As someone who played during Chapter 1 I feel like it’s extremely greedy and selfish to not allow other players the opportunity to unlock and have access to old battlepass skins. I know it will be very controversial but if it happens I know for a fact it will lower down the amount of accounts being stolen and sold every day

Its impossible for them to avoid permanent og if they want creative to thrive. Either they limit creative, taking away from their goal of the metaverse, or further expand and update creative allowing for other creators to make of anyway. This is just them keeping ownership of chapter 1 while expanding creative.
The fact EPIC is continuing to Ch6 and bringing CH1 back as an option for OG players is great news and something most games never offer. So I dont understand why kids are afraid of OG coming back. Plus lets be real, Fortnite has been slipping player count wise and CH1 is EPICs failsafe plan so from a business sense, it was needed
I have every single one Chapter 1 Battle Pass item, but I don't understand why everyone thinks it would be bad, if Epic re-released the Battle Passes. I don't get why exclusivity is good. Why should in-game pixels be gatekept from kids, who would love to have them?
With the battle passes i think you should be able to complete them if you owned when we go back and if you didn't own them, then there is another pass for the new people that never had it had it and completed it then and now
My question is why would Epic release the OG mode a mere 5 days after chapter 6 releases? To give us more content? To prevent the player count from dying because Chapter 6 is possibly a huge letdown? I don’t really know.
@@OtakMilans chapter 5 had plenty of story, with this season they just want people to enjoy the game for the month we have chapter 2. It’s the same with Season OG, not much story besides a few audio logs, and then the story kicked off again with chapter 5. Chapter 6 will have story.
@@OtakMilansactually the timeline split off into different endings(HD islands) Hermes is the next island and after Helios's awful conversion, we are likely keeping bullet drop mod bench's. Plus newer features ...a lot of us will quit. Hence OG coming in a week. Don't like the new stuff? We have all old school styles in reload with brand new oldstyle maps and chapter 1 looping forever over here if you do not want to play the new battle royale, all XP ranks up the battle pass so you just have to retain the player count
I love Fortnite and this was a super smart decision. "Let's fully expand upon Battle Royale since metaverse failed" Fortnites storyline is still wild, especially if we really are gonna follow Hope for this journey into ancient Japanese mythology. I agreed with your point up until the battle pass argument, FOMO and digital scarcity doesn't work anymore and the player base recently consists of about 70% new players so it doesn't make any type of sense to gatekeep pixels lol, just let it go if they decide to bring them back, its their IP and they can do whatever they want with it (unless of course the skin belongs to a guest IP)

chapter 5 split the playerbase across 12 core game modes by the end of the chapter (BR, ZB, BR Reload, ZB Reload, Ranked BR, Ranked ZB, Ranked BR Reload, Ranked ZB Reload, Festival Main/Jam/Battle stage, LEGO, RR, Ranked RR) and yet the most played modes are still BR and ZB, and BR is above by a huge margin (at this time, its 750.5K players in BR vs, the next highest, ZB at 398.7K players). People will play what they want to play, and the majority of players want to play BR. Giving people options isn't a bad thing, and there are plenty people who want to play the OG seasons again. adding these extra modes is a good thing for the health of the game. a good example of people NOT wanting to play a game is festival jam stage. it has the lowest player count out of any of the base modes (right now it has 424 people playing). if people dont want to play something, they wont. its that simple.
Im not playing chaoter 1 for nostalgia, im playing it because that was and always be my favirote chapter. Ill always play OG as long as they have it around. This is the opportunity to play a different BR if you dont like chapter 6 without having to play ranked or competitive. Its diversity just like creative, lego, rocket racing, and music festival. Its not gonna destroy fortnite, fortnite will be around for a long time, stop worrying all the damn time and enjoy the time we do have to play fortnite
Yeah dude, when they brought back chapter 1 for the first time it was genuinely the most fun I’ve had with Fortnite in years, and it’s not just because of nostalgia. I genuinely believe that the old map was just better than anything we’ve gotten since.
Yeah the whole permanent thing is the only thing worrying me, I’m fine with them bringing it back for 10 months but idk, perhaps if they don’t include everything og like the movement and how we had friendly fire at first we could possibly still feel that nostalgia when looking back at old videos even if the og map remains permanent in game.
You can play the regular Chapter 6 or whatever we’re in if you like it better, there will be options for both, 99% that are OGs will probably play the old seasons while kids/newer players will probably prefer the regular…
@2:30 they could also be giving us og for 10 months to rebalance the main Fortnite game mode and since we’re familiar with it and all love it it’s a good choice. Because 10 months is a long time and are probably doing something new, maybe a mix of both for chapter 6
Nice video! Honestly, I don’t care much about the direction Fortnite takes. Maybe it’s just me, but as a casual player, I’ve been enjoying the game so far and don’t mind the constant collaborations. That said, I’m open to hearing other perspectives. I never got to play during Fortnite’s ‘prime’ days since I only started in late Chapter 2, so I can see why others might have different views.
I actually think most of us dont mind chapter 1 overtaking battle royale ch6 tbh. chapter 1 was fortnite. Its the chapter that made fortnite a thing in the first place, its the game identity, it is the true "Fortnite", i dont see why chapter 6 and chapter 1 cant co-exist. There will always be players who preffer newer content, rather than the same loot they used 6 years ago, but again thats just my opinion.

the "new chapters arent fortnite" mentality is really fucking over these newer chapters. chapter 5 was fun as fuck, especially season 3, but people who cant understand that the game which evolves every few months will change (ie, people like you who say that old fortnite "was fortnite") force epic to do things like bring back old chapters for a month, or in a separate mode (despite those older chapters being less fun).

The map sucks, the game looks like shit, and everything they’ve added in each season has been either completely overpowered to the point of being unfun or just boring. 100% agree, it won't feel the same. But if they bring all the old battle passes back then it will be a slap in the face to people who put time and effort into them before. I don't have all of the rewards or passes from back then either and I'm perfectly fine with that. But also, its gonna get boring real quick, last time OG came out, I got bored of it about 4 weeks in, so 10 months will be interesting to say the least.

Thankfully epic wont re release the old battle passes, its stated on the fortnite website about exclusivity, you may of heard about the future battlepasses returning after 18 months in the shop, however that doesnt effect battlepasses beforehand
yeah, but its clear that epic want to get rid of exclusivity. that doesnt mean that the original passes are coming back in the same way (I.e. the skins within the pass wont be sold in the shop after 18 months), but it doesnt necessarily mean that they arent coming back at all if they do bring them back, its a good thing. digitial scarcity is a terrible thing, and only makes it so people will buy accounts with these older skins in for stupid amounts of money. id rather miss a battle pass, and pay a bit more later on, than either go without a skin i want, or pay a stupid amount of money for an account with the skin.

I agree. I've brought and fully completed every battle pass and have been playing since the beginning. I brought the founders' pack and everything, so if Epic did bring back old cosmetics, I would 100% stop buying the cosmetics as its scummy

we know nothing about chapter 6. it could be the best chapter to date for all we know. people have been wanting old chapters to come back for forever now, even after the first og season. people were worried when chapter 5 came out that splitting the game into 4 core modes would be bad, and then chapter 5 came out, and the majority of people still played br. creative mode adds literally thousands of other gamemodes for people to play, and yet the battle royale modes are still the most played. almost as if giving people choice to play what they want will still have most players play what they got the game for: battle royale. what this will do is split the base into two factions: those who hate the new chapters, and those who dont. the people who hate the new chapters can go jerk off in the og mode, while the rest of us will play the new chapters. you're right about the appeal of the og seasons being nostalgia, but that doesnt mean that those chapters were inherently better. what this will probably do is benefit the health of the new chapters, as it wont have people whining about how "it isnt fortnite", as they can just go play the mode that "is fortnite".
That's what I'm saying, this is a win-win for everyone, I personally will be playing Ch6 more because I really like the new and crazy things epic adds, but some people just like the classic "Simplicity" of CH1. But hopefully we stop seeing this type of videos of why ch1 is better and stuff

We dont know exactly what will happen after season X, but this is supposed to be a "permanent og mode" as the leakers and epic themselves said. Theyre gonna cycle back to c1s1 after some unspecified "end of og" season. Be that season X, c2s2 or some other competely arbitrary time. 2. Fortnite og isnt "special because we dont have it permanently". We all loved fortnite chapter 1 when we had it for two entire years, at least until season 9. Claiming that "og is only good because we dont have it" or "og is only good because of nostaliga" is forgetting the fact that the time we're talking about is a time when neither of those things were true. Chapter 5 was just worse than chapter 1, simple as 3. We dont know how good chapter 6 will be. This mode isnt necessarily a "epic are lazy so instead of fixing their game they just give us old content" mode. Maybe epic learnt from their mistakes and chapter 6 will be amazing. You clearly have a outwardly negative view of the new chapter before we've even seen the first trailer. Of course youre not gonna like it

Honestly loved chapter 5 I had quit after chapter 2 had ended and came back when og was announced OG got me hooked again and kept me around all chapter long also me not being washed after all that time not to mention they had 0 misses on the battle pass all my opinion tho

I'm okay with it being around forever, og proved it wasn't nostalgia that made ch1 good, it was just a great map and loot pool. However I'm confused where everyone is getting the idea that old BPs are returning they confirmed that only BPs released after August 7th will return.
as someone who played since chapter 1, and played the og season, it was only good for a bit then it got very annoying (much like the current remix chapter). chapter 1 was good for its time, but the game has evolved far beyond it. im glad theyre adding it as an option for people to play, but chapter 5 >>>
I’m og and I don’t mind them bringing back battle passes, if they don’t do that they could also allow those that purchased older battle passes and couldn’t finish them complete them; or allow those that played a season but didn’t buy the battle pass finally be able to purchase it.
While I agree with you that this is a very weak move from epic (especially if they bring back battle passes), I just don’t see how the nostalgia of playing Fortnite in 2017 would fade away. The memories won’t be erased, they’ll still be there. And also, I think most people (including me) won’t play chapter 1 because of nostalgia, they will play because it is by far the best version of Fortnite we’ve ever had (my opinion of course). I don’t think this is going to be bad at all. Think of it like an old game in a series or a classic version of a game like how RuneScape has it, and our memories from 2018/2019 playing Chapter 1 will always be there. Plus it’ll allow new people to make memories with the chapter we love as well, that’s the beauty of it. It being limited time is not why it’s special, it’s special because of the memories, the artstyle, it was the start of Fortnite. It’s what people think of when people hear the word Fortnite. And as for battle passes, I have every battle pass since Season 5 of Chapter 1 and I wouldn’t mind if people could get them. Yes exclusivity is really cool and I love having them but I wouldn’t mind some OG edit styles ngl. (And also idc if it was Season 2 I want sparkle specialist). I just don’t like being a gatekeeping asshat over cosmetics ngl
epic is literally pulling a "wow classic". my guess is that something similar will happen with OG too, there will be a sub-set of players who only play it, and then everyone else will play the new content.
I stand completely with chapter 1 returning (I just hope they bring back to old game completely, in textures, sfx, weapons and mechanics), but I stand completely against the og battle passes returning. That exclusivity is what makes those skins so special and I think bringing them back would take away from the specialness of the accounts who actually own those skins.

I agree, Fortnite OG was special because it was something they had never done before. But now it’s just something Epic Games can use after being shamed online for lacklustre chapters and gameplay? Why? Just so they can keep holding onto the popularity? To make more money? If money is the case, expect the old battle passes back. I will admit, I’ve been wanting the old battle passes for a while now, but not if it means devaluing them to the people who actually have them. I don’t like the mashup skins, but that doesn’t mean the only other option is to resurrect the old battle passes, (once described as limited time) give the previous owners exclusive styles (which Epic Games will certainly not do), and just because they’ve began losing money and a fan base who supports them ever since Donald Mustard left.

Concept:: maybe they could let people who already owned the battle passes back then finish them? It'd let people gain edit styles or complete sets, but no new accounts could get the old cosmetics. Maybe even limit it so that you can only get items from a set you've already started getting back then. ( This isn't the greatest idea, but I'm working around the non-existent problem of letting someone buy something digital that can be infinitely replicated )
or they could just return the battle passes to the game because its their content and they should be allowed to do whatever they want with it (aside from revoking it from players who already bought it ofc, but thats a separate issue)

reload is not dead what? ranked reload currently has 212k players, and the lowest playercount for reload (unranked zb) has 33.2k. that is NOT a dead game mode. a dead game mode is festival battle/jam stage. they have a combined total of 1.1k players

Its impossible for them to avoid permanent og if they want creative to thrive. Either they limit creative, taking away from their goal of the metaverse, or further expand and update creative allowing for other creators to make of anyway. This is just them keeping ownership of chapter 1 while expanding creative.
The fact EPIC is continuing to Ch6 and bringing CH1 back as an option for OG players is great news and something most games never offer. So I dont understand why kids are afraid of OG coming back. Plus lets be real, Fortnite has been slipping player count wise and CH1 is EPICs failsafe plan so from a business sense, it was needed

My question is why would Epic release the OG mode a mere 5 days after chapter 6 releases? To give us more content? To prevent the player count from dying because Chapter 6 is possibly a huge letdown? I don’t really know.

@@OtakMilans chapter 5 had plenty of story, with this season they just want people to enjoy the game for the month we have chapter 2. It’s the same with Season OG, not much story besides a few audio logs, and then the story kicked off again with chapter 5. Chapter 6 will have story.

Plus newer features ...a lot of us will quit. Hence OG coming in a week. Don't like the new stuff? We have all old school styles in reload with brand new oldstyle maps and chapter 1 looping forever over here if you do not want to play the new battle royale, all XP ranks up the battle pass so you just have to retain the player count
I love Fortnite and this was a super smart decision. "Let's fully expand upon Battle Royale since metaverse failed" Fortnites storyline is still wild, especially if we really are gonna follow Hope for this journey into ancient Japanese mythology. I agreed with your point up until the battle pass argument, FOMO and digital scarcity doesn't work anymore and the player base recently consists of about 70% new players so it doesn't make any type of sense to gatekeep pixels lol, just let it go if they decide to bring them back, its their IP and they can do whatever they want with it (unless of course the skin belongs to a guest IP)

Why am I getting so many of these RUclips vids on my recommendation list? I’m sick of seeing people saying this will ruin fort. Idc if it separates the player base. It will separate the mature and real players from the toxic children that ruined this game lol. This is a good thing in the long run.
chapter 5 split the playerbase across 12 core game modes by the end of the chapter (BR, ZB, BR Reload, ZB Reload, Ranked BR, Ranked ZB, Ranked BR Reload, Ranked ZB Reload, Festival Main/Jam/Battle stage, LEGO, RR, Ranked RR) and yet the most played modes are still BR and ZB, and BR is above by a huge margin (at this time, its 750.5K players in BR vs, the next highest, ZB at 398.7K players). People will play what they want to play, and the majority of players want to play BR. Giving people options isn't a bad thing, and there are plenty people who want to play the OG seasons again. adding these extra modes is a good thing for the health of the game.
a good example of people NOT wanting to play a game is festival jam stage. it has the lowest player count out of any of the base modes (right now it has 424 people playing). if people dont want to play something, they wont. its that simple.
Im not playing chaoter 1 for nostalgia, im playing it because that was and always be my favirote chapter. Ill always play OG as long as they have it around. This is the opportunity to play a different BR if you dont like chapter 6 without having to play ranked or competitive. Its diversity just like creative, lego, rocket racing, and music festival. Its not gonna destroy fortnite, fortnite will be around for a long time, stop worrying all the damn time and enjoy the time we do have to play fortnite
Yeah dude, when they brought back chapter 1 for the first time it was genuinely the most fun I’ve had with Fortnite in years, and it’s not just because of nostalgia. I genuinely believe that the old map was just better than anything we’ve gotten since.

Nice video! Honestly, I don’t care much about the direction Fortnite takes. Maybe it’s just me, but as a casual player, I’ve been enjoying the game so far and don’t mind the constant collaborations. That said, I’m open to hearing other perspectives. I never got to play during Fortnite’s ‘prime’ days since I only started in late Chapter 2, so I can see why others might have different views.

I actually think most of us dont mind chapter 1 overtaking battle royale ch6 tbh. chapter 1 was fortnite. Its the chapter that made fortnite a thing in the first place, its the game identity, it is the true "Fortnite", i dont see why chapter 6 and chapter 1 cant co-exist. There will always be players who preffer newer content, rather than the same loot they used 6 years ago, but again thats just my opinion.

@@aetheriox463, I’m sorry but the older chapters were absolutely not less fun. Chapter 5 is probably the worst chapter to date, and that’s saying a lot. The map sucks, the game looks like shit, and everything they’ve added in each season has been either completely overpowered to the point of being unfun or just boring. There’s a reason why season OG saw the most concurrent players that Fortnite has ever had, it’s simply more fun.
I feel like it most likely will not hurt Fortnite because a lot of people will possibly come back to fortnite because of OG, and if you don't enjoy OG, you can play festival, racing, lego, and whatever chapter 6 will be at this point. It's sad that a lot of the time they are using their original gameplay to just get players back, I undertstand how you feel though. My personal opinion is just that I would probably be fine with this, it does worry me what will happen to battle royale now.
100% agree, it won't feel the same. But if they bring all the old battle passes back then it will be a slap in the face to people who put time and effort into them before. I don't have all of the rewards or passes from back then either and I'm perfectly fine with that. But also, its gonna get boring real quick, last time OG came out, I got bored of it about 4 weeks in, so 10 months will be interesting to say the least.

Thankfully epic wont re release the old battle passes, its stated on the fortnite website about exclusivity, you may of heard about the future battlepasses returning after 18 months in the shop, however that doesnt effect battlepasses beforehand
yeah, but its clear that epic want to get rid of exclusivity. that doesnt mean that the original passes are coming back in the same way (I.e. the skins within the pass wont be sold in the shop after 18 months), but it doesnt necessarily mean that they arent coming back at all
if they do bring them back, its a good thing. digitial scarcity is a terrible thing, and only makes it so people will buy accounts with these older skins in for stupid amounts of money. id rather miss a battle pass, and pay a bit more later on, than either go without a skin i want, or pay a stupid amount of money for an account with the skin.

people have been wanting old chapters to come back for forever now, even after the first og season.
people were worried when chapter 5 came out that splitting the game into 4 core modes would be bad, and then chapter 5 came out, and the majority of people still played br. creative mode adds literally thousands of other gamemodes for people to play, and yet the battle royale modes are still the most played. almost as if giving people choice to play what they want will still have most players play what they got the game for: battle royale.
what this will do is split the base into two factions: those who hate the new chapters, and those who dont. the people who hate the new chapters can go jerk off in the og mode, while the rest of us will play the new chapters. you're right about the appeal of the og seasons being nostalgia, but that doesnt mean that those chapters were inherently better. what this will probably do is benefit the health of the new chapters, as it wont have people whining about how "it isnt fortnite", as they can just go play the mode that "is fortnite".
That's what I'm saying, this is a win-win for everyone, I personally will be playing Ch6 more because I really like the new and crazy things epic adds, but some people just like the classic "Simplicity" of CH1. But hopefully we stop seeing this type of videos of why ch1 is better and stuff

1. This mode isnt "semipermanent", its just permanent. We dont know exactly what will happen after season X, but this is supposed to be a "permanent og mode" as the leakers and epic themselves said. Theyre gonna cycle back to c1s1 after some unspecified "end of og" season. Be that season X, c2s2 or some other competely arbitrary time.
2. Fortnite og isnt "special because we dont have it permanently". We all loved fortnite chapter 1 when we had it for two entire years, at least until season 9. Claiming that "og is only good because we dont have it" or "og is only good because of nostaliga" is forgetting the fact that the time we're talking about is a time when neither of those things were true. Chapter 5 was just worse than chapter 1, simple as
3. We dont know how good chapter 6 will be. This mode isnt necessarily a "epic are lazy so instead of fixing their game they just give us old content" mode. While I agree with you that this is a very weak move from epic (especially if they bring back battle passes), I just don’t see how the nostalgia of playing Fortnite in 2017 would fade away. The memories won’t be erased, they’ll still be there.

I don’t think this is going to be bad at all. Think of it like an old game in a series or a classic version of a game like how RuneScape has it, and our memories from 2018/2019 playing Chapter 1 will always be there. Plus it’ll allow new people to make memories with the chapter we love as well, that’s the beauty of it. It being limited time is not why it’s special, it’s special because of the memories, the artstyle, it was the start of Fortnite. It’s what people think of when people hear the word Fortnite.
And as for battle passes, I have every battle pass since Season 5 of Chapter 1 and I wouldn’t mind if people could get them. Yes exclusivity is really cool and I love having them but I wouldn’t mind some OG edit styles ngl. (And also idc if it was Season 2 I want sparkle specialist). I just don’t like being a gatekeeping asshat over cosmetics ngl

I stand completely with chapter 1 returning (I just hope they bring back to old game completely, in textures, sfx, weapons and mechanics), but I stand completely against the og battle passes returning. That exclusivity is what makes those skins so special and I think bringing them back would take away from the specialness of the accounts who actually own those skins.

I will admit, I’ve been wanting the old battle passes for a while now, but not if it means devaluing them to the people who actually have them. I’m so tired of hearing these braindead takes from contrarians who have no clue what they’re talking about. Season OG literally had the highest concurrent player count Fortnite has ever had, so how does it track that bringing it back now would somehow kill the game? It makes no sense. What will kill the game is if every new season they release is complete dogshit like they have been for the entirety of chapter 5.
How do people not realize how corporate all this crap really is. The only reason they’re doing this is because they made money off of it. They don’t care about making their game actually good. Instead of making new content that’s cool and exciting and actually balanced any time they do make new content there’s always a million things wrong with it. I’m not trying to sound like a D1 hater but I’m just being real the doom season and the fallout season were not that fun.
Who cares? If you think it’s cowardly, good on you. I personally think bringing og back is not only a good business move, but also just a good way to get old players TO LOG ON TO FORTNITE. It’s a good way to let players play what they want. If you get bored of CH 6, you can play og and vice versa bc it definitely will happen. New chapters just don’t have that much soul and haven’t since chapter 4. Plus, I have almost all the og battle passes and I couldn’t care less about pixels being resold. It’s just pathetic that you think og passes need to stay exclusive, as you think most people played to unlock them when most of the time the players just played to play the game? Just another crying video about og.
Concept:: maybe they could let people who already owned the battle passes back then finish them? It'd let people gain edit styles or complete sets, but no new accounts could get the old cosmetics. Maybe even limit it so that you can only get items from a set you've already started getting back then.
( This isn't the greatest idea, but I'm working around the non-existent problem of letting someone buy something digital that can be infinitely replicated )
or they could just return the battle passes to the game because its their content and they should be allowed to do whatever they want with it (aside from revoking it from players who already bought it ofc, but thats a separate issue)

reload is not dead what? ranked reload currently has 212k players, and the lowest playercount for reload (unranked zb) has 33.2k. that is NOT a dead game mode. a dead game mode is festival battle/jam stage. they have a combined total of 1.1k players
