Uncle, if you read this, I love the classlimits and play lots on UT but I have a tiny suggestion Make a single server where the classlimit of sniper is 0 for the EU and US region. It would be a great experiment and make the game more fun
Pop Culture reference is ok as long it doesn't break the Art Style of TF2's 70s & 80s setting otherwise the game will be another generic & uninventive multiplayer game.
for anyone who doesn't know sigafoo from the sigafoo save, check his fragvid "from engie with love" where at the end he whips out the wrangler + rescue ranger tech that he was saving up for nations cup grand finals vs France on barnblitz last. watched that game live as it happened with mates and we couldnt believe what he did. Tek on heavy literally touching the gun holding M1 into it and sigafoo kept it up until France's uber faded and it finished them all off. super hype moment
20:20 this is a common bug on the map where if u join a round in progress, the sawblades will desync visually on your client from what's actually happening on the server. probably bc when u join, the client assumes a standard position for the saws but bc the game is already in progress it's different. no clue rly but it's been happening for years 40:00 more pd maps would be nice, also think more of the halloween maps should have their normal counterparts added. so ppl can actually get familiar with them. atom smash getting added therefore becomes a double win 1:17:00 the quick play copium is so funny to me. for reference, most ppl will agree quick play was awful. queueing would take forever. parties didnt work. u would get shit servers all the time too. the star video is a good reference actually. if you ever hear anyone say they wan't quick play and pre-MyM tf2 back, you shall know two things about them: 1) they probably didn't actually play before meet your match, if they did then they would how good we have it now. lot's of people who are in this category who overly romanticize quick play, citing it as 'back when they could enjoy tf2'. that kind of opinion just shows u grew out of the game and are grasping at straws to point figures as to why it is u dont like the game anymore 2) they probably like starting drama or think tf2 is in a bad state bc its not getting massive updates every week. news flash. game doesnt need it. if u think it does, you're just wrong. if tf2 NEEDED updates, it would have died during meet your match. It didn't. And now the general consensus is that tf2 is in the best state it's ever been 1:23:00 have u considered that back then people actually knew doomsday existed. whereas nowadays i can guarentee 99% of ppl either don't know doomsday exists or can't associate the name of the map with the actual map at all. so then, pinning this on 'casual bad, quick play good' just makes u seem rly stupid 1:43:00 anyone who says MyM 'ruined' tf2. that's people who stopped liking tf2 for one reason or another and are using some common scapegoat like MyM to point at, because then it takes away their own responsibility and they can just focus on being unproductive and negative. u see this kind of attitude a lot in 'older' communities where an IP, game, movie etc. has shifted a LOT from its initial appearances. So you get ppl who once liked the thing, telling themselves they still like the thing but there's just this 'one thing' ruining it. wether it be MyM, bots, comp players. you name it and theyll scapegoat it. opinions like this are best ignored or even ridiculed. we should all pray that the ppl with such an opinion move on to a more productive hobby cuz tf2 aint it
A little suspicious that I've been trying extremely hard to reach Uncle Dane about something that's important to him, his friends, TF2 and his career... and he stays silent while people he associates with gaslight me and slander me for years. Big project coming soon. All involved better come forward.
I love you Uncle Dane, but his "Trickle Down Balance" take is completely cooked. The "weapons shouldn't become abusable at the hands of a certain player" argument has absolutely nothing to do with the criticism of prioritizing balancing the game with the competitive players first. "Trickle Down Balance" as the name implies, and as described in the video, is the idea that if a weapon is good to go for competitive than it should also be good for the casual audience by default. Meaning the game should be balanced with the competitive players in mind, and that this will naturally trickle down to the casual players and benefit them as well. This is what frustrates people. TF2 only functions on a competitive setting if the ruleset is modified to cater to the extremely rigid competitive meta. The heart of the game is, and has always been, in it's ability to accommodate any type of player with fun weapon unlocks in it's huge lobbies with long stale-mates. In no other PVP multiplayer game can you run around with a sandwich in your hand and not get reported, so the non hardcore nature of the game is a big pull for people, while still accommodating those who want to be sweaty as well. The competitive community has every right to and the tools to create a version of the game they enjoy, similar to how Smash tournaments won't use items. But forcing these changes on everyone with the "trickle down" mentality is the problem. It is undeniable that many of the controversial balance changes where done in order to appease the competitive community. If the argument was to make sure weapons weren't abusable at the hands of a certain type of player, then why even use the "trickle down" phrase? This new argument suggests that weapons should be balanced with EVERYONE in mind, casual and competitive, with no hierarchy or direction, which clearly goes against the very thesis statement of Uncle Dane's original video. Just a little disappointed that he completely rephrased his original point to strawman the argument. That particular video has been criticized a lot, so I was looking forward to hearing his refined take or defense.
Glad to see Crazy Danes back from fighting zombies

and the queue to join said server would double the player count available on the server 😁

I still dont know who mfdoom is and dont care enough to find out... and that ruins that cosmetic for me
if random crits are to be removed melee weapons need a rebalancing
Aye, maybe having a light attack and a charged heavy attack
