"ROBBY WHAT'D YOU DO?!"
"what does it look like he did?, Kicked him over the railing, killed him" Lmao why is this so funny
😭
Its a figurative onomatopeia.
@@deathrayplayer2068 what the fuck
He showed mercy to Robby Miguel won
it sounded so casual too😭😭😭
One thing I definitely noticed about them was that a lot of the fighters sacrificed their speed and technique for more power. The haymakers and front kicks were perfect examples of this. The wild swinging really isn't even stronger than a regular straight punch. It might look stronger, but the reality is that it's simply not. I agree with what you said about the front kicks. They did look more like push kicks. One thing that I really liked was their throws and takedowns. They were clean, and fun to watch.
Yeah that’s true, the throws are quite good👍💪
@@nathearnI think those front kicks were actually push kicks lol
this guy is more cringey than cobra kai :|
@@JohnSmith-bw6pv no
@@JohnSmith-bw6pvnah
I usually prefer push kicks or front kicks in Muay Thai style, it's good to push your opponent away to create distance and kicking doors in. The last part I think is more of a low hook kick.
I think a low hook kick would probably look like the way Andy Hug threw it back then in Kyokushin tournaments. Upper Body was upright but the hook kick came in low like a typical muay thai low kick. I would say what Miguel did was a back sweep. Back Sweep is what you call it in Tricking.
Fair enough💪
ye the front kick or the side kick are the best for kicking doors, i'd say that the front kick works better but ye
Its kinda bad for balance tho since you have to drive your hips forward to get any power
Hey NAT...all the kicks, punches and blocks are very well explained. This fight scene is a package of everything 🔥🔥.
Thank you💪glad you enjoyed
@@nathearn In that first fight you were getting hyped with every punch and kick they threw 😂, man you are awesome
the punk went godmode

BREAKING DOWN COBRA KAI FIGHT SCENES 🥋🐍
As an experienced martial artist I love watching this show
I’m an 11 year old second-degree black belt and I love these videos. Keep up the amazing work and they’re doing everything but karate
2:40 mans the literal definition of “I see red”
His hair is what bro was seeing lmao (red)
Definitely react to seasons 3-5. The fight scenes just get better and better. A lot more to appreciate and/or laugh at as a Karateka lol.
I believe the swing punches you talk about at 4:00 are typically done just for it to look cooler on camera. Like you said, not very karate-like but visually looks more entertaining
They just annoy everyone, I don’t know a single person who likes those super exaggerated choreographed punches.
Those punches are so visually ugly imo
I mean that. Or the fact that you see that a lot in real life fighting among highschool kids. Where you feel that swing = power. Therefore why they do it. Not really a smart idea, since it's predictable and such. But it's teens. What do you expect?
@@Tsuki-Sii but they’re trained no?
@@ralliedcookies4403 Yes but for how long? I've known many people who have done martial arts for years and yet do these swing-punches or make rookie mistakes. Sometimes because they're too emotional and out of control. Or other reasons.
And it sorta applies here in Cobra Kai. You can basically say that whenever they're too emotional or out of control they fight stupidly and non-martial art-like.
As a brown belt in Goju-Ryu, their kata and moves shown in the show are accurate and i recognize it well and can anticipate what their next move is in most scenes. It actually impressed me alot when watching it.
It's very nice to see that many people, including me, are interested in sports, and not in drinking and smoking, greetings from Russia🤙💪
?
Oh yeah? I’m invested in sports and drinking and smoking, greetings from USA🤙🇺🇸
Bros jawline is perfect
True
2:32 Woah! You can't touch women that!
Got me cracked up
In movies and TV shows punches are thrown wide so they can be easily telegraphed by the two actors and or stunt doubles to be able to react appropriately. Furthermore it's a way ofentertaining the audience as most average day people can see the shots being thrown and delivered. Same could be said for the kicks being able to telegraph them so they're not as proper form as they should be. Kicks are flashy and most effective in catching the untrained viewers eye's. Another reason as for this is to entertain those who are watching. Naked kicks for example those would never practically work because they can easily be seen, but for those who are untrained it's a marvel to see done and actually land. It's all for the purpose of entertainment.
Yeah that’s true I hadn’t thought about that, makes a lot of sense👍
I know I’m late but I like this type of content. Some people might think you’re acting like a “know it all” but I really do appreciate this type of content.
When I'm anxious, seeing your videos makes me feel great
Lots of judo and bjj moves too and I like that the Asian kid who is mentioned does wrestling does almost only takedowns until some time passes after he joins cobra Kai
EDIT:
Hi Nat,
Been watching some of your videos. Really cool stuff and love how you train. The Miyagi-Do is based on Goju Ryu, which might do some things differently from the more commonly known Japanese styles (Shotokan, Kyokushin etc). I like how you explain the techniques from your perspective and experience. Helps a lot
Okinawan karate actually DOES have some more piercing kicks and throws/joint locks.
I think you heard him wrong bc he said there were elbows and such
@@jariel2568 yeah. I edited my comment. Sorry about that
p sure it's based on Tang Soo Do and not karate at all
@@nmitchxll305 the Cobra Kai style is based on Tang Soo Do, while the Miyagi do is based on Goju Ryu. So you are partially right
Nice, I didn’t know that👍💪
What you said about the front kicks, now unfortunately I am not a martial artist especially not a trained one, but I remember seeing a video, in which two karate martial artists met and talked about the differences in their techniques. One was training japanese karate, other the american version. I remember quite well that they pointed that out, that in american karate the front kick is supposed to somewhat "push through" the target, its point was more to not only connect but to push the opponent, put them off balance or create distance. Not sure how much truth was in what they were saying, but if that really is the case then Tory doing the frontkick that way makes in my opinion a lot of sense, because first, she's learning under Kreese and Lawrence, american style karate, second in her first apperance we get to know that she used to train kickboxing as well (not sure how are frontkicks done there but it might have something to do with the way she does them as well)
Probably the video with Sensei Seth and Jesse Enkamp.
So happy that you decided to make another one! Definitely make 3 more parts, so season 3, season 4 and season 5 best fights, in season 3 house fight, season 4 tournament, season 5 chozen vs senseis, cobra kai vs miyagi fang, silver vs daniel, silver vs chozen, johnny and barnes vs ck senseis, waterpark fight, robby vs miguel, robby and johnny vs surfer idiots and alot more in s3, s4, s5, season 5 was crazy tho there were so many fights
Definitely looking forward to reacting to those season 5 fight scenes👍
@@nathearnthe best fights of the show so far IMO would be Chozen and Daniel in season 3 (training in Okinawa, “the Birthplace of Karate” like Jesse Enkamp says lol), Robby vs Eli in the next tournament in season 4, and Miguel and Robby’s last rematch in season 5. Chozen also has this crazy fight in season 5 where he used Kobudo Sai against Terry Silver’s Katana. Really looking forward to seeing your reactions.
Hi Nat,im a 11 year old who just started learning karate,Im a white belt and im still on the basics,i havent learned kata and all those but i might participate in championship in march 20 and 21,so i watch ypur videos as tips,so keep uploading😊
They were doing everything except Karate
Edit : I'm brown belt Sotakan style Karate inter school medalist so stop teaching me crap I probably know more Karate than you
Edit 2 :- I was big fan of OG Karate Kid 1 and 3 one of my inspiration to start Karate but Cobra Kai moves are good for entertainment but do not consider as real Karate

"Its not karate, its cobra kai"
@@WinterSwiftlol Frr thi
Bro your wrong, when I did karate I learnt some of that stuff
3:34 I noticed this too. Their arms are so stretched out on some punches that it looks like they're actually trying to hit each other in the face with their arms, not their hands.
Edit: Now you need to watch Miguel Vs Robby on Season 5.
Will watch this definitely👍
@@nathearnwhen will u lol
Bro ur so right if they were legit landing those their elbow joints would be destroyed lmaoooo
and the first HALF of six they released HALF a season
Nat has to react to the corridor fight between robby and miguel at the end of season 5 too👀
Everyone moves so fast, Nat can still see clearly, awesome 👍👍
Nat : straight to the trophy cabinet 😂
( actors work hard 😵)
That knuckle weapon is scary 🤢
Hey Nat, I just wanted to say that I love all of the hard work and effort that you put in to your videos and I love all of your videos keep up all the good work!😀
Hey guys just here to say that this channel is a huge inspiration for all of us
Nat legit makes me feel like continuing to do karate and im. Happy about that
Im. Going to a tournament in a few weeks and hopefully I'll do well enough to move on
Wish me luck and have a wonderful day everyone
Hello from three months in the future! How did the tournament go?

1- Johny Laurence
2- Miguel Diaz
3-robby Keene
4-hawk Eli moskowitz
5-daniel larusso
6-samantha larusso
7-chozen togochi
8-johny kreese
9-tory Nichols
10-demitri
Btw love u from india ❤️❤️
Miguel: *kicks defenceless Hawk*
Nat: that's pretty cool
Nat you know what, they are literal enemies they were fighting in anger to hurt their enemies , not to show their karate skills . 😈😈
"oh he's dead" bro said it so casually 😂
They just do what looks best for the series which is the best explination of the "attacks"
I don’t do karate but this was entertaining and very helpful I used to think cobra Kai were really good at karate but i realised it was all dramatic effects when they hit one good shot
Nat, you REALLY should react to the original karate kid movies if you havent already, that would be legedary
I can do that👍just have to be careful about copyright that one might be tough hahah
7:59 I watched that part 20 times lol
I know this is supposed to be like a professional reaction and all, but I like the fact that they didn’t use proper karate through the whole show. It’s more realistic. Most people wouldn’t use proper karate with perfect technique and everything in a school fight lol.
I like you Nat. And I love the fact that you are reacting to CK by seasons. As a martial artist myself for many years and a fan of CK you are inspirational. Please react also to the Bar Fight same season 2 episode 6. Johnny and 3 of his friends are getting some fun worth watching.
Yes definitely and react to miguel vs robby in s5 chozen vs silver and chozen vs daniel and silver vs johnny
@@theman0110 I agree. Doing it by the seasons it's a good idea. Season 6 fights will probably be even more crazy I bet.
Thank you I appreciate that, will definitely react to these scenes💪
Most of the like not straight flinging punching is to distract and distance your opponent. The because the part for no mercy, and strike firsr, strike hard, is those straight punches. Also it's still martial arts, so even if not all of it is "karate" if it works for self defense, and can be used for practicing, and discipline, BTW like you said it's a tv show, so on camera, they're also trying to play for the audience. With that being said besides what I said earlier, With the "self defense" the art must also be safe enough to play as a sport so if it works for all of those it's martial arts. I know I am just a Minecraft RUclipsr just wanted to give you a comment, and I liked the video idea, as well as I know and are interested in lot's of things.
you're very smooth with your kick. I need that level of kick in my arsenal
Appreciate that, you’ll get there definitely
I’d love to see reactions to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Especially scenes with Jason (red ranger) and Tommy (green ranger). Seeing as both are real martial artists, particularly JDF (RIP) who played Tommy was an 8th Dan Black Belt in Karate and owned a big dojo in the USA, so I’d expect his technique would impress you. He did all of his fight scenes when not wearing the Ranger suit.
The main reason why they throw so many haymaker strikes😅 is bcoz they want to telegraph those strikes so the audience could follow. It feels so off at the same time to someone who actually do martial arts.
You explain every single thing very clearly
Great job👍
Thank you I appreciate that🤝
I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. The front kick looking things are called "front thrusting heel kick". It's a front kick with a pushing motion had to do it a lot for my black belt test so it is an actual kick
6:09 this man really called kobra Kai a children show💀💀
Nat BROOOOOOO, you're English who can't even speak English lmao 🤣🤣🤣. Reminds me how many times that happened during our sessions. I really do love your reaction videos. I don't know if you have reacted to IP Man 4 or not, but I would love to see it. Excellent work as always brother ❤️❤️🔥 🤜🏼
Thanks bro! I would react to movies like IP Man but I think copyright would get me for that😂😂
The one fact of Cobra Kai that cracks me up every time is that they trian for the fights by doing Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Jiujutsu and even MMA, but very little ACTUAL karate
Damn please continue this its very interesting how you think about karate movies/shows
Amazing videos Nat. Me and my grandma like watching your videos.
Appreciate that mate💪
I always thought karate in the valley must be really bad if someone can be a black belt and win a tournament in just a couple months 😂
PS: Love your videos, watching from Argentina 🇦🇷
I feel like in all the scenes that arent formal karate matches, its more so just kids who know karate fighting each other rather than kids fighting each other with karate. They know how to fight from a strategic point of view, but their moves are kinda just full force throwing themselves at each other rather than the more organized and technical moves you’d see in an actual martial arts match. Im a taekwondo black belt and tkd focuses on kicks WAY more than karate does. And even in taekwondo, those “push” front kicks are more or less nonexistent. If you want to push someone its usually a side kick with the core driven into it.
Front push kick very effective
6:02 exactly, and yet there are people who watched this who don't believe that and think it would have not been so bad!
Wish that this guy was my sensei
I’ve been doing Muay Thai for 2ish years and some friends wanted to watch cobra Kai, I bet other fighters can relate when I say it’s kinda tough to watch bc it’s just not that realistic and over dramatic, maybe I’m just weird lol
Nah you’re not weird at all, I’ve been doing Muay Thai for 3 years and I cringe sometimes while watching Cobra Kai lol. I suppose Karate and Muay Thai are different forms of Martial Arts, but still.
Im doing muay thai for 3 month and i already have some fight ( i went throught a full camp as a beginner and it really sucks ) when we are talking about fight scene i get it it overly dramatized but this ? Is this karate i dont think so i mean my brother watch anime so i understand the dramatication of the fight but this (again)? Yeah i just cringe very badly
I’ma kick your ass nigga
Ya well when you do Muay Thai, a show that displays a mixture of martial arts will look weird. I do taekwondo, karate, jiu jitsu, and boxing and it’s fairly realistic (par the terrible haymaker punches)
I did taekwondo for around 5 years and got my black belt while watching this show, and taekwondo has some similarities with karate and the fight scenes were cool, but not accurate one bit.
i didnt watch a video but as a karateka who entered dan 1 last month i only can say the only things cobra kai got right are ura mawashi geri(hook kick) mawashi geri(round house) and giyaku-kizami tsukis(punches)
This was very entertaining and educational. Please make more.
This is exactly why Sensei Kreese always rightly so taught "Strike 1st! Strike hard! No mercy!"!
Hey nat I'm a white belt just yesterday the shihans came to our dojo for grading but I'm proud to say I'm white belt in taekwondo
how did i only see this video 15 minutes ago, ill watch all the videos of these.
Usually cobra kai series all characters actually has a split in 3 different dojos, and they learn each others karate technique from each other, but everyone knows each other's weak points eventually because they all started growing nothing at all to grow stronger and more skillful than ever :DD
React to MY HERO ACADEMIA moves (kicks,punches,jumps,combos...) please
It would be perfect to see you trying these moves!👌
👍👍
I really enjoy these. Please keep making them!
Another movie added to my watch list 😅🥳⭐🔥
Cobra Kai isn’t trying to replicate karate, it’s a mixture. So that’s why they use push kicks, plus they create space
One important thing in the show, cobra kai dojo in reality teach tangsoo-do but they call it karate to sell it
I didn’t know that🫡
Your the best I want to learn karate like you😊😊😊
the biggest shock to me is how wild they can throw those strikes and not slip on those slippery ass school tiles. Everyone knows how slippery those are and now imagine doing all the stuff we seen in cobra kai but with casual shoes and stuff on.
Well the comments are filled with favorite techniques so I guess I'll way in. I like to use front kicks to get my opponent to think low and put their hands down. Then I move in fake the front kick and switch into a question mark kick to the head. It's bullying against people that aren't used to it.
7:38 nice Capoeira Kick
i saw all of the seasons of cobra kai such a good serie
The choreography with the karate gets much better seasons 4 and 5
Looking forward to it💪
The most likely reason for the wide punches is one, they look flashier, so they look strong, but also, they’re much easier for the stunt doubles to block cuz they’re much slower than a proper straight jab or cross, greatly reducing the risk of accidents in choreography 🤣
The only dojo that feels right is cobra kai exept for the No mercy Stuff
Bro his Australian accent makes the commentary so much better!!
at 2:07 it looked like a push kick with a teap combined
Putting his hands on their faces and shoving them away, a clothesline and a shoulder block to the knee before flipping them over. I'm not sure about the first move on what it was, but the second move and third move were both from a wrestler's playbook, especially a professional wrestler.
Resume of this whole video: It's not karate, it’s Cobra kai!
You should do more I love it when you break down the fight seens
Will do 100%
I think johnny lawrence's actor actually does some form of martial arts irl, he seems alot more proficient in his fights too
push kicks are really good for creating distance
Hey nat you should break down the Batman fight scenes. I know they are not karate but it would be nice
There are some move that are cool, easy and effective like a straight punch but it not look great in camera. That why they prefer to use swing punch.
Not only punch, and not only in karate.
I might be late but every cobra kai seasons is 3 months
In kenpo I find us using push kicks. Might be less too the books tho.
Do react to any Chinese martial arts action movie, that would be more fun😄
Will do👍
This is just GOATED
I promise bro the swipe kick by Demetri to Hawk into the cabinet was really smooth but icl Miguel is still the best Fight in the series
thanks mate, this was a wonderful breakdown and showed me a lot of things i didnt know before.
No problem, thanks for the support💪
@@nathearn my pleasure!
"Spinning side kick..." 😂
A lot of the fights in Cobra Kai aren't really karate because the style the characters that were trained by their Sensei Johnny wasn't really karate it was a mixture of multiple martial arts that Johnny's Sensei krease was taught in the military. Karate in this show is really just used as a blanket term for martial arts.
7:35 loving the commentary! Lol
Thank you🤣
Keep going you are one of the best!
Really appreciate that💪💪
To be fair. In a school fight, I don’t think only karate would be the solution. Prob a mix of everything because… well it’s a school fight
I like your videoes and I wanted to say I love Cobra Kai you should keep doing it ❤
Fun fact a lot of the stunt actors are mma fighters. Two of my coaches at SBG Alabama are stunt actors for Hawk and Kenny
Idk why ppl getting mad for pausing a vid . He’s reacting to the vid and breaking it down what do you expect?
This guy is a chad
Honestly what I saw in Karate Kid reminds me of Tang Soo Do and feels like Cobra Kai is training something from Korea tbh
7:57 hes not dead, he just gets put into a coma (plot armour vibes right there)
I know the actual Kobra Kai in the series is based in Tang Su Do, which was later perfected as Taekwondo
That front kick to the tree was nothing but laughable.
True lol😂
