The Kendama community NEEDS more of these videos, there are hardly any tips/tricks videos to make a trick easier, just a bunch of tutorial videos with super basic tips/tricks that everyone knows
tip 5 is a big one, I just got 10 lighthouse flips in a row the other day, sounds boring but when I got it I felt as good as when I lace a new trick. I think consistency is just as important and impressive as technique
Just started recently. Been just going from the spike to the big cup over and over trying to see how many times I can get it in a row lol. I got 3 so far.
This was so sick dude!! Please keep making more videos! We need more Kendama RUclips content out there that helps out new players. And side note, the sticky note trick is a great piece of advice! I found using a thin piece of electrical tape above the string hole works well too 👍 luckily slippery serados seem to be more rare these days
Dude thanks so much TJ! Following your footsteps - you are a big inspiration! Ohhhh electrical tape! That sounds like it would work great. Gotta try that out. Thanks for the input!
Yo just wanted to say thank you for this video especially on the comparison part. I’ve been playing for 10 years now and it’s been a minute since I landed a big trick and I’ve been frustrated and expected myself to be at like Gallagher level and you’ve reminded me to be humble and go back to simple tricks. Thank you 🙏
Great vid. I would love to see more of a kendama youtube presence! I've been playing since about '11/'12 on & off (haven't really played for like 3.5-4 years), and I think this tip is probably the best tip for any level of player; play every goddamn day if you want to get better. Without getting too nerdy about it, set goals! I set a trick for the week and write down on my white board how many times I've landed it. After watching this vid I am actually going to add another weekly goal to go for a trick 100 times and write down how many times I land it.
We need a Kendama Bible where masters of specific tricks post their best tips on their tricks. I've been trying to learn taps to jug spike or 2 jug spike for 3 months now pretty consistently. Only landed it a few times but I've noticed I've gotten a lot better with my juggles so feeling good.
I kind of flattened my spike before ever hearing about the super glue thing... it's not flat, it's just round so I was wondering if it'd be a good idea to sandpaper it back into shape slightly and then glue it. or should I just play this one until the spike is completely flat to maybe one day do tightropes and other madness and just buy a new kendama to maintain the spike there?
New damas always find a way into your hand so just have a flat spike i have 3 damas i shread daily because they play differently and are better/worse at certain things just find the dama you like the feeling of
you should glue and sandpaper your spikes bro(except for if you want to do like border balance and shit). sharp spikes just play better and highers your chances of spiking your dream trick so i would suggest taking the time to take care of your spikes cuz its just nicer that way
@@deadlyxelliot3544 I'd have to glue it before dulling it down though, right? or do you mean sandpaper it back to spike shape and then glue it? it was my first dama and I didn't really know shit about shit so I'll be getting other ones soon enough ^^
@@oyblech8671 glue also starts to wear down so your spike is gonna be dull at some point but if you got a fresh ken, just glue the spike immediately. 3 layers of glue is perfect
why don't they just make the tip out of delrin or a softer plastic... it would be so easy to make on a lathe. or you could use HDPE. someone take this idea and change the dama. super gluing the tip is annoying and my idea would last longer.

I use just a small dot of wood glue. It holds well and can be broken free easily and doesn't harm the wood
@@Hisdudeness101 Ohhhh good idea! Thanks for the input

as someone that has played since 2015, but very inconsistently, i appreciate this video very much
These are so good!! Keep making content like this because new players just want to learn but don't know these tips to really get them going. So dope!
Aweome Colin will do!
using bees wax on the sword to keep the serado on works really well for me. Will also have to try a sticky note next time if I don't have beeswax :D
Super useful tips! Thanks Isaac
thanks Kariem
Love the vibe man, another great video, stoked for my bloom to come in the mail and support someone so knowledgeable and involved in the community
TY. Very helpful.
Thanks Issac!
Thank you dude! Nice Video.
I never knew about that Sarado tip, thanks! do you think if i put a heavier sword on a lighter Sarado it would be better for slingers?
Yes I believe so!

Yes! Aiming for September :) Thanks for the feedback
