    Great video Derek and fantastic product. Solves a massive problem in the industry which was highlighted most when we had the Beast from the East. Nice neat finish which the installer can be proud of 👏. This is a huge plus for Gas Safe engineers and a no brainer decision to ensurr compliant protection for the homeowner's boiler when the weather drops. Any professional installer should have this kit in their van without a doubt. Thanks for the demo and sharing the video Derek 👍

    Fantastic video Derek and thanks so much for taking the time to make it. With regards to the BOND & SEAL, this has been the only issue if you look at it as a problem. Our product is not silicone or the same as any other product you can buy from your merchant, it is made to do as the name says 😆... to bond and seal all the joints as this is as important as the insulation to make sure no moisture/water/snow gets inbetween the insulation and pipe, which not only aids freezing but also deteriorates the insulation. Its consistency is to make sure if is fit for purpose, its thicker than silicone and also helps expansion and contraction in different temperatures. I could not put the Bond & Seal in a mastic tube as it started to set after a week because air and moisture was entering the part that you push into the tube. I looked at using a metal tube but again it started to set so the only tube I found I could transport it in was the one we have. I did not want to make the product any thinner or it would not be as good as it is now, I found the tube its in kept it stable. I also wanted to make sure you all have plenty of the product so there is more than enough for a standard install in a tube ... I think you missed saying that a tube comes in the Connection kit so installers would not forget and use something else , like i said its not silicone or like any other products in you merchant as they would fail over time and be hard to maintain. I find its best to cut the end of the nozzle off right down to the end of the threads and it comes out easier. With the rest, as there will be a lot left over, you can cut each corner of the other end and it comes out easier. Wayne has shown a tool you can buy that makes it simple to get out of the tube, or some other advise is to cut the whole top off or put on to a piece of wood and use a little trowel to apply. I spent 18 months finding a product that is right for this job and can be used in all weathers so hope you can see how important this is in the whole complete solution for Installers like you with over 30 years experience. I wanted to make a pain job better, comply and look quality on any customers home.

    Just had a new boiler installed last week to replace my 20 year old Vaillant.The new boiler is great but the ugly part of the the job is the outside condensate pipe which has to run 4 meters to the drain.It looks awful! I wish I could find someone in the Black Country that could install a Condensate Pro System for me,it looks really good.

      HI steve you would have to insulate and seal all exsternal pipework on the sink waste or any that go to out side to MIs and Bs6798. we found best way would not be to use the sink waste and run a separate 32mm condense. Firstly you don’t know who’s piped the waste; ie. kitchen fitter, and you would be the one the customer calls if there was a problem , Allso it may get blocked with food waste, the falls may not be adequate for the condense etc. All in all would keep them separate and use the correct materials outside. then you can advise the customer this is just for there condensate and to check the end if going in to a drain for signs of ice

  • @kevinschoales844
    @kevinschoales844 3 года назад

    I can see where this can be used and recommended, but fussy customers don't want more pipes outside.
    Joining into sink waste ? Would it still need lagging ? Some condensing boiler traps drip others run ?

    The only issue I had was the bond and seal. My neighbours condensate pipe was frozen and I used some left over lagging, and bloody hell was it difficult to get the stuff out the tube. It was 0 degrees and started to snow. I put it on the radiator first then in boiling water, and still struggled to get it out. Might try a warmer day next. What was the tool used to get it out the tube?

  • @rickbear7249

    Derek, I've been looking at the external pipework of a neighbour's condensation boiler, and I'm puzzled. She has a very short (6"/100mm) length of 15mm copper pipe that emerges through the exterior wall, before going back through the wall into the house. The boiler installer said it's the condensation pipe. What I cannot understand is why a ] shape length of 15mm copper pipe would come outside the house before going back inside. It doesn't make sense to have this loop of pipe described as the condensation pipe. Any thoughts on what/why this is, please Derek? Thanks

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  2 года назад

      A condensing pipe should not be copper because it will corrode. It will probably be the safety valve discharge pipe that the installer has turned back to the wall.

    • @rickbear7249
      @rickbear7249 2 года назад

      @@tomkatgastraining Thank you, you're a star. I'll do some research into that. Although, I must admit, I'm confused as to how it can be a safety valve discharge pipe, as I can’t see why the fitter would route it outside the house (through the wall) then route it vertically 100mm, before going back through the wall and into the building? I'll do some more research.
      Rick

    Love the concept but definitely way over priced. If a customer has serious issues then this product is probably for them, but to include this product in a new install you'd need to notify customer that they'd be a significant increase plus Labour time. Those 45 degree offsets are a great idea but again far from cheap.
    Hopefully the industry will have other choices as well 👌

      Regarding the insulation at £4, you may find its not fit for purpose unless you paint it twice and seal it correctly with the manufacturer's adhesive which can't be done in low temperatures, rain or snow. You may also find that the insulation you mention can easily get damaged and can't be maintained. Yes, Condensate Pro is not as cheap as a lots of installation but when you look at the MI's and BS 6798 Condensate Pro provides a complete solution that can be fitted fast , gives max protection and as you can see with Derek's before and after video, looks quality on a customer's homes
