This is the tutorial we all needed. 😂 thank you for making it. Explained so clearly. Combined with the POV, this helps even for someone who is already aware of these general concepts.
Speaking from amateur experience (almost 3 years of playing kendama), I never realized how much I glossed over the spinning technique for juggles. This just opened a whole new door into my dama play. Thanks Isaac.
Another detail you can touch on is how high to throw the tama. Hole control explanation was amazing. For example “airplane 1.5 swap jug late Ken spike” explaining to people that tossing the tama high for the late Ken is crucial but also being able to control the forward push of the hole so you have time to flip the Ken and spike. Another one is the angle of your hand when you catch the Ken and tama. This video was awesome I loved it
This tutorial could single-handedly advance the average level of kendama across all players. I just unlocked a handful of tricks I didn't even have on my radar yet. The repeated slow-mo footage really helped me to see how the trick was being done. And showing the same technique used in different tricks in slighty tweaked was also great. If I were to have any critique, it would be that I would have wanted some more detail on how, exactly, the hand is supposed to move when doing the forward throw. Possible some shots from the side were the view is cropped to focus on the hand and locked onto it. Overall, great great great tutorial. I found it extremely helpful, so thank you so so much for taking the time and going through the head pain of making it. Just THANKS!
This really did help so much I have some grinding to do on these but it made so much make sense. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us the techniques. the way you showed it from all angles was amazing and super helpful. You didn't rush threw the video and really broke down the trick. Top tier tutorial!
Well. Having watched this video, I went on to hit about 8 juggles to spikes to far, as opposed to my daily one I get lucky and hit lol. Super great tutorial. Appreciate everything you do, Isaac 🫡🙏
Very good tips, I play kendama for 3 years and for 1 1 tap kinda tricks and lines that you throw tama 3x or more, I never use "tama control" because if I did, trick will be harder to do, because than I would focus on two things, not one.maybe after this video, I will change my mind, but I am not sure yet. ✌️
Very comprehensive, something we haven't had but it's cool to see after all the time/research you out into it. Stoked to see what other tips you've come across!
Dude this is perfect. I am just getting into jug to spike and this is what I needed. Also always wondered how to get the bevel up consistently too. Of course! Just spin it! Now I feel like I know exactly how to grind efficiently! Thanks again, you rock!!!
Awesome! Never thought about utilizing the spin but i realize now that its the same as if you spin the tama for someones first spike... conservation of angular momentum. Laced my first 1turn swap downspike within 5 minutes after watching this and using the spin. Thank you so much Isaac!
Believe it or not but first time I landed a trade with spin was tap juggle to sara grip downspike xD I've barely landed tap jug to spike like 3 times at max and landed that randomly just saw the tama spinning had the ken in sara and went for it and got it!! Was out of fram but man that was a great moment hahah. Kendama is great like that u can land tricks out of your league by just going for them and getting lucky.
Watching you play is so fun. You hit my dream trick with ease. The tap jug tap jug spike. I’m here because I need some fwd motion spin. I’ve been practicing the spike jug spike since back when bonz suggestion we practice on krom. I have the Wyatt twirl tho. I want to learn his fast hand dark sides / another dream trick. I try to practice lots of barrel rolls because of him too lol. Anyways, I love juggling and have been for years and always hoped the toss consistency would come but never did. 😊It’s time for me to juggle birds and move on. Thanks lotus. Isaac. We have the same name. 👍
I think that tama controll is something that you just learn. It’s great to know how to do spike juggle spike the same way every time, but if you practice juggles for some time it will just come naturally. I don’t think about how i throw the tama out of taps, but i have no problem spiking them. I can get a juggle spiek from a 4 tap basically every try but i don’t think about how i release the tama. Also i think that it’s a little bit better to have the tama spin to the side, because the juggle spikes from a juggle with the tama on the side are a little bit more consistent.
@@LotusKendamas only a little bit from taps, but if i am doing taps to juggles to stall i tap with the bevel up and that gives me the perfect rotaition, the tap are a little bit harder on the bevel but it makes the juggle to stall really easy
Oh my god! This is a very helpful technique! Much love for you, my man Issac!!! Quick question. What are the drills to practice the spinning technique?
I have tried the forward rotarion for months and i have not got the dama to rotate what so ever and if it does. Is spins away from me. Can you please help?

awesome great to hear!
Thanks for this tutorial!
I'm struggling with this issue right now, but this video brought me closer to solution.

thank you so much! yes that is a good critique, to try to answer it now, I would say it's more of a wrist motion than an arm motion :)
Been struggling on this lately. This tutorial is exactly what I needed. Can't wait to practice !
Bro the 12 to 6 is such a good insight

"obviously stunt fast is a really difficult trick." lol. agree. been getting mine more honed slowly but surely. but sheesh.
i learned in about 6 weeks every day jugg spike it to have a tama control but there is always room up to get better!!!
now i can improve with the Tama Spin!!!
Great video
Needed this tutorial 4 years ago had to learn these through trial and error so nice to have a video about it

Can you do a quickie on tips for using the head mount for phones for the best shots, comfort, and any other tips?
Awesome video!! I’m having trouble doing throw taps/ tap jugg tap if you could make a video on that I would very much appreciate it!
Got you!! Coming next
Thank you so much! 💗
insane!!
god I love kendama
Oh my god! This is a very helpful technique! Much love for you, my man Issac!!! Quick question. What are the drills to practice the spinning technique?
just tossing the tama on its own and learning to spin without the ken involved :) and then slowly involve the ken!
I have tried the forward rotarion for months and i have not got the dama to rotate what so ever and if it does. Is spins away from me. Can you please help?
Where did you buy the phone holder?😅🙏
sesh.
i agree
