      With winter on our doorstep, I should be able to focus more on the layout, which means more videos.

    Heck yes dude! Glad to hear, and can't wait to see! You are the channel I come to first to get that N-scale fix!

    You only need to use 1X3 and ¼" plywood is more than strong enough. Just use screws to join sections and circle them with a marker. Your home layout need to be set up for going to shows so keep it simple and cheap

    Looking great and continuous run is key i think for enjoyment. It took me 10 years to finally complete my last module and the continuous run goal kept me going on the last module.

    Just cut your other backdrop that much longer and shape to match the cutout. After it’s taped and painted you’ll never see the seam. Nice to see the layout make a significant expansion. What is your plans for the fore space at the front of the layout?

    I notice the ceiling doesn’t have any panels on it, just joists. Please consider putting in a false ceiling…I left mine open like yours and I have tons of dust on my layout. I constantly have to clean it. Sadly, my basement is not full height so a drop ceiling or panel ceiling is not possible. If you can put one in, though, I’d highly recommend it.

      Good tip. Mine does get dusty, but it's not horrendous. I think I need to do more regular cleaning around the layout though to prevent dust.

    You need to print out a picture of Roan/Monster X landing on a blue card to fill in your backdrop cut away!😂

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  11 месяцев назад

      I don't know what Roan/Monster X is, but that does give the idea to use a printing some blue sky on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.

    Looks great. Do you plan to continue the refinery industrial scene?

      I suspect some extra details here and there, but for the most part it is done.

    Do you build easements into your curves? When I started considering them, I realized that, in N scale, they are really tiny fractions of inches. I figured that they were beyond my capabilities of precision, so I didn't bother even trying.

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  10 месяцев назад

      I do build easements into my mainlines. I put them under the track. I have a video on it. Update 8 I believe.

    Nice work, did you consider a lift or bridge section in front of the electrical panel for access to it?

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  11 месяцев назад

      I did consider it, but it didn't work with my plans.

    That electrical panel should have more room in front of it for the electrician to access it.

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  11 месяцев назад +1

      Probably. I have worked around panels with a lot less access than mine haha. Being a modular layout, I can unbolt half of it and pull it out if needed.

    Kids.... please do NOT drive in a long screw from one side, and put your hand on the other. Not the safest idea, but it will make for a funny commercial for Acme Products!! Use a clamp instead, please.

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  10 месяцев назад

      Good tip. Fortunately I already checked the depth of the screw into the wood. I'd never do that with a nail gun though. Be safe folks!
