12 Marvel Villains Who Were Actually Right

  • Yeah, heroes are great and all, but what about villains? Superhero movies are sometimes only great because the good guy has an extremely compelling bad guy to fight against. And most of the time, these bad guys have “destroy the whole world and rule over the ashes” type of energy to them, but I always like it when a bad guy has understandable motivations. When the movie can make me sympathetic toward its villain while also wondering if they were actually right, then I know I’m in for a good time.
So what are some of the biggest villains around who were actually right? Well, the most recent example has to be Gorr right? Gorr wanted to get rid of all the gods because they were lazy and selfish, and then the movie expertly laid out why all the gods seem to be lazy and selfish. He wasn’t wrong! Or what about Thanos? I think Thanos made such a great villain because he made a lot of sense at the beginning when it came to worrying about the depletion of resources. What other villains do you think were actually right? Killmonger? Baron Zemo? Ultron? I’ll be discussing all of them today!
So join me as I break down all the Marvel bad guys who were actually right. Again, I’m not saying I agree with their methods, but I think their ideas and philosophies were quite accurate. Take a look at today’s video and see if you agree with me. After you’re done, be sure to hit that big like and subscribe button for more awesome Marvel content like this. And leave a comment while you’re at it! Thanks for watching CBR! Let’s get started.

They were right but as Toph told Korra, “The problem was those guys were totally out of balance, and they took their ideologies too far.”
Referring to Amon wanting Equality through persecution, Unalaq wanting Reconnection with the spirits through destruction, Zaheer wanting Freedom through chaos and Kuvira wanting Peace through submission.

Yes this is what I lot of Gillian’s do wrong they have good ideals but then they just go over the top with it
Ex: Being able to control everyone so that they don’t destroy the earth
It’s a good ideal but it’s above everyone’s free will

The MCU villains which I empathized the most where with Thanos and Gorr, but I will go specially with Gorr, since his main impulse or purpose was guided by his revengeful thoughts, and as a motivation, is flexible and vast in terms of meaning. Love and Thunder did a great job of playing with the idea of revenge from the angles of not only one person versus another, but also a person against themself, and a person against the universe. This is what Gorr was about, very much a person versus himself struggle. He wanted revenge on all the gods for what they’ve done not only to him but to all of their believers and worshipers. However his motivation was mainly guided by the Necrosword who seeks to make the emotions within Gorr turn more devastating. It wanted to drive him mad with his own desire for violence and revenge. Since the ultimate goal of the Necrosword is to see its wielder’s demise.

Sympathising with any MCU villain shows that you don’t believe in the concept of responsibility, no god came to Gorr and told him that he will have a beautiful fruitful life, it was on him, he was incapable of taking care of his daughter and like any other coward he ran away from taking the responsibility, he was angry on Thor because of him being a god but are we forgetting that same god fought for millennia in support of 9 realms and eventually lost everything and everyone in his life.
If you want to see good revenge arcs in MCU then Thor in Infinity war was best because he lost due to some other villain and then went on to thrash that villain with pure vengeance in heart.

Apparently, MCU's infinity stones are not omnipotent. It seems that the stones can't create something out of nothing, nor produce energy out of nothing (or else we would not see all the universes ending in a black hole as seen in "LOKI" ). But I agree, with the power of the stones, there must be a way to do something like bringing ultra efficient technologies to clean wastes, recycle stuff etc.

Al of the villains motives have great intentions, but the problem is they are radical to the extreme. My favorite motive is Dr Doom. He wanted to bring world peace by any means necessary. Villain’s motives makes the protagonist think about the decisions they make in my personal opinion.

Professor X happens to be wrong in one way - lack of direct action. Sure, he gets a superhero team together, but does he actively get any of them to do things like speak to politicians and/or campaign for their (and other mutants) human rights? Does he actively try to make a point to world current governments about that?
To my knowledge, Magneto actually has more of this done by killing Nazis and getting Mystic to take over a politician's life to hopefully actually bother to improve things. I'm not saying murder is right, but I definitely see Magneto as the superior choice on actually bothering to Mutant rights throughout the X-Men series.

Captain America not telling Tony Bucky was the one who killed his parents. That is kind of what lit the spark for Civil War. Though losing his family is understandable motivation for going off the rails Hawkeye did become an assassin and kill people. Yelena didn't think to do her own research and just stupidly believed what she was told about Hawkeye killing Natasha. Thor, even after learning what his father did to Loki continued to follow and believe in his father. Valkyrie deciding the best way to handle her problems was to become an alcoholic. Thor deciding the best way to handle his was to become a fat slob couch potato, and Nebula thinking for a long time the best way to handle her problems was to kill her sister. Just to name a few. Tony has too many wrong moments to count.

I was so underwhelmed with Ultron, not saying AoU is a terrible movie... However What if...? Ultimatley redeemed how boss sauce he can be with the inclusion of "Infinity Ultron". Arguably the strongest villian of the MCU so far. I mean he swamped a super saiyan Uuatu The Watcher after beating every other hero/villian in his reality and breaking through the multiverse.
...I really hope like Captain Carter, we get to see Infinity Ultron return to the MCU in live action in the future.

You MADE the problem, when no one asked you to & all because you think you know what’s best for everyone on earth, it backfired spectacularly, people died, life’s were shattered, dude was about to use an entire nation as a meteor to wipe us out & you fixed it. • @aflower5768
      @aflower5768 2 года назад

He was right... The only thing that seems "wrong" is his method. Let me explain further. Firstly, there was a problem with overpopulation, and that meant that resources would be less, that's to be known through the movie (IW). His planet went through the same problem and most went extinct. After that, he ended up going on a journey to prevent other planets from facing the same problem. Secondly, if you watched Eternals, you'll know that if the population passes a certain amount of number, a celestial egg will start hatching and the Earth would be doomed (there's a theory as well that Titan might have had a celestial destroy it, but I'm not too sure about that). So, long story short, he saved the Earth some time and saved the universe.
Now, before you start arguing, I just want to point this out that, of course killing (more like snapping life away) doesn't seem right but hey, he basically cut us some slack, saved us from a celestial egg etc. Now, I do disagree with the "doubling the resources" solution. Nah, that's not how it works lol. Greed will increase, and that'll lead to more wars. In the end, nothing will ever help since there are always dumbfk people out there.

Wow. The one villain that's not part of the MCU is the greatest of them all. Everyone saying that Kilmonger is a compelling villain clearly doesn't know who Magneto is. Kilmonger only cares about people who are like him on the outside whereas Magneto cares about people who are like him on the inside. #fukthemcu
