Thanks!
Thank you!
Thank you for this canning recipe. And thank you Leisa and Forjars for Canuary. "There is no such thing as dry canning---there is vacuum sealing and there is trying to kill your family" ---love that!! and SO true!!
It’s sad, but I’ve been seeing more and more dry canning of potatoes videos. One lady in particular had paid some organization to approve the recipe as safe. I’m not sure how that works, but I think I’ll give it a hard pass.
I canned 12 pork butts last week. Two canners at a time…You are a most wonderful teacher and mentor. And for that, ma’am, I am very grateful!
For a single fella, this just makes the most sense. When I try to make burrito's with separate ingredients I inevitably end up just tossing food out.
Greg, you know leftovers are good for you right? 😎🐔
I’ve been contemplating meals in a jar rather than my usual ingredient canning I’ve been doing. This looks good. Thank you. I love canuary.
I have been wanting to do burritos in a jar since last year but have been to lazy to watch or read how to do it until now. Thank you, Leisa, for all the information and this visual aid for all us new canning people. I'm 72 and just started a year ago so I confess to being careful what I try or do. I thoroughly enjoy Canuary 2023 and now 2024 and have learned so much from you all. So, thank you.
I just turned 70 last month and began water bath canning about two years ago. I did my first pressure canning last week with a recipe from Canuary. It was the Pot Roast meal in a jar and being brain dead I forgot which smart canner I got it from. It was delicious!
Yay for you!!! I am in my fifties and just started my canning journey last fall with blood orange marmalade being my very first experience!
Another great recipe - thank you for giving correct USDA guidelines.
I started at 68 years old -- a couple of years ago. I guess we are never to old to learn. I found I really love canning!
Will this one will be good telling you I learned it all from you😅😊❤
Oh my gosh!!! That looks amazing. This could even be used as a nacho platter topping. Heat up, layer over some tortilla chips sprinkle cheese, pop in oven to get an even melt. Then chow down! Thank you for the recipe creating you have been doing recently. These recipes are delicious looking and can’t wait to try them out. ❤
Ohhhh. Nachos!
Just copied you comment. Great minds thinking a like. Love your name haha
@@michelesalazar2045 I love that we know how to spell it correctly!
So true!!@@michelemiller7254
Your personality shines through your videos Leisa. It's obvious you love what you do, and we're all so lucky because of it. I'm starting to do more meals in a jar and like them because they're easy going at the end of a long work day. Thank you for sharing.
I love canning, but in the 90s, I will wait for cooler weather. This looks delicious.
Thank you Leisa for organizing and sponsoring Canuary! This is my second year watching… I appreciate all I’m learning from everyone, and I’m grateful to For Jars for their sponsorship! ❤
I am an ingredient canner as well, but am intrigued by meals in a jar. Thanks, Leisa, for revamping this burrito recipe for safely canning, and thanks to you and For Jars for sponsoring the Canuary 2024 Collaboration!
Burritos in a jar? Yessss!!!! So many uses!!!
This is the main reason I LOVE Canuary!!! All of the channels have been vetted by you and I trust you 100% when it comes to safety. Even when you have "rebel" canned you said so and told us to do our own research!!!
This is right up my alley! I've been making burritos, tacos and nachos with my canned meat and beans. That leaves me with too much left over. Canning it all together is a no-brainer! Thanks, Leisa! 😃
Leisa, once again you have out done yourself! Thank you so much for putting this collaboration together. This is my second year of Canuary, also like to thank ForJars for joining you in sponsoring this year’s collaboration.
I just want to say that I am so thankful I began this canning journey. This past week we lost power for a few days. I lost NO meat that I canned! All my jars stayed sealed and I still have a lot of wonderful meat on my shelf. I can't wait to try burritos in the jar, I do love my canned pork!
I'm glad a bunch of these recipes are for chicken meals in a jar, as I want to make a lot more of these.
These are my absolute favorite kind of recipes! Having complete meals on the shelf has really cut down on our food budget because for us there’s no excuse for take out when we know we have so many options available that are super quick. Thank you for taking the time to research and bring this recipe to us!
Well there you go again just knocking out of the park. Thank you thank you and everyone involved with this collaboration this year. It is just so amazing. ❤
What a great idea for a single person in the pints.
Thank you, Leisa, for hosting Canuary 2024!
Leisa, I’m so happy to see you get into the world of meal canning instead of just ingredient canning. I enjoy these types of recipes as it makes day to day meal preparation so easy. Thanks for the recipe. Oh my goodness… less than 20 seconds after I posted my comment you said something about ingredient canning!!
Love this! Tonight's dinner at our house, is actually turkey burrito bowls using pressure canned Turkey with broth in the instapot with some extras, smells delicious & I can't wait for the hubster to get home to eat dinner! Thank you, Leisa, Forjars & ALL of your canning friends who are collaborating to make Canuary a fun informative event!! 😊
Can't wait to try this one Lisa also if I had any left over veggies I would can them also the time would be the same then I could just add a jar of my canned pork chicken or beef.😊😊😊
Shut the front door!!! My husband will thanks you so much for this! ❤
thanks for the remake so it's safe- great idea! Thanks also to FourJars for this collab.
Leisa, great video. I like the great detail that went into explaining this recipe also ingredient canning. Thank you for putting this collaboration together Canuary 2024
Thank you for this recipe and showing us how to make the actual burrito with them. This looks amazing. I make a lot of rice, so I'm thinking of thickening the broth and adding my leftover rice. Thank you for repeating the need for people NOT to use unapproved canning recipes and to follow SAFE canning practices. So very important.
O m g……I see soup starter, burritos, nachos, stuffed enchiladas…..ideas are endless….what about a fully stuffed Spanish rice casserole 🤯🤯🤯…thank you so much for lighting up my day
Even though I do a lot of canning, every year I learn so much from all these Canuary videos. Thank you for making them.
Looks great! I'm so glad you look out for us! Thanks for putting this collaboration together !
I love it when we get to see how it's used!!! Thanks, Leisa! This Canuary has not disappointed!
Those look gorgeous ❤ I got blessed this spring with a 1989 Presto 500, from a local yard sale for $15.00! 🙌 🙌 I looked for several years 😂 I am new to this and wanted a way to can my green beans, and food in a jar for me and hubby! I just found “1870’s homestead with Rachel” ❤ turns out she’s been doing what I was called to do for the past 3 yrs, also. I hunt, gather & preserve my garden ❤ And now thanks to you & the other beautiful ladies, my playlist for “Pressure Canning”, is growing by leaps & bounds ❤ thank you for sharing & helping create this new world for me to explore! I can’t wait to try this, especially since, your inspiration, has multiple safe ways to make ❤
Burritos in a jar, now you’re talking. Can’t get any better than that! Can’t wait to try it.
Yum, this looks so easy and convenient. What an excellent way to keep my husband easily fed when I am at work.Thank you for dissecting and making it a safe canning recipe. Love Canuary!
This has been amazing, Leisa. My first one. I have learned so much and met wonderful collaborators for the first time as well. I opened my very first jar of ugly chicken {the thighs) and they were the best! I kept repeating your words...Trust the Process. Thank you for doing this. Every episode has been a gift.
My family will be delighted to have the burritos in a jar on the pantry shelf!
Keep preaching Canning safety! So many people think if it is a recipe online it is safe☹️, this is definitely a recipe I will try!
Never in my wildest dream thought about canning up burrito in a jar! You always have the best ideas for rotating flavors in your pantry. 🎉❤I just bought 20 lbs of ground beef. I made 10lbs of meatballs today (for the freezer) but will be making burritos in a jar with the other 10lbs! Thanks for the awesome tip and something extra special for the pantry!!
What a great recipe ... I can see my family loving this! 😋😋
I also Love meals in jars! And I Love burritos! You and your other collaborators have taught me so very much over the last 3 years!! Thank you so much Leisa and ForJars for bringing this to all of us in RUclips land!!!
Thanks to Forjars and you Leisa for bringing us Canuary. This burrito in a jar is a great idea and it looks delicious. ❤
Aldi has a great Spanish rice. It takes less than 10 mins to cook. I think that would be great in this. Either cooked in with the mixture like you did the white rice or made separately and added to the burrito. Great recipe, thanks Leisa!
This is so awesome! We always buy frozen burritos, but this looks so much better. I can't wait to can some of the burrito in a jar mix so we can have this available and not have to rely on the frozen ones.
Frozen burritos oh my! Never.cook some hamburger add taco seasonings and can up after par cooking hamburger...
Cowboy cooking at it's best. Thanks for sharing a safe version. 👍
Thanks for turning a bad recipe into a safe one!
I really appreciate the effort you put into educating seasoned and new canners by presenting SAFE canning procedures. One of my granddaughters wanted to learn how to can and asked for my advice. We live 500 miles for each other so I shared what knowledge I could and then told her to watch your RUclips channel. She is now obsessed with canning.
Thank you for breaking this recipe down. I look forward to using ForJars products. This Canuary Collaboration is amazing! I truly appreciate all you do. I have a couple pork butts in the freezer and I see a new recipe on my pantry shelf❤❤
I had to watch this twice. I have two males here that love burritos. This will make it quicker and easier. Thanks for bringing this recipe! Fast food/meals in a jar has been a great addition to my pantry. Happy Canuary!
Dear Lisa wanted to tell you we canned the Burrito in a jar, it was fabulous we thickened it a bit we filled crispy shells cheese fresh veggies plus sour cream was fabulous so thank you regards Helen & Joe
Thank you for always emphasizing safe canning. My mother-in-law introduced me to the world of canning so many years ago and taught me the whys of safe canning. Perfect for anyone new to canning. Thanks, Leisa!
Thank you for sponsoring Canuary. I'm getting so many great recipes to try. My husband has recently been diagnosed with ALS and sometimes has a hard time chewing cuts of meat. by using canned meat that is so tender he is able to enjoy meat dishes without expending so much energy.
“Roll that beautiful burrito footage” came to my mind while watching this. Thank you Leisa for Canuary and all the work you put into it.
Hahahahaha! 😂😂😂
This is a must have on my shelves. Thank you Leisa and Forjars for such an awesome 2024 collaboration!
I would have never have thought of a burrito in a jar. I love Canuary
Wozzer!! Who would have thought about Burritos in a Jar! I am having the best time catching up on all the great canning videos for Canuary 2024 after my kidney surgery! Lesa you have done an amazing job of putting together some awesome canners for this collobration. Big shout out to Forjars, you are not kidding about how great this company is!
Can’t wait to see this burrito in a jar canning
You are so right! Who doesn't like a yummy burrito?
Thank you for Canuary ! I am really enjoying it!
Thank you for this collaboration. I'm learning a lot and getting motivated at the same time! I'm finally canning the meat from my freezer to make it shelf stable, so I'm usually prepping something while I'm watching the Canuary videos. Lots and lots of ugly chicken!
Yum yum. ❤
Wow my children and grandchildren will love this and so will I when all I need to do is open a jar! Thanks for this opportunity Sutton’s Daze and Forjars!❤
Dont want beans, just omit, add canned beans ,on your shelf after you heat up.if desired.add salsa too,you canned up. So easy. Or can beans, can meat with burritos seasoning, use canned onions, canned vegetables...Heat on stove add to tortillas. Or make a soup. Its that easy.
Leisa, Thanks so much for telling folks what is not safe! Those cowboy canners will hurt someone or themselves! I'm a fellow Michigander down in Kalamazoo, appreciate you, your recipes, common sense, humanity and awesomeness!
Oh my I love this !! Thank you for making this a safe canning recipe of “Canned Burritos “ Thank you to Forejars for their awesome lids to keep our jars safely sealed !!
I printed out the recipe for this and my husband found it in the printer bin. He brought it to me and excitedly said, Are you gonna make these for the larder? He loves burritos.
I initially thought, "Burrito, what?" You have convinced me!. By the way, I opened one of my cans tonight, and the feel of the lid made me take a double-take. Yep, it was thick and strong, and it was a FORJARS lid! I've STILL never had one fail. I tell everyone to use them.
It’s great that you use the meat you have on hand to make your recipe. I wouldn’t have thought to do a burrito with pork. Loving Canuary videos! Everyone participating is putting out great stuff.
Leisa, Thanks for making this a safe recipe! I really appreciate your time to dissect an unsafe recipe to make it safe.
Love it!!
I uploaded this a few weeks ago. One of our favorites for sure. Loved seeing another channel do it as well. ❤❤ I love this collaboration. I having been trying to can something everyday, but I have been so busy with so many projects. I am hoping to officially join in next year. You are an amazing lady and thank you for doing this.

Thank you for this awesome line up! I've canned 6 wide mouth jars of flavored potatoes (SO great when the spices are given per jar!!) and tomorrow we're doing your Burrito in a Jar for our omnivores and just the flavored veggies for our Vegetarians! YAY, thank you from AZ
Thanks for making this a safe canning recipe for everyone, Leisa.
