    Never seen an oil loading facility and I'm modeling Texas in N-scale, lol. I have built a couple, but not seen the sheds before, so learned something new. That plastic makes good passenger depot platforms, also.

    I'm glad to see even a pro like you has a very slight kink where the flex meets the turnout. I really struggle with that with peco flex. Never had that problem when I was using ME flex. I honestly don't care for peco flex very much but their turnouts are so good. I wish peco was true c55 so it could join up with other brands of C55 track easily.

      @@nscaler454 how about a single track with two bays?

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  Год назад

      @@seanspennywisemiserrr If you watch the build video you will see it's not very adaptable to be used as a single track or even half the size. Id have to do modifications in the design files to make it work. I did put some sections up on Shapeways for a quote, and it'd be well over $200, maybe $300. Yikes.

    Another question: I have trouble soldering without a heavy dollop of nasty lead based solder paste, but I don't see you using any flux at all. Are you just soldering straight with nothing but the iron and solder? What's your secret?

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  Год назад

      I use a flux paste, but only enough to coat the rails. No globs. Also I use a fine tip on the soldering iron. Lastly, make sure there is enough heat in the rail, that heat will pull the solder in.

    • @baronjutter
      @baronjutter Год назад

      @@nscaler454 any particular brand or type of flux you like? I got a non-lead style but it's so thick, more like wood-filler.
