Each coil has a bolt just holding in place to the engine and they are not part of electrical circuit. The plugs that clip into the top of each coil are the main part of the electrical circuit.
@@PhatPharmacist Thanks. If I tightened them anymore than this I'll probably break something. Anyway, I have had to replace most of the harness connectors since they no longer snapped onto the coil plug.
Should be able to take out by hand. Possible that the old boots have dried and sticking to the heads down in there. Adding dielectric grease when installing new ones can help prevent them from sticking.
@@cadengiles2027 ahh, I see. I had one do that before, the coil inside just ended up snapping off as I pulled it out. Was annoying to get it out as it blocked my spark plug socket from getting good seat on the plug.
thank you so much my 2000 has been acting up has a dash light and idles very rough and feels weird when im driving
Also, a good time to replace the spark plugs if needed.
Thank you.

Did your CEL go away? My 03 GT is throwing P0306
Currently no Check engine light
@@PhatPharmacist Sounds good, I’m about to tackle this soon 👍🏻
Is the electric grease necessary?
It’s recommended to ensure longevity of your connection points and create proper seal. Extra layer of insulation and prevents arcing too. 👍
Is there a correct way to take them out mine are breaking off inside and I have to fish them out

@@PhatPharmacist they was stuck to the spark plugs just took a few hours and a few tools thrown and they’re all out
