I'm from ajax Ontario Canada I'm near the eastern portion of said country on the southern south east area of Ontario between pickering and whitby Ontario ( 30min drive to Toronto) and cannot understand the difference between new york state and new york city but I understand geographically where I am
You should definitely look into the mixed-use buildings on the workshop. They allow you to put shops on the ground floors and residential above to reduce how far people have to walk.
It weird that you even have to mod this in, it should exist as a zoning type by default. Mixed use zoning is common in pretty much every city, how'd the developers overlook that?
@@toshineon Aren't the devs American? May be why. I heard mixed zoning is now illegal to put on new properties in a lot of US counties. It's a lot more common elsewhere in the world though
Hey Kibz, people can use their bike on the pedestrian roads you do not need extra bicycle paths. Also every square of the pedestrian zone does cost money you can see that in the pedestrian zone info. If you enable the policy „Deliver Everything“ the whole district only needs the service points to get goods and trash taken care of that way you truly can make a ped only city with no traffic at all. I really look forward with what you come up with 👍

8:00 Kibs, by painting the pedestrian area over everything you disabled all vehicles from moving things around in the area you already had. No trucks moving industry to make money, shops not getting supply to sell to your people, et cetera. You went so far in the red because all of your businesses weren't doing business, and none of your residents had anything to spend their money that you could tax.

Yay! A new CS series! You could call it Old Venturium in that it's more walkable and accessible like some older cities, and so it calls back to the prior series.
I started a city today to be a bit walkable, but more so in Downtown. I made that whole district a pedestrian area. Then I set the building style to European and made everything high density. Then I cut large city blocks, zoned in the block with residential in a semicircle, then put a walk road in a semi circle on the inside of the city block, then zoned the rest of the block with commercial. I also made extra wide city blocks so that a walking road could go between the buildings straight down the middle of the block. Finally, I took the central avenue in my city, then split it into two, one way roads to make a large space between the two directions of traffic, and used the space between to build a custom Central Park with the government offices building right at the end of the park. I have plans to upgrade my avenue plus the split area with tram tracks and get a tram line through there.

Since you're going for an OCD Utopia, this would imply both perfect logistics and high income. I recommend Upper Kibzville. See, uptown areas are always pricier, and nobody I watch is more obsessed with logistics and manufacturing beauty than The One and Only Kibitz! I think it fits perfectly.
I believe it's Network Anarchy doing the tree stuff. Or Tree Anarchy. Since the issue is with road networks and trees and those two are the ones intended to cause clipping.
Just a recommendation for the city name - whatever you name it, you should include New before it since you are using the New York map and you are referencing the old city, which will be destroyed. You can switch the white overlay on/of when placing schools, service buildings etc, so you can see how things actually looks before placing them down. and you can just toggle the white status overlay back on to get the default view. You have to remember if you cover every inch of the map witch pedestrian area, no cars will be able to travel meaning the streets are going to be empty. So not a single penny for the city!

Check under Parks, the third icon. There are a bunch of cool parks which have multiple themes that you can change, also parking lots.
You need a pond with walkways around it in the green space by the school.
It's the green A at the bottom. I have the same issue and always forget to toggle it off when building
