Lucky Has To Go To Detox
HTML-код

- I met Lucky a few weeks ago completely by chance. And since then, I have been working with him. Filming with him and giving him an opportunity to share his story. Lucky is a guy who served 10 years in prison. He was released 2 years ago and quickly became homeless and an addict. Since working with him, he has mentioned multiple times how he wants to get clean and go into a detox program. And today I really push him to realize that if he says he wants to do this, he needs to do this now. The opportunity is right here and all he has to do is take it. There is no way to know how all of this will playout. But I truly hope the best for Lucky and only have his best intentions in mind. This is probably one of the most powerful videos I've ever had the opportunity to share with you. And I hope you enjoy it. More info below.

This is a pretty long video. But certainly worth watching the whole thing. By the end it's pretty deep. I want to thank Tom for helping me lately. And the entire APS ARMY for continuing to rock with APS. There is no way to know where things go from here. All I can say is I'm hopeful that Lucky will be able to find the strength he needs to get clean. Ya'll leave some good words for Lucky please. Also, I'm asking that you consider becoming a channel member for AfterPrisonShow. We need the support. GOD Bless You Joe...🙏❤️...willing to help Lucky ..I am praying for Lucky recovery...say no to the Dope = hatE... say YES TO LOVE....
Let's do this. APS Army has your back! 😊 hooo-raaaa!!
You said he needs 5 sets of clothes…does that mean he’s only doing a 5 day detox then leaving? He needs to go to sober living for at least 30 days. If this is only a 5 day venture, he’s gonna relapse when he comes out. He needs a place that’s gonna get him clean then teach him how to stay clean.
Joe, this is what you are meant to do. You were meant to pick back up that camera and meet Lucky that day. APS fan from the start and will never stop being a fan. You have heart, Joe. Much love!
We need a Ramen Soup Remix! A little summer sausage and some PICKLE JUICE son!
Yup by now joe already knows the ropes when it comes down to helping a person (addict) joe has a big heart
You guys are idiots.joe is using this guy for views.ratting him out constantly and trying to force him to detox.its all bullshit . he's pulling straws at this point
I agree. He lost his hunger for this content after the whole Danny thing..he did continue with it somewhat while adding work to it but the passion he carried for this type of content slide away for a few. He's back amd I'm sure he's tougher than ever with seeing red flags. I'm excited to see new videos.
You GOT THIS JOE!!!
This is your ELEMENT!!!
For ending stigma on drug addiction ❤
I am on the mat program and for the longest time the pharmacy workers would talk down about me and they was so happy to pass a old lady a 100 oxs no problem but don't look down on me when I had to do what I had to do to get closer and clean I believe as I won't be on the suboxon forever but whatever works for you its all worth it. 😊
@Dustinshelpchannel hi, sounds like you're making progress. I trained to be a drug and alcohol counselor, but the work didn't pan out. However, I know what it means to be a mentor and counselor to people who often need their stories heard and genuine support through hardship. It's no different than mental health issues, homelessness, and social status. Best of luck to you and others who can benefit from programs and centers focused on drug addiction and mental health. Finding people who really care can make a big difference. 🎗
lame
Physically he's ready to quit, mentally he scared of the process. I wish him all the best!
I'm crying with happiness for Lucky!!!
Joe, as I've already told you but again, this is your element. Helping people!!!
Thank you Tammy. You’re right this is what we need to be doing.
He won't last a day
@@AfterPrisonShow Do you like poodles? Joe?
Same. OG APS Army.
Im on saboxone & have been clean for 5yrs now! I just bought a house on the lake, a new truck & THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I GOT BACK IN MY LIFE, IS MY BEAUTIFUL SON!!!! I love that kid more than life & to live in this house with him makes it a real home for me!!! I pray that Lucky can find this same kind of happiness!
You just switched addictions . But glad you are able to be successful and functional on the new drug of choice .
@BLWTV I don't think saying switched addictions is right. I wouldn't say someone with high blood pressure is addicted to blood pressure meds would you? It's a chronic illness and should be treated as such. Saying those things keeps people from doing it, keeps people on the streets, and isn't a healthy mindset. Of course it would be better without anything but that isn't always an option for some. Suboxone is a blessing and let's people live their life again.
If it's working for you more power to you be proud of how far you have come.
Are your teeth ok? Keep seeing reports of teeth falling out and dental complications.😮
People say it's switching addictions and yeah it is but if it's taking the needle out of someone's arm than I think it's a very good thing.
A wise man once said, "for something new to come, something old must go"...even if its friends, family, etc...take care of YOU first! You got this, Lucky!!🍀💪
This is all because of you, Joe. Joe, you're good people, keep up the good fight. APS
Bro, lucky if you get clean man, you’ll be such a big inspiration to me and to so many others
Forget the painting. This is what you are meant for. This is your purpose.
Lucky you got this bro, I’ll keep you in my prayers
I'm glad to see the APS content back in full force. Keep them coming Joe.
Lucky i Used Heroin for 13 Years and Got Clean On My Own...You Got This Bro 💯 I and The APS Army have Your Back 1,000%. ML&R From Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
I'm crying. Best episode ever posted
I feel the same way. Things happen for a reason. Lucky and I met for a reason. He told me the day that we met he felt like something good was going to happen that day. Very wild he felt that considering where this led.
@@AfterPrisonShowyou are special Joe. You see the good in people despite the ugliness you have seen in the world. I hope you never lose that, loving this type of content. Keep it up!
@AfterPrisonShow yeah the way yall met how honest and articulate he was. How he slowly started coming together to the little drama with the little hesitation he showed but over all he was a man of his word and did what he said he would do! I'm so proud of Lukcy and I'm so proud and happy to have been following along all these years since like 2017 something like that. When Dave was a regular and you didn't have a license just yet. Keep following your heart and being open Joe. World needs more kind people like you sir. Let's send up prayers for lucky and his continued success as he battles this demon! God bless y'all! Thank you for showcasing this and please try to make sure Curk is eating and not miserable please if you can.
Takes a real man to face his fears, and walk thru the front doors. Best of luck to you Brother....1 day at a time.
YOU GOT THIS!!!
This is what APS was ment to be doing! I got my fingers crossed for Lucky. This is the definition of Devine intervention.
Praying for Lucky and his recovery.
Props to the folks that donated to lucky. JOE this is what you were meant to do. LUCKY I'm praying for you brother. I just did.
Synthetic opioids prescribed to you from a physician that keep you from being sick and harming yourself is no different than a diabetes medication or a blood pressure medication that you take every single day to keep you healthy from getting sick or hurting yourself you can take those medicines your whole life
Suboxone saved my life 💯
@@mjriemenme too. I see people in these comments saying " you just switched addictions", maybe for some, but it saved me and many people i know personally.
@@angiechristensen638 The reason people say it is cause it is a lightweight opiate and people get complacent with it instead of actually getting clean. Whether or not something's prescribed doesn't matter. A lot of the people that got hooked on heroin got there because some quack decided it'd be a good idea to just hand over a 100 tablet bottle of oxycodone. I mean some people are saying "I been on suboxone, 5, 10 years!" - Like how's that not being complacent? If that's what you gotta do to not get on heroin again sure but that says more that they're not putting in the time to really getting clean if its taking that long.
When Tom spoke to Lucky I got a lump in my throat, and then Joe followed up I couldn’t hold back the tears. I felt this one in every fiber of my being. Joe, you have touched so many people and you have no idea. Proud of you Lucky! Remember 1 day at a Time. Hours make days, days to weeks, and weeks to years, and you’ll be able to help others like Joe did you. ✌️Peace! ✌️
Hey everybody this is lucky I just wanted to thank everybody that has been supporting me you are all amazing people and God bless you all
❤❤❤
Im 28 and a pos because i have stolen from the only person i gave as family because of my alcohol addiction and its the worst feeling and i need to stop making excuses and get to rehab just never been this lucky to meet a amazing man who changed his life thanks joe and good luck to lucky!
Ah man, I don't know you but I'm sure you're not a POS. We all do things we regret, and I'm sure that one day you will be able to mend the damage that's been done and regain trust from your friends and family. Much love.
Man cut your self a break. I’m 37 and have been a opioid addict since 16. I’ve been clean since 2017 and I’ve earned all the trust back from my family and loved ones. You can do it to my man. I went to a 30 day rehab and left 6 days in and did it myself. Its time when your ready not when a rehab tells you. Good Luck on your journey my Friend. You got this
I like that Lucky dont try to blame anyone but hisself for relapsing. Everyone is responsible for their self. I have faith Lucky will survive .❤❤
Let's Prey 🙏
Joe you are straight up good people!
I've been on methadone for 5 years and it saved my life Playboy 💯💯💯
Welp, I've been crying for 20 minutes now. Joe, thank you for sharing this. Lucky, when you get out and read these comments, we're proud of you too ❤
Joe dont know if you realize but what you just accomplished with your videos on Lucky so far is amazing because of your efforts another man has another chance at a better life even if you never get rich making vids but you can pay your bills and raise a family doing this your more than winning. God Bless, keep up the good works
Wow! Caught this after 1 minute posting😃
thank you for the early support.
@@AfterPrisonShow I hope Lucky is truly doing this because he wants to. I don’t want to hear…he left detox 😔
First time iv seen him and im 5 minutes in but he seems very smart. I hope he can get the willpower also 🙏

LUCKY - YOU DA MAN, NO LUCK NEEDED, GET IT!
Wow I am in tears. It takes so much strength to be able to make such a huge lifestyle change like this. Lucky, you've got this man, I am rooting for you!
Prayers to Lucky for a successful completion of the detox program. Helping others is what APS is all about. Much love to you, Joe for helping other people in need.
Good job Joe! Rooting for you Lucky.
I've been there Lucky! Make sure to pray, and stay positive. You got this man!
So hopeful for Lucky that he makes it through the detox and stays clean on the other side. Joe stick with this, not just APS but also helping people, it is what you were meant to do. Also, it’ll be far less headaches than the painting business lol.
very welcome Lucky, good luck moving forward man you got this 💪
Nice to see ppl helping out a fellow homeless guy im homeless myself
Lucky is left handed. That explains the intelligence! Left handed people are super smart.
Very true my daughter is a lefty and very intelligent
@@Transitlady59 I'm left handed as well!
lol
Their often criminals too. I never seen so many lefthanded people as I saw at my first court appointed rehab.
He’s so intelligent that he’s a junkie and is homeless and got no money or job . Yeah he’s so intelligent 🤣🤣
Lucky, if you see this please know you have so many of us cheering you on! I hope you don't feel any sort of way about how this journey has begun and your honesty is your best quality IMO.
P.s your drawing is beautiful!!!! You are so talented and your work would look great on some APS merch, dont cha think?? Hehe
I just got a notification and clicked immediately! I had a read through the description as the title scared me a little.. So, I can relate to Lucky's struggle with opiate addiction and wanting/needing detox. You have a great heart Joe, but pls remember what he said and what many addicted ppl have stated regarding being ready. Your positive talks and advice will indeed help him through this struggle and we all need to remind ourselves that when Lucky is ready, he will know. If he's not ready, I feel he's honest enough to admit and not get everyone's hopes up believing he is ready for detox.
Definitely need to watch this entire video. This is a very crazy ride.
@@AfterPrisonShow Yep, I'm still watching Joe! With all the donations too, it really is the elephant in the room and esp for you. I know you care for your viewers and you had every right to be a little iffy on helping setup a gofundme/cashapp from the getgo. It's gonna be awesome if Lucky gets a bed, however we all have to remember quitting can take many attempts.
P.S with ur help along the way, it'll be a massive blessing for Lucky. As long as he knows there's no expectations on either side. I just got to your part about pushing someone to get help and you clearly know what you're doing. My bad, if I came across negative or whatnot. You got this Lucky!
@@AfterPrisonShowdont listen to this lady no excuses some people just need a kick in the ass
@@m1ssjujuna. It doesnt have to take many attempts and. OVERDOSE IS NOT. A PART OF RECOVERY. You make a choice and you stand on it. Or you die like a dog. Thats the reality. They all die. They live like animals and then die. I watched 40++. People die. A whole neighborhood wiped out (philly). I got clean. I never relapsed. I made a choice. Im not living like an animal anymore and im not dying like a dog. TOUGH. Love is necessary. This is not a joke. Its deadly serious. “Compassion” can be the death nail.
JOE you one SOLID mfer man , need more people like you out there 💪💪
Lucky I realy hope you can beat this your such a lovely person and have loads of potential .joe your so kind hearted always wanting to help others its so lovely to see ...lots of luck lucky we all rooting for you ❤

Suboxone saved my life been clean for 14 years
Suboxone saved my life. 12 years
Suboxone saved my life also. I've been clean from opiates for almost 7 years now. I would like to get off of the Suboxone at some point but at least I have a normal life now and actually have a bank account with a little money saved up. I would never be able to do that on opiates.
Congrats everyone I'm a homeless content creator myself
You aint sober
@@Runnin65Yeah yeah, go back to NA…
I’m 100% better than I was, “sober” or not
Like everybody knows until he's actually ready to do it himself. It's worthless. Never mind if he's going to go to a 5-day detox go right back to the streets. It's never going to work. There's no possible way! He's got to be ready within him. Believe me and I love that. Been there done it! Best of luck
It's more than just the detox, I was told a long time ago it doesn't matter where you go, you bring you with you. We are gonna work on some things behind the scenes...as a person in recovery I am doing everything I can to help also....thanks for the comments...keep it real...we will too!
Lucky is great hopefully he will become a life long member of APS
Great interviewing man you still got it 🙏🏽
Joe where is Dave I'm going to keep asking that question on every video until we get answers because some people say he's dead I don't believe that we just need updates on him and anyone else that was a part. Of APS in the past
A lot of people asking about Dave and Cody, we NEED to know
He has a channel Daves World
Oh God I sincerely hope he's ok. Actually that's not the right word. I hope Dave is thriving somewhere with his family! Please update us Joe!
He never uploads @@GenXGranny
Yeah I know but it's been 3 years since he's posted any videos @@GenXGranny

Joe, I have followed you for years. It’s a crazy story how and why I looked up prison stories but I ended up in Chesapeake thanks to the military a few years ago. How can I help Lucky as someone local?
Sending Good Vibes!!! I LOVE THE KINDNESS!!!
Joe, you are an Angel, and you're meant to do this. I'm so glad you are back and for bringing us Lucky. My heart goes out to him and wishing nothing but the absolute best for him. I think it's safe to say, we are all rooting for him!!
Yes !!! People , places , and things have to completely change and from what I've experienced if you don't then don't bother taking a bed away from someone that really wants to get sober !
I've watched this 3 times now and all the other episodes. Tears every time what a beautiful montage at the end
This makes me want to quit drinking right now. If lucky can do what he's going through I can make it work with everything i got at my disposal.
God bless everything you do Joe! We are SO back! APS!
35:40 😊❤ Virginia ⛱️ Psychiatric! Love the positive vibes here!! Wonderful to see this kind of caring.
Im on suboxone. Im doing millions time better now than when i was a junkie. Bought couple cars an motorcycle never could done that when all my money use to go in my arm
I feel you I've been on subs for years and I've been able to buy property and a home! A lot of people say its trading a different drug for another drug, but until you have actually lived the life they'll never know! Stay blessed 🙏🏼
I actually know a few people who have been able to use suboxone for a positive way out as well.
Me too, haven't had a relapse either, since January 2018
I'm also on suboxone and I'm doing better. I finally have my own apartment amd a job.
I am super proud of Lucky. This Is a super hard choice and a difficult step in the process to start living your life again.
This is why I watch! Great video, Joe!
23:10 so true about comfort zones. Excellent point 👉 for discussion.
Joe. Excellent video. Inspirational. Your channel is definitely going to grow big with this type of heart warning and curiougous content. And with that growth the more people you can help! This is one of your best videos!
I hope to see lucky clean and doing much better someday hopefully soon ..he is a good dude from what i see..a addict that can use your camera and not sell it is ok in my book..any addict i ever known would have sold that joint but there are some good people in bad situations..good luck lucky..
Joe your little piece about “change” was so true and really hits different when you truly think about it. That was so deep stuff. You could even see it had Lucky thinking as well. Good stuff my man.
Joe, you truly were meant for this brother. God bless you and Lucky both. 🙏💪❤️ LUCKY. YOU'VE GOT THIS MAN. JOE! Remind him of the millions of fans supporting him! 🙂
Proud of you Lucky…. I’m a recovering addict myself and I know first hand how hard it is to do what you’re about to do! May God be with you in your journey to recovery 🙏
Nice to see you lucky and hope everything goes well for you

I was crying the whole time. I'm proud of u lucky. U can do it. I have 27 years clean.
For you Lucky, I hope these words help you as much as they did me... I believe in you brother.
“I'm going to tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth, but you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!” -Rocky Balboa
This is what APS is all about. Helping good people who stumbled into hard times, whether that be adjusting to life after prison, or addiction. You were meant to do this Joe. Using your past experiences to lift up other people and to motivate them to make positive changes in their life.
This is years of hard work coming into fruition. Regardless of the drama over the years and troubles with the painting business, I can really see you doing this full time someday and maybe even make a great career out of it! Kudos Joe
Giving up the people, places, and things that surround your addiction is the hardest thing of all. Withdrawals suck but having to give up friends is the worst part. But it's an integral part of recovery. It's the foundation. If and when Kurt ever gets in recovery, then a new friendship can begin. The friendship that exists now will not allow sobriety. All my love and prayers Lucky, this is going to be the hardest thing You've ever done but coming out the other side is so worth it.
Awesome stuff Joe.Yall met for a reason. my hats off to you john. will be cool to see what lucky can do. Best video in a long time. Glad you picked that camera back up
