Thanks for the info. I got my RP3+ last week and I really love it, is easy to set up, the purple one that I got looks amazing and the performance is just great. This is one of the best handheld ever.
Update in case someone's interested: I installed yesterday, on RP3 3GB (so not the plus). I experienced worse performance across the board, my guess mostly due to messed up GL settings, as t310 works mostly best on gl. Maybe this update focused on Vulkan? I downgraded back after a couple hours testing, had to reset global adjustments but game specific overrides were all in place. In general I followed tech dweeb's cheat sheet and everything runs fine in 2x tbh. I don't think the app needs further updates for RP3 (again the non plus 3G) except if they confirm GL fixes for the very few known specifics like killzone and juiced 2, rest of games run perfect. I would however be extremely thankful if the app could remind GL or vulkan game specific automatic selection on boot. Great emulator, and great videos @Mjolnir!!
Wonderful! I was getting a stutter every time I went from screen to screen on Star Ocean. It now runs flawlessly! Glad I didn't start a new game.. I will now!
@@MjolnirStone preach. i think optimising game settings is more satisfying that actually playing the games. maybe a few years of being cucked by hardware-limited *almost* capable handhelds has instilled a real efficiency obsession.
Could you provide more details on recommended settings for PSP now that this update changed the menu? It doesn’t seem like your previous guide helps now
Agreed! I never even had these issues with The Force Unleashed on the RP3+ (which was the first game I tried, after the RP3 and RP2+ stuttered so much). I don’t know if I changed a golden setting but I have never seen scan lines!!
What other settings did you change from your default setup for MotorStorm? There are black boxes under all the vehicles on mine, even using Skip GPU Readbacks. I also cannot get the performance you are getting in Killzone. Could you please show your settings for that as well? ( I hit max 40 fps at 3x)
Figured it out. You need to install the performance fix, bloom and vehicle shadow cheats. If you RUclips it there is a decent video somewhere to show you how.

No, most likely just rendering pipeline shortcuts in the emulation. Sometimes developers use some part of the hardware that almost no one else did, or use it in a different way. So the emulation code may work properly for 95% of games but because it is never 100% accurate to the original hardware, it can cause crazy graphical issues in those specific games. With time the software developers work out what was going on and include changes to render those games correctly.

Adreno and Mali are more common know on android devices. So PPSSPP developer probably didn't test it enough on chipset with Powervr gpu

Thanks for the settings on Motorstorm! I couldn't get that working properly, and totally missed the Skip GPU readbacks setting.

Yup! It was already perfect for 99% of games but this seems to have fixed the last few.

It's not on the Play Store yet as it's on a reduced distribution so they can catch any bugs according to the Discord.

yeah tex filtering auto max quality still does 1000x better job than linear, and you can use 4x in almost all games

I tried 1.14 and 1.16 on RP3+ it runs ok at 2x but 3x produces way more stutter comparted to the footage in this video. Not sure why...
