Recently bout my tundra and starting to browse all the different modifications i would like todo. Seeing a video thats very clear with what todo and how is very helpful and encouraging that i can do alot of these mods myself. Ty for sharing.
Mike, Very nicely done, love the low rumble. As they say around here you just put the Tundra into " beast " mode. I think you will like this tale. our grandson Cooper ( 11 ) stayed with us this past weekend. He keeps his old bike here. Saturday he's out back hammering and bashing.I went to see what he was upto, he's busy taking the brakes off. I said to him, Why you taking the brakes off Coop?" He said," I'm taking the brakes off because they are slowing me down." When you think about it theres no answer to that. When he grows up he'll be an engineer. Know matter the job he only needs a large hammer. Cheers, Chris Perry.
I’m on Tundra number 2. My first one was a 2010 and had duels on it. I loved that truck but was ready for my 1794. I’m dueling it out soon. Great video.
S O U N D S✌ Great Uncle Mike it's cool to Bring Some Youth to your Truck.. And thank ya for showing us A little of Bit of Your City.. Have a Great Weekend.😎
Good job Mike I liked the video my only thought sir was those 2 front pipe gaskets should have been replaced they are way cheap they dont come flat like that they are round new I've done many exhausts systems through my 28 years as a mechanic that kit was put together very nice always liked flowmaster and even more I'll see if they have a kit for my equinox a single pipe kit anyway thanks for sharing this installation God bless my friend
Just finished this installation on my 2010 4x4 SR5 Tundra. Notes: Getting the bolts off were impossible, even with PB plaster and impact. Had to grind/cut them off. Went to Toyota to buy four new bolts/nuts. This was the worst part (took about 6 hours). Using the exhaust hanger remover helped a lot, and WD40 worked decently while installing the new rods in the stabilizer. Using bungee cords helps when installing the components. Looks and sounds great.
Well done... I'm a small guy so I don't have to lift the side of the tundra up to get to the piping. I'm using dual 6inch cherry bomb that comes out on the side too. However the plate inside the cherry broke inside so the air flow is just a straight flow which is a bit loud. Anyhow I'm going with the 40 series to try it out and keep the loudness down.
@@N-Scale I'm in center of California so I don't have to deal with snow, rust, etc but these photos are just photos of the cherry bomb. However these photos are taken during at nite so it's not the greatest but still waiting on the new 40 series to come in. I'm using another stock tubing to install this piping but kept my original exhaust and tubing on the side just in case of anything. photos.app.goo.gl/V8zxm93sd2qX2mmp6 photos.app.goo.gl/KwUKKPk6WQEuNKxd6 photos.app.goo.gl/GxnPTegj9nPaMufX7 photos.app.goo.gl/nvSQcBDupMCS7ztX7 photos.app.goo.gl/U3sqNTX4fasaqLuMA photos.app.goo.gl/dz93GDvytUP3Spox5 photos.app.goo.gl/qWRXGjPcgsKTW4x67 photos.app.goo.gl/DgF81XPkspszAv6DA photos.app.goo.gl/b39qV2tvRrsTZnY8A
Your next project you should look into adding an intake to have a better air flow so your tundra doesn't have to keep searching for air. This help takes all the air restriction away. This will balance out with the exhaust so you dont have to burn up fuel to much
Nice job Mike, did it increase your hp? I have 2012 F150 3.5L twin turbo ecco boost runs 365hp/420lbs torque. Looking to get some more hp by replacing the stock exhaust. What's your thoughts?
Great video - In reading the commentary why did you take it off? What was your overall experience with the system? Too loud? Too much drone? Loss of power?
It was fine in normal driving but when the camp trailer was on it it echoed and droned off the trailer and was too loud while towing long distance. Thanks , Mike
I have a 2011 crewmax 5.7 identical to yours. My two pipes measured 2.13" O.D before and after the muffler. I can only guess it translates to 2.25" oem pipes. Your muffler box says 2.5". Do the clamps allow for the difference in o.d or are you pipes 2.5* ?? Reason for asking is this is exactly the kit I want for my truck except with a FM 40 series muffler.
The exhaust note was terrific until I hooked the camp trailer to it . When I did the RPM it would run at with the trailer on was just right for some medium drone that I did not like so I sold them in favor of quiet exhaust when towing. Mike
I met someone who used to work at Ford back in the day. He told me the reason they moved the exhaust exits to behind the wheel is due to what it did to the paint and tire over time. Good luck with that!?!
I used to work for AMC and Lincoln and I never heard that. I heard it was because in the day of people being able to ride in camper shells and such that it posed a potential problem with Carbon Monoxide. Either way I guess .
@@tjm9565 I had a 4X4 2012 with a 4.6 and it was not enough to pull the camp trailer so gave it to my son and bought this 2010 2X4 with 5.7 and it does very well. Nothing else to complain about at all.
Yeah I know I just priced all the components in the kit and it’s know where near $500. These high prices are what has kept me from changing my exhaust out. Love the sound though!
I will be installing mine this weekend on my 2012 Tundra! Cam't wait! Thanks for posting this! Cheers!

Flowmaster FX muffler sounds great!! I installed a corsa exhaust and it sounds great but your setup definitely is a thumbs up 👍🏾

Hello uncle Mike .
What a job well done.
Sound is cool .
I’ll go to 4 wheel part to have it done for my TRD this week.
Have a nice weekend, sir .
You are very welcome and hope you enjoy the system.

I live in Albuquerque so from what normal you need a 6" lift and big tires and fancy rims now to go with the new pipes.
I do not understand your question
