As a American kempo karate practitioner I have a deep respect for Muay Thai but I don't like how every keyboard warrior says they practice Muay Thai and say it's the most perfect martial art but my thinking at least if it was perfect there would be no other martial arts

As a boxer, I can say that kicks are both effective and annoying to deal with. Obviously a leg is longer than an arm, and not only that but you can put more power into a kick than you can a punch. Closing the distance in order to even land a solid punch can damn near be impossible depending on who’s throwing the kicks, leading more effort to be necessary in order to get around this issue. But in terms of kicks I’m entirely afraid of, that’d be goddamn leg kicks-
Trust me I train karate and I’ve learned on how to deal w ppl closing the distance and if not for my balanced range I’d be fucked against a tall opponent

"Kicks aren't useful" that's what people say until the finally get a heel kick to the temple. I used to think fists were superior to kicks until my step brother round house kicked over my guard into my neck/collar bone, that deterred me from wanting to train for about 2 years. The amount of whiplash and utter force I got from that kick is still a little traumatizing to this day.
kicks are both overestimated and underestimated, they can easily finish a fight in one move but when you are in a real fight and you haven't have a kick SERIOUSLY ingrained into your muscle memory you might fall on your ass, depending on your reactivity to conflict and personality it could take years of training to throw them effectively and safely in a fight, you'll be tempted to hit them with everything you got, and your muscles tense if you aren't relaxed and balanced when you kick, you will overshoot or fall, and when you are on grippy or slanted pavement and you haven't trained to kick outside in your everday shoes, your odds are even lower

I mean boxing used to have kicks when it was first created, but when boxing was turned into a sport they removed kick’s because boxers wear shoes so in order to avoid injuries they stopped using kicks and kept it simple with punches dodging and footwork

I actually fought a real life hater once, he was like a keyboard warrior but real life.
He was always saying like my Karate suck and shit and it's nothing against a real fighting style t and i'm the kind of guy who never did a decent Kata in life but is absolutely ready to rumble, i'm 7-0 in amateur kickboxing.
So one day i posted some kicking and he said "anyone with 6 months of boxing would absolute destroy you" and man, he actually did boxing and for 3 years.
So i said: prove me, fight with me i even go to your gym but It has to be filmed and MMA rules.
And he did and man, this guy guy got leg kicked to death, he really had better punches than mine but what if he got kicked everytime he tried to get closed or clinched and kneed.
I asked for MMA rules because i knew what would happen, just a couple kicks are more than enought against someone who never got kicked and someone with hurt legs have trouble standing. When he got hurt i started practicing my Judo and boy, was it funny, he got trown 4 times before they stoping us, never received the video, was blocked by him in every social midia. Good times.
Cool story I recently started kickboxing aswell and im looking forward to the future if we get a fight gym in my city i would love to do a spar with my judo friends

As a person who now getting start with taekwondo while I was train muay thai, honestly the karate and taekwondo have a really beautiful kicks which are difficult to learn and you need a couple time.

As a person who is doing Muay thai and kickboxing(and I have also done Taekwondo (black belt) and judo blue belt) I can easily say that keyboard warrior are just unbelievebly strong

My Muay Thai teacher when I was a teenager used to carry a .357 in his truck, and I asked him one time, "why do you have that gun when you fight so well?" And he said "lol whats more dangerous then a martial arts teacher with a gun?"

There’s a couple common species of keyboard warriors that I’ve identified:
- the street fighter who says the martial art is useless against his knife
- the 40yr old Krav Maga guy
- the guy in every Taekwondo video spamming Bruce Lee quotes like “boards don’t fight back”
- the boxer glazing abt how tough and hard 😫💦 his coach trains him

Honestly it doesnt even matter weather martial arts work or not to fight. They still will give you all the advantages in life. They teach respect, honesty, humility, grace, agility, and make you stronger mentally and physically which will still help you out in a fight but also other parts of life.

My friend who did boxing says that you can kick in boxing. I said no you can't and he said "in UFC you can kick" I said UFC is boxing, karate Muay Thai BJJ etc. He walked away.

As a black belt in TKD, I apologize for the TKD-training keyboard warriors being doofuses, such as the one who said "it isn't called a roundhouse kick in Taekwondo". Yes, yes it is if you're using English. In Korean it's dollyo chagi, but the English name for it is a roundhouse kick. Absolute muppet.

I love using Mike Tyson’s round house technique during my pure boxing sparring. But I got kicked out for kicking, isn’t that what Tyson done? Next thing you’re gonna tell me I can’t bite ears in the clinch
You have no idea how frustrating it is being a taekwondo fighter with these keyboard warriors calling it useless. They can’t fathom the possibility that WTF is not the only form of Taekwondo that exists ☠️
I went to a WT dojang and my former master is a born and raised South Korean. However, we didn't do sport TKD, in fact, sport TKD was reserved only once per week. In fact, the 6 or 7 years I went there (got my 1st Dan was working on getting my second when I left) they went to a tournament only a few times. The focus was traditional TKD, not ITF TKD, but traditional TKD, which is TKD with all of its hand techniques, blocks etc. Hell I think Hapkido was in the curriculum but I know for a FACT BJJ and some Judo was taught at the higher belts especially black belt. I currently am a Ninjutsu white belt under To-Shin Do, one of the offshoots of Bujinkan.
@@adandyguyinspace5783 I go to a similar school, my style is a mix of ITF (and kickboxing since my teacher was taught under one of Joe Lewis’ students). There was some traditional in there too in the case of hand techniques for the sake of completing the style. We very rarely did tournaments, I only ever went to one or two, for precisely the reason that I get a little frustrated with keyboard warriors: TKD was becoming way too sports-like and obviously everyone makes fun of it for that. It’s honestly crazy to hear people say it’s useless when my training and the times I’ve used it say otherwise.

@@sarcasticsuperjerk18 Thanks man! I actually have Choi Hong Hi's encyclopedias on my Google Drive, I'm looking to build a makiwara and do iron palm training as detailed in one of his books. Of course he doesn't call them that lol but that's what the depictions show. I think the kind of training he outlines should be the standard in every TKD school that doesn't focus on the sport.
I know there is a fist fighting style too. But only fighting with legs isn't really clever, specially when you are not fast enough.
@@goodbro2046 That’s the thing though, taekwondo _has_ hand techniques traditional taekwondo even has elbows and knees (though it’s still kick-oriented). Building those techniques and building the speed you need to execute the kicks can be VERY beneficial on the street.

A perfect gun, can also be understood as a perfect weapon; nuclear energy is considered to be a step toward said perfection, so, by proxi, nuclear bombs would be said perfect weapon. 'A people' would actually be a correct use of English as people can mean nation, race, tribe etc. So, in essence the whole thing would translate to 'the perfect weapon can kill a nation' ... if only it hadn't been conjured by an internet goofball.
