Nickelodeon is BREAKING SpongeBob's Krabby Patty Rule

- Nickelodeon is celebrating the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants! However, one of their upcoming events is bringing the Krusty Krab's legendary Krabby Patty to life. Since SpongeBob premiered in 1999, Stephen Hillenburg didn't want to promote fast food to his show's audience. Is it bad to see Nickelodeon breaking this rule?

I really hate how dependent Nickelodeon is on SpongeBob. Mickey is the mascot of Disney but the company doesn't constantly overshadow new characters just to give most of the attention to him.

@@quinnhouk5369 Of course it's Nickelodeon. They have gone full Mr. Krabs.
The only reason I'm semi-okay with this is because there's not just one version that's a definitive Krabby Patty, so I see it as less Nick out-and-out disrespecting the legacy and more just trying a whole bunch of different interpretations. Idea: giving copyright law a Creator's Legacy Clause
Basically if a show has achieved the status of a cultural phenomenon (i.e. like SpongeBob) and the original creator dies, then the show must be managed in accordance with the original creator's wishes for the remainder of that show's copyright.
Nah, what we need is to just reduce the length of copyright in the first place.

1: this is a collaboration with actual chefs, not fast food joints. Mr Hillenburg's issue was with fast food.
2: it's only a guess on what they actually are, not any kind of real formula(the one I personally subscribe to is the food theory formula that uses red algae)
3: it's limited time for SpongeBob's anniversary, 25 is a big deal, so something like this is ok for as big of a milestone as 25.

Nickelodeon: “hold my slime”
Nick did something similar with the good burger 2 good burger meal at arby's. it tasted good, but at twice my daily calorie intake i don't really think that was okay to advertise to kids.
