I also had to return mine and when, half a year later, several people are still talking about focus problems and that the specifications have largely not been upgraded from the action 2,
then I happily wait until hopefully an action 4 comes out so that I can get a reliable camera that I can use for a few years into the future
- i have been happy with my drones and have made many videos with my Pocket 2 - so action 3 has disappointed me I must say
I have the dji action 3 and can hands down say the device is incredibly responsive and easy to use, making it a breeze to navigate and control the camera. It’s incredibly durable and capable of handling any adventure you throw at it.
Got the camera a couple of months ago and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with its features! From the smooth and stabilized footage to the easy-to-use touch screen, this action cam has exceeded my expectations.
This camera is worth every penny and is an excellent investment for anyone who loves action sports and wants to capture all the action.

I just bought the Action 3 about a month ago when most reviews said the update fixed the focus issue and it's like an all-new camera. True enough, I got no problem on mine. Decent image quality, premium stabilization and reliable battery life which are all I actually need
I'm curious, is there a non-subjective test to determine if this camera is out of focus? TV sets used to have alignment grids and reference images for setting color, contrast, etc. when they were calibrated in the shop. My eyesight isn't as good as it was years ago and the images in your video seemed fine. If my action 3 is indeed out of focus, I would like to get it fixed. I just can't tell.
As an avid adventurer and action sports enthusiast, I can confidently say that this is the best action camera I've ever used. I’m surprised to see how much technology is in this small camera and the price is also great!
i have same manufacture date, but i think theres no issue on it, i just found its too sharp or maybe just me, thanks for d video
Yeah I think some are fine, and then with the firmware update it's over sharpened the good units. 👍
Jake Sloan just completed an updated review(s) his suggestion was to only buy units dated Jan 23 or later. Looked good in his reviews.

I believe the batches from November 2022 have no focus issues, your footage looks good, I was really thinking of buying this camera, well I will wait until OA4 comes out hopefully all the issues will be sorted.
Nah, there is definitely something wrong, look at the face. its all soft.
Watch 4k on a monitor and you will see. Its 100% out of focus.
The focus issue is the problem of production but it can happen. My biggest disappointment the communication and reaction of DJI.
The action 3 has quickly become my go-to action camera for all my action footage. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable budget-friendly and high-quality action camera.
All I can say is If you're looking for an action camera that can handle anything, then the dji action3 does it all.
Iv been adding 1% blur in post the anti aliasing in the shots is terrible its Adds a white outline around everything so footage shimmers. Autoneclosure is also terrible.

You really should have included that same face shot with out-of-focus and in-focus units.
I have seen a lot of videos on this product some says it’s been fixed and some says it hasn’t. That tells me that I might have to wait for OA4. I need one by May of which direct me to buy the Gopro 11. I just can’t gamble or take my chance on this OA3.
I was in same situation! I thought that after 5 months Dji would have resolved all issues and not be sending out faulty units. But as you saw in the video, even though I ordered directly from Dji, they still sent me out a bad unit. Very disappointing as they are fully aware of the focus issue and still ship the faulty units. You would think that they wouldn't let anything leave any supplier without being double checked first.
Does the selfie stick that came with the Action 3 not include the detachable remote control that is part of the selfie stick/tripod accessory for the Action 2? Do you or does anybody in the comments have any experience with trying to use the remote from your vehicle to turn a camera mounted on your front bumper without a clear line of sight, and does it work or not? The remote is Bluetooth, so it should work from that distance without a line of sight. With regard to the focus issues, if I buy one it will be from an online retailer like B&H so if I get a bad one I'll just send it back for a replacement unit or a refund. If it doesn't work out of the box I don't want to go to the hassle and delay of having the manufacturer trying to figure out what's wrong and fix it.
Does the cage serve any purpose other than to allow for vertical filming?
any suggestions or help Please.... I can't get my OA3 to connect to my MacBook have tried every combination camera off plug in camera on ...nothing etc etc Its an amazing camera in every respect but the connection issue is weeing me off lol
hea dude,,,I bought a go pro 10 that worked GREAT! until it overheated and basically stopped working,,,,it will only record for 8 minutes,,,,then stops.....and it worked great for about 6 months ,,,,,no warranty left,,,, and left for a high priced camera that they HAD TO KNOW would stop working because of the overheating,,,,,,talk about getting PO'd with no where to go....

Your OA3 doesn't have bad focus, you need good light and when you saw it on the street with cars it had good focus.
Overcast will give higher ISO so more noise reduction (blur)
I'm a professional photographer. It was out of focus I can assure you.

Still thinking which to buy action 3 or hero 11 😅
If image quality is of paramount, hero 11. If you do lots action shots in challenging situaitons, dji action 3, I hear it's simply more reliable and has amazing battery life with fast charging capabilty. When you are out doing somewhat extreme sports, you don't want to miss recording or need to worry your camera froze or died mid way, a little compromise in image quality is better than missed it completely.

I can get DJI action 3 second hand for very good price but I am afraid because it is from 10/2022. What do you think guys is the camera from these date with focus issues?

@Ivan Ivanov - most probably it will have the focus issue. My first was from 11/22 and had it, the replacement is from 10/22 and is out of focus too, so it's going to be replaced again. Hopefully the 3rd one will be finally good. I'm too tied to this model after spending a lot of money on accessories for it to just return it for good.
What was your manufacturing date??

Hello Mate.. i feel like its better to buy iPhone 14 pro .. The footage in Dji action is blurry even i put in 4K resolution in setting RUclips. . Have a nive weekend,
Yeah sure if you want to pay almost 4x the price and bolt it in front of your vehicle and go off-roading. These action cameras have a purpose. If you want a good camera and money isn't an object you wouldn't use iPhone 14 pro for shooting your footage either.
