R.I.P. to those ants they poured the cement on lol. They will be the warrior guardians of the flag pole if anyone tries to Raid their lair. Awesome video!!
I gotta say, 1. Thank you to your Dad for his service, an 2. I love you Dad being on here. He was a goo sport. You should have more colabs with him in the future.
I mentioned it to you in a PM, but I truly enjoyed seeing you and your Dad spending time together. It makes me really miss mine, and the things we haven't been able to do since his passing. Cherish him as long as you can! And I appreciate you sharing him with us!
I just ordered a Service First freedom edition flag pole to honor my father that was a Marine that passed a few years ago and my son that was in the Army National Guard for over 15 years working towards a full career until he was killed in 2021. I already have experience with installing fence post and Purple Martin bird house poles but I wanted to make sure I do it right. I put bricks under the Purple Martin pole sleeves to give them a solid base. Your video was more informative than some of the other flag pole installation videos I’ve seen. Well done.
Great video, guys! I'm installing a 25ft pole on my property and this video is, and will be very helpful. Also, I have a thick clay in the desired location that is filled with maple tree roots, which is about as fun to dig out as your ground. I've found a pick axe works WAY better to dig through and break that shit up than a spade. Break it up with the pick and scoop it out with a spade or square shovel.
I’m a Maintenance Tech at an apartment complex but I had zero clue on how to install a flagpole. Your video plus all the items needed right in the description made it very easy to install and it came out great. Thank you!
I made a flagpole for my father some years ago for fathers day. Wooden, and just bolted it to the side of his upstairs deck. Nice to see how to do a freestanding one.
Great video but next time once the concrete begins to thicken install the pole in the sleeve so you can “plum” all sides with a level. Just an observation and tip we use
Mike, you know. I think something that would have been cool for the flag pole, make a concrete round or square base almost like mini memorial. Maybe even some flower vases to decorate around the pole. Just a thought! Great video by the way, dad seems cool.
Pray for America! I am going to rig up something tall on my roof and paint markings on it. Then walk around my neighborhood and get the right height so it is visible.
I normally tie the top of the flag to the upper loose end of the halyard and the bottom of the flag to the lower loose end of the halyard so the flag becomes part of the halyard. That way the flag is always kept tight! Horses for courses I suppose Great video mind!!
Go write to NBC that there are too many ads on the Olympics. Get over it people. That’s how you tubers make money. I’m here for the content, not the ads. Who cares.
Great video but is there a reason why you didn't make a brace with scrap 2x4 before pouring? Might have been a little easier than holding it while pouring
New to the channel and live your stuff! I saw your kitchen build and I love it! I was looking to Reno my own kitchen and am scrounging the internet trying to find out if it’s possible to DIY acrylic paint? My wife wants that luxury modern look and the most budget option I’ve found is to buy all new ikea cabinets and do it myself but even that is definitely not budget. Please help! 😨
If the hole is dug 8 inches deeper than PVC pile is long, how do you get it to protrude an inch above ground? Do you let about 8" of concrete harden first under it as a base and put the pvc on top of that?
I bought a flag pole off Amazon and it was a five piece 25 footer and I'm already regretting it. When the wind picks up it really leans to one side and after the wind stops it straightens back up......BUT it's done this so much over the last month that the pole leans to one side now, you can see it good when you stand away from it. I wonder if there's a way I can put some shims in the pole to fix it?
1. Display the U.S. flag from sunrise to sunset on buildings and stationary flagstaffs in the open. When a patriotic effect is desired the flag may be displayed 24-hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness. 2. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.
I thought that was what you meant , but because you just started "listing" the steps without any context. I doubted that that was what you meant. Thank you for clarifying.
@@lotheeus i should added more lol am ex military and it bugs me when people dont display the flag right at night. Even my local church has done it and i left them a note now they have it right. :)

Hi, at 3:10 it is said that the hole is 6 or 8 inches deeper than the pvc pipe. I’m confused; doesn’t that mean that the pvc pipe would be underground once backfilled?

I really wish I had a dad like this
Gary was def a frat bro, based on how chill he did that shotgun haha. You have a cool dad!
Mike that’s Awesome!!! I lost my dad about a year and a half ago. I used to enjoy doing stuff like that with him. Enjoy the time while you have it.
Y'all are too cute. Especially your dad. I think he needs to make a lot more appearances here on your channel.
I love that we got to me Modern Dad!!!!! This brings me joy.
Omg!!! Gairy’s Great! How awesome to do this project with your dad! Making memories for you both - great job dad!! I love your show Mike!!
Great to see love between a son and his father.
I love your dad! It’s no wonder that you’re such an awesome man, Mike Montgomery.
Love this video. Doing things with your Dad always makes things even more fun and memorable.
What an awesome Dad! More of him in projects please.
The amount of high fives and fist bumps you gave to your dad is 10 times more than I gave my father in these past 10 years...Cool video!

THIS PROJECT WAS DOPE!! We want more DAD!
Besides being excited about the flag pole, I was very excited about that AMC eagle SX4 in the driveway!
I always prefer to put the knot in between the carabineers. That way it doesn't matter which way you pull the flag up.
Fist bumps and high fives abound! And I am here for every single one! 🤜🏻 🤛🏻
Found this 2 years later when I’m about to mount one myself, thank you, AMERICA!!
I like when you have your dad helping !
Looks good! Its great seeing father/son projects :) keep that up. We need more of that in this world
Your dad is so awesome!

I really liked this video and also working with your dad, family is great ,
Love that you had your Dad on this! keep up the great content
Thank you for your service Gairy Montgomery from a fellow Marine myself.
I believe this project would have so much fun and pay tons of respect if it was done a week or 2 before the 4th of July
Digging having Dad on the videos!!
Good looking flag pole fellas
You're dad's a beast ..Gen X rules.LOL..Looks kinda like where I used to live in the Mojave desert. Hesperia.
Came here wanting to learn about putting in a flag pole, left feeling American AF!
7:40 was better than the winning goal in the Miracle movie
😂😂😂

So is Gary the Squirrel actually Gary Montgomery II?

Oohrah to you Dad!
Cool quick video with Pops. Should do a follow up on how to add lighting for that flag if you plan on leaving it flying 24/7, IAW US Flag Code.
So wholesome! We love this content
Pray for America! I am going to rig up something tall on my roof and paint markings on it. Then walk around my neighborhood and get the right height so it is visible.
Awesome duo with your dad! The audio volume was very inconsistent, but that’s fixable, and your videos still rock!!
Awesome…. More dad on the channel please!
Cool, more dad videos!
I didn’t see it in the video, did you plan on taking down your flag everyday, or did you install a light for all night purposes?
U think u have the most awesome Dad
You did the pole just like a PRO. #STAYSAFE #PHILLYPHILLY 🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing!
For anyone that doesn't want to waste their time, the actual instructional portion of this video begins at the 3 min mark.
Thats great nice flagpole. Mine is also this type of flagpole looks great
This was so cute!
Awesome dad. Can you ask him about his motorcycle helmet? I have helmet envy (not to mention his bike).

Nearly a quarter of this entire video is an advert, I get sponsors are super important, but c'mon lol
All they doing is putting in a flag pole to be fair so it would be a long video but igy

Hilarious, you're so much taller than you're dad. Flag pole makes a statement🤗
