imagine the stats of how many lost and still lose lives daily due to intoxicated drivers. Sickening.

I truly feel bad for the family and the great loss, and my heart goes out to them. For the driver who hit them she was drunk, I did read however in the State of S. Carolina it’s illegal to drive golf carts at night on any road. Why isn’t the news reporting this as well?
