Excellent tutorial. I noticed while setting Zebra level (as prescribed here), it is also necessary to actually turn Zebra on, as it appears to be off by default. This might be worth mentioning as I wondered why nothing was happening. Novice here though, so what do I know? Thanks for this insanely useful video! One thing I noticed with mine is I can't set the aperture with the lens aperture ring or the front dial? It seems to be exclusively a setting accessible on the touch screen = is it because I am in a specific touch screen mode? Would be nice to use the dials! Seems to work fine if I am in the photo modes, its just video

Is there any way to set the camera up to allow recording a movie without rotating the drive dial to Movie mode? The reason is that it really slows me down switching back and forth between S and Movie mode - sometimes several times per minute (travelling, kids, etc.). On my Panasonic M4/3 camera I just hit the record button at any time. I can switch back and forth instantly and one-handed. Thanks.

You should be able to transfer all files to your PC. Windows might not understand what a raw files is and sometime it doesnt have the codec to run 4k video.

When I was watching your video the exposure lock and focus lock worked but when I went outside to try and get some clips and pics It wasn’t working I would press it and wouldn’t lock any it’d just work while I leave my finger holding them

When panning at 1920x1080@30fps, it doesn't seem like 30fps smoothness on my xt30. Is it supposed to be like this or is there something i could do? I'm setting the shutter speed at double frame rate by the way. 60fps looks smooth obviously.
are you panning manually with your hands or using a electric motor? If you are doing it manually, i would suggest trying to pan using slow motion at 120fps. It is doing it using a electric motor id double check the motor and maybe do a reset on the camera just to check.
I just received my camera and I don't have camera attachments yet, I was wanting to play around before my attachments came and I can't get a clear picture, do I need the attachments for it to get pictures?
Jenny, im not sure attachment you are talking about but you should be able to get a focused picture without a attachment. Do you have the camera set to manual focus?

This is a very small camera so it does get hot very quickly. If you want to use it for ads and commercials, i would definitely recommend you do a few test runs before doing a actual job with it. I external video recorder may help with the overheating issues
Ive got a real problem. I have a x-t30. My problem is in manual video mode, I can't control anything. I can't change the aperture, exposure compensation, or shutter speed. I can't change iso unless i go into the Q menu. I have the aperture ring on the lens set on manual. When on picture modes, all the command dials and aperture ring works fine but when I switch to manual video mode, nothing happens when I try to change any of the settings. I'm guessing it's something so simple nobody is covering it in their videos. Anybody's help will be much appreciated!!
I just tested my X-T30 today, but I couldn't trigger Face Detection and Face Select during recording. The function only works if I trigger it in standby mode and then press record, which defeats the tracking purpose.
Yes, I agree, once you start recording you can not turn Face Detect on and off. If that is something you need. Then I would turn off face detect and so with single AF. Half pressing the trigger button will trigger single focus.
I don’t know why tech people cannot SLOW THE FUCK DOWN when explaining this shit! I wish id never gotten rid of my Sony A6000, thus fuji is a shit box compared to my Sony

There is no way with xt30, you can get a hdmi external recorder if you want to extend the recording time.

hmm, try resetting your camera to factory default. if that does not work, then it might be the lens

Felix you can only adjust volume in the video menu and as far as i can tell, you can not adjust them on the back screen.

Awesome vid! With the X-T30, can you record DCI 4k video internally or do you need an external recorder through the HDMI?

Sorry Jason, I do not use the video files with my phone. Did you try transfer to a PC and seeing if you get audio?

i could be your sd card, i would try a new sd card, a v90 if you are recording in high bit rate
It is the card. It happend to me. Use a new card with higher write speeds. I also noticed a difference with genuine fuji batteries vs 3rd party.

in the Menu, go to the Wrench > BUTTON/DIAL SETTING > on the second screen you can turn it to on/off instead of momentary.

The only I can think of is a lavalier mic. When im using it in the studio, i use a lav but for vlogging, i use the built in mic

The xt30 is definitely better on focus. Its debatable when it comes to video. I would say the xt30 is probably slightly better in video quality.

I would say first try a different mic, if you do not have another one, then try resetting you camera and see if there is any change.

xt30 has short time limits, that is my design, you will need a external recorder if you want longer record times

4k is 10 minutes, 1080 is 15 minutes. If you use a external hdmi video recorder, its unlimited
