As someone who's been on the complete other side of this, at the very peak of my ED I was seeing a guy and I'd go round his on Fridays and leave Monday night and he would get off on the fact I'd not eat the entire time I was there. He'd get more and more excited as each day would go by, and he'd ask me when the last time I ate was and would be really happy if it was the Tuesday or Wednesday. He'd grab at my sticking out bones and get aroused. To me, there isn't much difference between this and being a feeder. Instead of feeding me food, he'd feed me alcohol, but then again Emily is buying Amber drinks too. She needs to get out of it because I understand how it feels to be irrationally in love with someone who is enjoying your suffering, and I am lucky to have come out of it alive. My husband and I lost our first dog when we were in our early 20’s and were so devastated and scared to go through that again we didn’t get another dog until last year. 15 years later. Dude, my cat passed away and I couldn’t find it in my heart to move on and get another cat for over a year. This is hands down proof there was no real love (Edit: no real love from Emily to her late girlfriend) (I only used my cat as a personal example. Anyone who loses an animal and gets another one is an absolute angel. I mean this in no way towards any pet owner just as a reference to Emily.)
Now I will have to argue against that. You can still grieve the lost of your pet and open your heart to take in another animal to give it love. You say someone didn’t “love” their pet bc they got another one less than a year after their passing is not it.
I love ALL my animals but I have so much love to give. Just because YOU waited a year, doesn’t mean that the people are wrong for getting another animal. You’re never replacing the ones who passed, but giving a loving home to an animal in need.

No matter how hard you try or what you do or offer, if that person doesn’t want to or isn’t ready to change, nothing matters. Addiction runs in my family; I speak from experience. At some point, it becomes you hurting more over the issue than the actual addict. If you haven’t experienced it, it’s hard to understand: watching someone destroy themself who doesn’t care that they’re doing so is insanely difficult.
Edit: it’s literally the same thing with AmberLynn. She has all the time, money, and resources, she has support systems and an audience of fans that want to see her improve and take care of herself, but she doesn’t… because to her, what she gets destroying herself is better than what she’d have otherwise.
