Very good in appearance and realistic....
This is a great idea! I'd be tempted to do the finish work off layout, then attach it. Some reason, it looks out of scale. I think crossing are like 8 lanes wide, LOL. I use to keep a person and car on hand if not actually going my measurements. I get a kick out of some roads I've seen. In real life, a road would be like 20-24 ft wide, two lane, even some are 18'! N scale cars are pretty darn small. ;)
If you look carefully you can see the bridge sag under the weight of those tankers. How cool is that? snap snap!
I have to say BLI should install ESU Loksound decoders. The sound is much better
What lights are these! I need a bunch for my locomotive servicing facility. These ate perfect

Dont add another layer add some fly fisherman and use the specs of dust as the fish feeding or the hatch of flies turn a happenstance problem into a feature.
I'm working on this kit right now and it's a pain in the A**! The instructions leave a lot to be desired but then I've found all of the Walthers kits to be this way.
Had a friend who lite the backdrop buildings with leds, too. Carries the scene into the distance.
LOVE YOUR SHOW , play your vids while im workn on my own layout
So you got some reliability issues with bli, picky with rails on scale trains, and not a ton of detail on Kato. Wonder who will get it all figured out first.
Almost need to build some sort of hybrid between them.
Hello. Size-wise, they seem proportionally accurate to me... So I really don't see what the big deal is. Wonderful layout by the way.
After a lot of trial I landed on neutral grey grout from concrete and 120 grit black sandpaper for asphalt. Give those a try
Cool 😎 thanks for sharing
I would like to know where you got the cantilever with the crossing gates. I have been looking for them as an all in 1. I hope they still make them. I see it's an older video. Thanks
what are you referring to?
@@nscaler454 No wonder your confused. I wrote this on the wrong video....LOL
them tankers look great...baby powder?
Dust lol
@@nscaler454 😀....😑
Cool
I think you still may have a little something on either the track or wheels. Sometimes the wheels don't make good enough contact with the track, or it could be one of those made in china and, well., enough said.
Track looks amazing!
Nice touch to detail with the inside of the tunnel. When the lights start to shine on the interior of the tunnel, it really gives the perception of it being a real rock face. You are Doing a hell of a job on this layout. I wish I had the available space, time and energy to do what you’ve done here. Looking forward to seeing your further progress on your layout.
Thank! The inside rock wall was the first plaster and paint I did on my layout. One thing about N scale is it reduces the space required significantly.
I have 4 of these. I LOVE the sounds. past that the gear noise is terrible and overall the same issues you have. Disappointing purchased from BLI so far. LOVE The channel, keep doing the great work!
great work. Not being negative , inside info. As a truck driver,..the original large area for the warehouse looked great for a turn around area and/or staging for trucks waiting for a open door to back to. Something else, the landing gear on trailers, when down, don't do good on asphalt , they sink right in if loaded if not on truck. Warehouse and docks needs concrete. Yep, part of modeling when shooting from the hip is try this, oops,....then add this, add that,...and at a point its awesome. I would have used a powder also to wipe across . Maybe even powdered grout, quickcrete powder,...or even powdered dirt just to see.
It looks good but I think I’d prefer a two part resin so when dry it sets hard .
One of my favorite parts of a layout, lights. I use the Woodland Scenics lighting system, hubs, street lights, etc... and love it. Never tried another brand and probably never will as I have a very small layout. Have them uninstalled at the time while working on layout. But when installed, sometimes I just turn on the light's ONLY, and it looks awesome! Expensive but worth every penny to me. Your layout and lights look amazing, great job!
If you're going to review BLI locos, you should become better acquainted with how Paragons work. Do both locos have the periodic grinding noise with sound off?
I have a BLI switcher with Paragon 4 and the sound isn't weird like these ones. Only one loco has the surging and grinding
@@nscaler454 Sounds like the grinder should be returned for exchange or refund.
@@nscaler454CV 246 bit 1 can be used to turn off motor loading if you think it's so weird.
Did you buy the stealth version or the one with Para4?
Paragon 4
Lots of beautiful additions and cool details - great work!
I have 2 Broadway Limited locomotives. They will be running along and randomly both will slow down and stop, sit there for a moment at idle, and then throttle up and proceed.
I've noticed that with one of mine as well
I bought 2 HO scale BLI SD40-2 locomotives a couple years ago and I will not purchase anything else from BLI. They ran great for about a year or so and then they started surging. And then the sound effects were okay, but the horns sucked. I sent them back to BLI for the surging issues and they didn't fix them. I asked for replacements and was told they don't do that. So to hell with BLI.
I got mine from the refurb site and love it so far
I have two Union Pacific BLI sd40-2 and they also make the clicking noise. Seem to run fine otherwise.
Wow that looks amazing!
I'm sorry you spent your money on a Broadway limited 🤣
The bli sd 40's seem to be problematic i have on and several people in the club i am inhave them and they tend to get cranky on dirty track and switches without powered frogs . However i have a bli powered a and b f unit and they run incredibly well no studdering or anything sound always works perfectly as well on any type of track
I bought one from the BLI refurb site, and I love it. Fast and strong puller. OTOH, mine didn't make those funny slow speed noises
Hi Nscaler454 , I’m not a fan of BLI locomotives . I have 4 SD40-2s 2 in Southern and 2 in North and Western. I wish that I never seen them. They stop and start up while I’m running them, horn sounds at anytime , and they take off at a high speed then go back to normal speed . I sent one back because just quick running and won’t restart. Got it back still just wasn’t working properly. I’ll never buy another one of there locomotives again. If it’s not an Atlas ,Kato, or Scale Trains it want it get bought by me. Sorry you’re having a problem with them . Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend. 😎😎. 👍
Sadly BLI and Rapido are on my list to never buy again.
My BLIs dont like the slightest spec if dirt or any minuscule discrepancy in the rail. They will shut off. Mine also change rpms alot, they're really sensitive to rolling resistance.
which BLI locos do you have?
Hi Nscaler454 & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Nscaler454 & Friends Randy
It shouldn’t have cut off I wouldn’t think. They are suppose to have a keep alive.
Some times, you just need to get some run time hours on a new locomotive; no matter what manufacture you choose. Do you have a break in track loop? I find the average run time hours vary. The professionals once told me 100 hours. I have yet to need to run a new loco that long. Almost forgot, both directions.
If I had a loco that required 100 hours of run time before it was good I'd send it back haha. That would be about 1100 laps around my layout.
I agree. That’s ridiculous. Unfortunately I paid for both of my BLI’s right before I started reading up all of the problems. I got mislead by a certain N scale channel, who I believe he said got his sent to him from BLI. Of course he said they are “fixed” and great. So now they are on their way to me and I’m concerned.
I just snagged 2 bli diesels. I hope they are good.
hit or miss it seems. I hope yours are good.
@@nscaler454 are you sending your back? What’s interesting is I have an Intermountain train with an ESU Loksound select decoder that does the same thing with the engine sound. I’ve reset it multiple times to no effect.
I have heard and viewed many complaints about Broadway Limited locomotives. I stay away from them because of that. For that price you would think they would paint the handrails also ? Can't go wrong with Kato as for performance and my favorite, 'Scaletrains ' for sure.
Yeah these definitely don't compete with my Scaletrains. I just wish Scaletrains would come out with some CP multi mark or CN SD40-2's of their own.
Sweet trains! Back in the day, my go-to trains were those Life Like F7 CN units and the legendary Tyco Alco Super 630 Golden Eagle! 😎👍
Sound somewhat like when I get a piece of ballast in my gears. My BLI SW7 (Paragon 4) also has really weird RPM response as well.
That certainly an odd sound. It almost sounds like there's a chip in the worn gear. I have 3 BLI SD40-2 and they ran like champs straight out of the box. And they pull like a beast!
I'll need to check it out for sure. I hope I don't have to send it in.
HI. I have to fill a fountain for a nativity scene. Was the fountain made of cork and subsequently grouted with cement and vinyl glue of Giotto. Are there any problems with Woodland Scenics realistic water?
just make sure your vinyl glue is a good sealant as cork and cement are very porous materials.
Very nice, thanks for sharing. Dave
Thanks for the video. As a complete novice, could this work on a dc layout?
effectively my control panel is ran off a DC bus bar, so it should.
@@nscaler454 Thanks, will give it go next week🤩
Congrats on a great finish to a project! Lighting my layout was such fun, this brought bake good memories of a ‘let there be light’ moment! The 24V power supply is an excellent nota bene thank you for mentioning!!
Thanks. Lights really are a fun project
damn… i almost forgot about this side of the layout 😂. looks great with the lights! 👌
