The best part is if some horrible alien plucks the pilot out of the rover and eats him… he’ll be minty fresh! These are my favorite kinds of your builds. (Though I do say that about ALL your builds.)
When you find yourself struggling with a build you know you are in the right place. It means you are venturing into unknown techniques and problem solving. In other words, learning and pushing yourself. Every few projects should be a headache, or we stagnate.
Thanks Graeme! There are so many great builders out there so I'm so happy when people like yourself get a kick out of what I make. So happy to be part of this amazing community!
Super fun build! It's nice that you showed the 4-wheel version. That's the great thing about dioramas; it doesn't matter what you glue things to! Thanks for another great video!
I really love your ideas of organically creating stuff from found containers and bits from broken toys. This inspires me to try making something from bigger containers such as a laundry detergent bottle for a 1/6 figure vehicle. Caps for wheels who knew. Great Build…!!!
The fact that the tic tac logo fits so perfectly is just awesome and adorable!!! I can so imagine in-world the vehicle having become known as “the tic tac” and over time adopting it, like Jeep!
Tic Tac is sponsoring space travel. LOL. I like how it converts from four to six wheels and back so quick and easy, very cool. It is a great little space rover. Super fun, super cool. 😎👍👍👍
I have this same tic tac box… I bought it because I’ve been watching loads of scratch build vids and want to try it… now if I do it I’ll have to directly compare it to this beauty!
Wow! It looks like a Thunderbirds mechanic and is really cool 👍 The weathering paint and the caterpillar on the tires are great. I'll try making one too. Thank you for always making such cool and fun videos. 🙏
The model looks great Dave! I know what it is like to have a model challenge you but you did a fantastic job on it. I have to say I like the 6 wheels but even with 4 wheels it is neat looking. The base with the metallic surface was very unique and something I never thought of. Thanks for sharing this.
Fair enough. 😃 I try to do a build every other week so many times I’m lucky enough to get just the build done. My day job sucks up too much of my fun building time…😂😂😂 JK, I actually have an awesome day job.😅
Eventually we're going to find out that the designer of the big Tic-tac bottle is a die had Moebius and Spanish sci-fi comic fan. and THAT's why that one container is so easy to love. Also, great model - even if the Tic Tac logo left plain on the back gave me a giggle. One thing you might not have noticed about your build - your dude is either a miner or security working for a mine. That diorama base you built looks for all the world like black sand and hematite. In other words, the landscape is so rich in high quality iron ore that you can make steel be cussing for long enough. Wherever this turns out to be, someone is working hard and making someone else rich.
I love how you make such mundane parts look so good! It is truly transforming something from nothing. I am curious if you ever tried removing lable residue with duct tape.
i love it, i used to do stuff like that at work, then people started throwing it out and demanding i do better. little did they know, it was an earth day art piece, that they threw out. i hate the people i work with, for not realizing how lazy it is, to junk a found art piece and call it trash.
Yes, yes and more yes, absolutely love this one, trash bashing at it's finest 👍 My only issue is you can see the Tic Tac name on the back, maybe cover that over with a hatch, after all how does the astronaut get in and out? Keep up the good work :-D
Love it. I'm starting to get into building some mini dioramas and would love more ideas for DIY terrains/bases. You used light weight spackle? GENIUS! What else can I do to build bases without breaking the bank. (I also got that bag of sand from Hobby Lobby for $.69! Ever think about just make a mini series of vids on making DIY bases? I'd love to see your process and creativity. Keep up the great work Doc!
Thanks. I haven’t thought about that, many of my builds have bases but not all because sometimes I just run out of time.😅 A good tho to look at to get some inspiration is Warhammer miniature builders, they do some amazing base work!
@DRToysCreations oh I get the "no time" thing. Full Time Art Teacher and Full Time Dad here. "Nerd time" comes at a premium. In another life I'd have the time to do my own series of DIY base builds. For now, I'll keep tuning into your channel. Cheers from Buffalo!
@@Gripfastvids Same here, I'm a full time graphic designer for Otterbox, and a dad but my daughter is 20 and in college! LOL I always say my day job is getting in the way of my fun!
It came out great! I could definitely see that as a moon rover on space 1999 or ufo both 70’s sci-fi shows, if you didn’t know them. How long did it take to make?
To be honest I think it was a mini Fort Night figure I found at Walmart about a year or so ago… I have looked for them again but haven’t had any luck in stores.
I think it’s a mini For Night figure. I got it at Walmart probably over a year ago. I have looked for them again but haven’t seen them in stores. Maybe on eBay…
Oh the transforrmer was trash to begin with. Looks like the old universe Galvatron which was horrible then and still horrible to this day, finally serving a purpose
The dude ruined it by adding the sand. The original red theme worked better than the black. How he thought that bagged sand had any red tones is beyond me, it was clearly brown/black.
Yup you’re 💯 correct. It even said brown on the bag… just part of the journey, you gotta try some stuff, not everyone will like it and that’s ok. On to the next build!😃
i like that he left the " Tic Tac " on the back, it adds alot to the build, Awesome build.
I’m glad you noticed. I was going to cover it but I also thought it was kinda funny in a simple way.😅
I was going to say exactly the same! It's also quite topical 🙂

Oh yea baby.
You have outdone yourself this time.
The lines on the hubcaps give it a Syd Mead feel.
Very nice.
Thanks.

This turned out awesome! Even though it was stressful, I'm glad you saw it through till the end
Thanks. I appreciate that!
Yup, there are always those builds that fight you the whole way. The end result looks like it was worth it, though - awesome job!
Thanks!
Great looking space rover and diorama . I like how the wheels look like they're articulated as the vehicle is driving over rocky ground 👍
Thank you very much!

Thanks!🙏
What I love the most is you left the tic tac logo in the back visible ! Like you didn’t fill it in with putty, you left it alone. Bravo !
Yes! Thank you! I thought it was kinda funny so I left it! Glad you noticed.😅
Kinda dystopian. Future space travel sponsored by different brands sounds real. 🤣
